Lets Spot Zebedee

A McKee Clan Cache

Great fun in your local playground

Zebedee is a charecter from the tv series the magic round about. He has a spring for legs and the kids think he is so cool. The kids call the play equiptment that is on spring at the local playground after this charecter.
"Can we play on the Zebedee"

Take a photo with you and your GPS next to a unique Zebedee. If you a riding the Zebedee even better. Iphone  users (camera + GPS in one) you must be in the photo with a clear photo of the zebedee.

To clarify a Zebedee is a single spring. It is also known as a spring animal, Springer or rocker.

Only one find per cacher and must be unique.

An example if a yellow kangaroo has been found then no more yellow kangaroo's can be logged. But a red Kangaroo is okay to Log. All Zebedee are okay as long as they have a single spring.

The difficulty will rise as the list gets longer.

Some Examples

Shark, Horse, Cat, Cow, Alien?, Chicken

This list will have one zebedee per cacher in the end so if you see a double cacher find - it is still up for grabs. * are still available

too many logs by people when we requested only one per person

So many found logs by individual users. The listing states one find per user to make it fair on others. It's a shame some cant read and respect the wishes of the cache owner. Geocaching Australia where is the delete button.

LIZARD. We were looking for a cache at a park on the western outskirts of Toowoomba Qld and spotted some Zebedee's in the playground. The seal has allready been claimed but the Lizard look a like was not. I could not sit on it because I am not small enough so i stood alongside it. The park is very well appointed and I suspect would be very busy at weekends or for childrens functions. TFTC

My mini-cache-finding-helper was having great fun at a park in Latrobe in Northern Tasmania, despite the look on his face!

23-Jul-12
I had spotted two other Zebedees out caching but when I checked the cache description I noticed the need to be in it if using the GPS camera so I kept looking. The other day I discovered one near to home (also whilst out getting a cache) and it appears to be an unfound colour/type combination. The question is - is this motorbike Zebedee orange or green?... I'll let the CO decide that one Wink As I was using the GPS's camera, I put my pathtags (on my keys) and pointing hand as proxy for me - I'm too big, long-legged and old for these things! ;-P

17-Jul-12
We visit this playground a lot with the little red tags so it was an easy find Cool
Thanks for the cache McKee Clan

I was walking by this little park again today and I realized that I had not taken a photo of this Zebedee when I was there a few days ago, I did do the other one but somehow forgot about this one.
Might as well do it now before I forget again!
So here you are a Blue Frog.

The redevelopment of the Bluff foreshore in Devonport Tasmania has only recently been completed so after a trip to visit family in Railton we decided to stop off here for lunch and inspect the area. We found this Blue and Yellow Fish Zebedee at the newly constructed small children's playground. This Zebedee is not shown in any other photo in the gallery.

A way cool Zebedee found in a fairly new playground with a GC cache - located in Bathurst. This one is very cute! Thanks for the cache!

At the park while heading to a nearby cache, I spotted these two zeb's.

A Truck - in 3 colours
A Horse - blue

Not having an internet link at the time, I remembered this cache, but not that I should be in the photo.

(coords are WP1 of the other cache, so as to not give away any GZ info)

Out with the family at a local park on the weekend I spotted this Zebedee; although I am not sure what animal it is .. a platypus? A dragon? Well .. it's Blue. Little Miss HGL enjoyed riding on it, over and over again Smile

This is a nice playground in Somerton Park, near Glenelg, Adelaide. Recommend it for the kids, quiet, with all the facilities and even a small climbing wall!

Thanks for the ride on the Magic Roundabout

Check this out! In the back streets of Woodridge in Brisbane there's a little railway and the playground in the middle has a railway theme.
Well the Zebedee is in the theme although I did notice it has two springs so doesn't qualify but worth noting here.

We can't help seeing these Zebedee's where ever we are.

11-Jan-11
This little Zebedee was located at the community centre on RAAF Base Wagga. Although you can’t get access to the base unless you are a defence member, you can come visit the attractions at the front of the base. There is a small park with BBQ’s and seating. While you are here why don’t you look at the RAAF Wagga Heritage Centre. RAAF Wagga Heritage Centre (Originally known as the Wagga Wagga RAAF Museum but was officially, RAAF Museum – Wagga Annex) is a heritage centre located at the Wagga Wagga RAAF Base at Forest Hill located approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia on the Sturt Highway. The heritage centre has indoor and outdoor displays of aircraft, memorabilia and photographs relating to the RAAF in the Riverina.
The museum was closed in 2001 for refurbishment with the memorabilia temporarily relocated to the Point Cook RAAF museum but plans to reopen the museum were quietly scrapped after the RAAF adopted a new policy in 2003, which stated that the RAAF would only fund Point Cook RAAF museum. A Wagga Wagga based newspaper The Daily Advertiser ran a campaign during late September and early October 2008 in an attempt to reverse the Australian Defence Force's decision. On 13 December 2008, it was announced that the museum will be reopening in 2009. The Air Force would spend A$75,000 completing the refurbishment of the museum building, due to be complete in 2009 sometime.
In May 2009, a public consultation meeting was held to discuss plans for the centre, including the AU$130,000 set aside by the Royal Australian Air Force for outfitting the building for a future heritage display.
On 12 March 2010, it was reported that the heritage centre was expected to reopen in Spring 2010, but the official opening date was to be announced at a later date.

A red sparrow by the looks of it. Didn't know whether I should take a photo of it or shoo it away. I cache in the company of me, myself & I & have yet to acquire the skills of taking my own photo along with the GPSr & the subject. The Garmin 60CSX is near the tail. Thanks.

