Description
This is one of two webcams that have been placed on the Race Control tower of the Canberra Yacht Club. This one points in a north westerly direction and has the main part of Westlake and Black Mt in its field of view.
These webcams have been placed her to assist sailors to get an indication of the conditions on Lake Burley Griffin before coming down to sail.
This is the harder of the two to collect as you will require specialised equipment or be prepared to get wet, however please be aware that the webcams here do often stop working and can take a week or two to be restored. Please feel free to log a note if you notice it is down. Also you may need to remain at GZ for up to 5mins as they only update that often, and obviously you can only collect these in the daylight hours.
In order to log this cache you will need to obtain a screen shot of the webcam with you in the picture holding your GPSr and upload it with your log.
As I mentioned, this is the harder of the two as there is no dry land close enough in which you can stand on and collect this cache. If you do not have the desire to get wet or the specialised equipment required perhaps try its companion Lake Burley Griffin - Webcam #1 in which you do not need specialised equipment or need to get wet for.
You can find the webcam at www.canberrayachtclub.com.au/webcam/cam.htm and is the upper picture on the page. The lower picture is for geocaching.com.au/cache/ga3864

My first and second ever Webcam cache finds. Great fun and I think I have webcam fever because I want to find more now!

A Tassie contingent and one Queenslanderset off in a hired boat to plunder the spoils of Springbank Island and this was one we found. TFTV
Many thanks jusojara for creating this webcam for our enjoyment.
thanks for the loan of the kayak Boot65 (1st time for me). i will be doing more of theses now
Thanks Jusojara for the cache. One that's been on the list for a long time.
With everything sorted, it was time for a swap...and LuckyL10n was soon in the kayak and heading out to take up the correct position while manned the equipment....which is always a bit of a worry, but again all turned out for the good.
Thanks jusojara....glad to have this one crossed off now....
I called home, but they couldnt see me so it was time to deploy the extra special equipment - and it worked! Kind of...
I hope the attached pic is acceptable to you jusojara - thats my GPS dangling from the strap of my walking pole you can see, and its hard to tell, but my hand is just in shot at the very bottom.
Well that was an interesting cache, the things we do in the name of a smiley. Thanks jusojara for the chance to make a public spectacle of myself.
The wind was freezing and the light was failing, so we pulled the pin and went home. Will have to come back another day, which is a shame as this was the one I wanted for the Geosportz game.
*needs maintenance*
The cacher names as registered on the Event roll are as follows so should be allowed to log this cache. Many thanks for the cache and all photos received by our great webcam operator (Mtbikeroz) will be uploaded soon!

As it turns out this is our first ever GCA cache. Thanks to JuSoJaRa for this webcam cache, they are actually one of my favorite types of caches even though I have probably only done two before. I'm glad our first ever GCA is a memorable one and done by one of our favorite caching families too.
Lots of fun arriving at GZ to find two groups getting the different camera angles.
I was able to line us up on the camera looking down the flag ropes via the iphone to get us in shot. Luckily we didn't go the extra 27meters to the actual GZ as I wonder if we would have been to far out of shot? Either way with the 15 or so water craft formed up as pontoon we were easily able to wait out the 4 minutes for the next shot. A screen shot on the iphone and we were done.
A sensational day on the lake and a really enjoyable group of people to spend it with.
If I ever get any time to scratch myself, hopefully I be able to put a video together of the day .
Thanks to rbirtles for organising such a great day, and to JuSoJaRa for this webcam cache.
A day I won't soon forget!
Thanks for my first webcam jusojara!
Really good to see a web cam cache springing up!
Big thanks to Jusojara for allowing the flotilla to claim this webcam.
TFTC and the impromptu raft.
This was a fun one.
Whether it was "Oh no! We're 62m away! Oh no, the other way!", or trying to get all of our boats in the shot, or..just missing the refresh, or confusing the muggles that were sitting on shore (who we must of confused the living daylights out of!), i had fun doing this.
Was just a start on the madness today!
Thanks jusojara for the ride and the cache.
but we were in the one at the LBG event today
