Cache is missing. Confirmed by a previous finder. Needs co to replace the cache
As a previous finder, I visited the area that the final is in (as I was launching my kayak there) and like Mogni I also found that the container was missing. Looks like there has been some tree pruning and the container has been removed.
Can the CO please check and replace?
Can the CO please check and replace?
I got through all the way points but after digging around at GZ no luck for me. There has been some cutting in the area and cache may have gone. I am happy to check again (assuming I was in the right spot) or replace if needed.
After a DNF in June (after being unable to find a container at WP1), I came back home and did a bit more research on this one (reading logs and viewing photos) and managed to work out where WP2 was. Visited WP2 and the found the necessary info for WP3. Made the journey there and walked north by 50m and there was the cache! Found and log signed!
I noted that the CO hasnt logged on in over 2 years, so I sent an email requesting the container for WP1 be reinstated, and the CO replied back and gave me permission to do it. So there is now a fake stone near the stone hut that contains the coords to WP2 for future cachers to find.
Thanks for the cache autumleaf!

A frustrating DNF for this one. Firstly that the coords for WP1 are in the middle of the road and need to be updated, and secondly I searched everywhere for the microcache around the hut and the gardens for over 20 mins and couldnt find anything, short of doing damage to the structure and the gardens. Can the CO please update the coords AND check that the microcache is still there.
We have to admit that we chickened out at the first way point - it's a really interesting old building, and funny to see the modern houses and roads built all around it, but felt too exposed to hunt for the cache.
After reading through the past logs, and making some educated guesses, we arrived at a promising location. Given the length of time since the last find and our questionable method in working out the final GZ, we were pleasantly surprised to find the cache sitting the first place we looked!

Staying in Victor for a week and checked out a few caches before leaving home. Saw previous log about WP1 so I decided to see if I could work it out without visiting WP1. [?] [?]
With some help from Google Earth I was able to come up with some viable coordinates and today while I was out walking I went to my GZ and immediately spied what I thought could be a good place for the hide, and would you believe a cache was found. [^] [^]
I felt very pleased with myself, signed the log, replaced and continued on my walk.
Thanks for the cache autumleaf.

I think the first way point is MIA. Interesting little shed...which surprisingly I'm linked to by marriage to the local Pearce whom we had just returned from visiting
Out for the day caching with Pprass finding some of the caches around Victor Harbor and Goolwa.

I picked up chrispy89 at 7am and returned him home at 11.30pm after attending the excitement filled Meet and Greet Wright Here event at Victor Harbor
All up, I managed 16 smileys for the day's locus cache efforts.
Fascinating multi, especially that twist on the end.... I thought North was THAT way
Still, the joys of group caching....someone always thinks outside the usual patterns

Today we had the "Meet and greet Wright here" and while we were here we did a few caches, saw a couple of whales just off shore which was worth stopping caches and admire these wonderfull animals : )
After the meet & greet we continued our convey to this cache as locus had info for the multi.
But waypoint 3 stumped us and the rest walked to find the other traditional close by.
We eventually met locus near the bridge and Crispy & Shaido still looking in nearby trees.
We found a nearby location that hadn't been searched and whammo, found the cache.
Nice evening with little muggles around near WP3, cheers autumleaf.

Unfortunately for us, it was quite a windy/drizzley miserable day but that didn't stop our geocaching adventure. We set off after the rain cleared and found 11 treasures, with 2 non-finds. The Heysen Trail was certainly something that we'll never forget, and our feet won't either!
This was our second try at this one. Last time, the always reliable car decided to stop working/starting TWICE so we thought we'd try again another time. We got to stage 3 and looked around for a while before reading the final piece of the description. Once we'd gone 50m, there is was. Awesome multi, nice to learn a bit of history, thank you very much!

Another day heading south with the goal of getting to Victor Harbor and today we finally made it but it took 5 hours to get there - too many distractions (caches) along the way. It was good day with 57 finds, 3 hides and a little sunburn.
Apart from a few walkers, all was quiet here - grabbed the TB's to move on. TFTC.

We attempted this cache yesterday, but the co-ords had us in the middle of the road. After a some searching we gave up.
During the evening I worked on this cache & came up with a possible answer to the finial GZ. So, this morning we drove to the possible location & walked north as required & we found the cache. Just proves that you can do this cache without doing all 3 stages [^]. SL TNLN TFTC

We went to WP1 and were quite impressed with the structure there. Unfortunately there was a muggle painting his house in full view of us and watching us so we couldn't look for the cache. Mrs TiedyeSmileys then used her super puzzle solving skills on this and we went to where we thought WP3 would be which looked good, then off to GZ and there was cache .