20-Nov-10
The two year old and I visit a lot of parks while we are caching. We spotted this Red Airplane while testing the slides at a playground in Brimbank Park.
She thought that it was fun. And, a great vantage point for the low flying planes taking off from the airport.

Cheers McKee Clan, thanks for making playgrounds even more fun. Also, this is my 50th GCA find so a minor milestone as well. Very Happy

I found a rhino!

this was an intresting one. I found the park, and took a photo of the zebedee. I was about to get a silly one of myself in it, until out of nowhere, these three teenage girls just..appeared. I nervously ran away to my car.

Six hours later, when i drived past the park in the dark, there was still a group of teenagers in the park. WTF?

(better co-ords, and better pictures coming ..on a school day or something.)

Spotted this Zebedee in a lonely park in Brisbane

08-Nov-10
Found this little blue Koala version close to a cache in Melton Vic, there was no way I was going to fit so it's just a picture with me by the side of it.

06-Nov-10
As per Duncdonut's log, we were out caching today when he exclaimed with delight that we had found zebedee's! I was utterly confused at his excitement and insistence that we take photo's. Then it all fell into place, but if you check his photo's you will see evidence of my confusion. I claim Blue Roo!

06-Nov-10
Have been looking out for one of these for a while and have taken a few pictures before but they were already taken. Today I was out with KELLYXLEY, her husband and our good mate Fiona. They were perhaps a little puzzled as to why I was so excited to see the play equipment when we stopped here for the nearby FF Butterfly (GC18NBH) cache, but here it is - one pink lion and one blue roo, both in the same park, both single spring, both of which haven't been logged before and we took pics of both teams with both zebedees-doo-dahs so we can both log this. I'll take the PINK LION but will post both pics. TFTC!

05-Nov-10
I was going to log a red wombat for this one but just noticed I'm to late, luckily I took a photo of this yellow pelican as well. Located at Bluewater Park just north of Townsville in sunny North Queensland. Thanks for the cache.

25-Oct-10
WanderingAus wandered by on day 167 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, heading West towards home, and pulled into Cocklebiddy for a comfort break. I spotted this Zebedee in a playground there and had the thought "Is this the most remote Zebedee in the world?", so I took a photo.

6242701290.jpg

I can't claim a find, so it's still available for someone else to find, but to encourage a claim here I've made a new virtual cache, GA2762 WanAus 186 - SRR - Cocklebiddy Zebedee, with the Zebedee as it's focus.

19-Sep-10
This blue horse was spotted in the small township of stanley. As I was walking towards the zebedee muggle kiddies were heading for the playground. I mentioned to my daughter that I have to ride it she begged so hard for me not to as she did not want to be embarrassed by her mum riding it, so i just took the photo.

08-Sep-10
A simple red horse zebedee, found while out geocache adventuring with the kids.

It is a red and green "see saw" style.

Two into one Teal kangaroo won't go! Laughing

14-Aug-10
I've had my eye on this little blue motorbike for a while in Wallaroo. Today was too wet and windy to go on a cache hunt anywhere so we decided to go grab a snap at the local Zebedee!
The guy working in his shed across the street must have wondered what we were up to. Think

Thanks McKee Clan.

11-Aug-10
Logging a Red Seahorse! Sorry I couldnt ride it, a fenced off muggle kids crowded playground was not a place I as a single male cacher wanted to be taking photos of myself riding kids equipment Very Happy

So here is my hand, GPS and cool Zebedee Red Seahorse! From the other photos you will see I could have claimed a Green Turtle, Blue Whale and Yellow Fish... but I'll leave them there for another finder Smile

06-Aug-10
WanderingAus wandered by on day 87 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, exploring around Springsure, when I spotted four different Zebedees in a playground. The WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO) wouldn't let me ride any because there were lots of mini-muggles in the playground, some of them riding Zebedees, so I took a couple of photos of the ones with no mini-muggles near them.

We headed off to hunt down GCGH3P "Minerva" by albyalbatross&wendy, and when we returned a couple of hours later the playground was deserted, so I got to ride all the Zebedees while SWMBO took photos. She also found a strange telescope which gives multiple image views, and took a photo through that too.

4332448135.jpg

I think it's a red horse, and the white one is a four-way seesaw thingy. The top orange one is either a sheep or a horse, and the double koala was too hard for me to ride, but I tried. I've included those only for interest. There was a small playground further up the road but it only had a green frog, so I didn't ride that one.

This little fellow is in a little playground set in a vast spread of green at Little Clagiraba Conservation Reserve. I'm not at all sure what it is but I don't think it's been logged before. I've found these before this, but didn't have a photo of me on one. By the way, these little suckers really wobble! Shocked

Our youngest daughter loves these things - I must admit I did too when I was younger and normally drunk after a teenage party Smile
We have so many photos of these but gladly went and got more Smile

Also found a yellow spaceship one - but is it one? The spring is enclosed, thanks to the councils new playgrounds we have alot of new and updated things like this.
Also the 2 person seesaw is now on a spring?

Please only include one of the zebedee's - I just added the photos for fun and interest, I dont want to make it hard for others Smile

25-Jul-10
There are a couple in the local park in Hawthorndene - a white horse and a red dragon ...

25-Jul-10
Had this cache been created a couple of years ago, I could have linked to a nice video of Mr Wibble on a Zebedee, resulting in him basically lying on his back on the ground while still on the Zebedee! These things do not always cope well with adults on them, as you can see with our find today, while out on a bike ride. We found a green frog.

Yay FTF!
found these Zeb's in a local park. I knew they were there as my Daughter loves to come to this park. and it's aslo ouside one of the best fish and choip shops on the coast, so that helps.

This Zebedee is a pelican. so this one, whilst being unique so far for this cache. Its propbably quite a commom one for coastal playgounds.
thanks for the find. and for the FTF