This was the highlight of our day trip to Victor. What an odd thing to find in the middle of what is now suburbia ! Initially, I thought it was a modern reconstruction of a bit of nostalgia until I read the plaque and realised it was original. So glad they decided to preserve it. It must be a talking piece among the neighbours? . My only criticism of the cache is the poor co-ords. They appeared to be in the middle of the road some 15m from where it was eventually found; and we only found it because Auzee spotted it pretty much uncovered (I missed it ). I took a reading whilst recording the next WP and have included that in my log if it helps anyone else?.
I also didn’t really understand why we didn’t have to calculate a final co-ord from the numbers on the plaque, rather that a nebulous “50m North”? (it was 40m, in fact). But for all that, the final loc was pretty obvious, as there really wasn’t any other hiding places close to that direction and distance.
We used the nearby seat to quietly sign the log whilst many people strolled by, but made no swaps. Cheers. Really loved the stone hut [^] .

Found on a geocaching weekend with Team Jacob and Crystaldragon79 - we had to chuckle at WP1 obviously when things are heritage listed, it is easier to just build around them. TFTC very interesting
Very interesting cache, second coordinates took us to a very interesting find! Had a muggle walking his dog scratching his head while three ladies were looking a little weird in our beanies and scalves. TNLN TFTC
WP1 had me looking for a while. Co-ords had me about 10m away from the obvious spot as in the previous logged entry. Eventually found. At GZ the cache was totally exposed but still in its spot so put some camo over it. TNSL. L:Goecoin A husker down under. TFTC and interesting WP1.
Found whilst on a holiday to Middleton. Love this area. WP1 was about 15m away from where the GPS said 0m, and the nearby dog would not shut up. Easy find at GZ TFTC.
Found this today, been meaning to do this one for about 4 months( print out is dated 5/10/09 ) & had'nt checked the later logs, talk about make it hard for myself!!, Stone hut had me looking at the bitumen?? Victor Harbour is a fantastic place to cache in and as this was my first visit here I had loads of caches to choose from.
I drove up to the stone hut but decided that there were too many people watching to try and find the container so I did a little speculating instead.
I came up with a likely set of coords and was pleased to fand the cache, thus bringing up my 1000th multi find.
Really enjoyed the challenge.
Thanks to Autumleaf.

What a cool hut. Amazing story on the plaque too. Only problem was before we even got out of the car we had a resident looking out his window at us. He just stood at the window a watched us the whole time. I had a feeling that we were being watched from another house too. After a bit of a look, the guy staring out the window (and not responding even when we waved to him) and the GPSr pointing to a piece of bitumen in the middle of the road, we decided to leave.
I can understand the attraction to bring people to this cool hut with lots of history BUT if I was a resident here I would be wary (as I am at home) of strange cars pulling up in my street and hence probably would have chosen not to have hidden a waypoint in such a suburban street. Oh well. Hey, how about turning wp1 into getting info off the plaque instead of scrounging around looking for a micro?
Anyway, I was looking forward to the rest of the cache as I really liked the hut.

This took us a while as we didn't fully understand that stage one WAS at the first coordinates! The fact that stage 1 coordinates are written as different coords to the site download coords threw us. After a fruitless search on a rocky roadside we realized our mistake. Thnaks for the tour of Victor Harbours' geography and history.
Wonderful bit of history at Stage 1. Never knew it existed (but where are we going to park when they've built all the houses around it?) Very interesting multi. TN LN TFTC
Loved WP 1.Had to clean the bird droppings of WP 2 before we could get the answer. Finally found cache but had to have a chat with a muggle before he would leave and we could safely replace. Thanks Autumleaf for the cache and hunt.

What an interesting building at the first way point. GZ had us in the middle of the road, but common sense prevailed and container quickly in hand. We worked out the other waypoints and were hit with Deja vu. After checking a couple of possible final places, Mr O came up with goods only to be swooped with the not-so-friendly magpies. TFTC
Loved wayponit 1 especially the roof cladding and how it was secured.

Nice locations, I liked them all! Stage 1 coords were quite a bit off for me and I'm glad I spied the hiding place fairly quickly. I had heaps of satellites locked so my waypoint should be pretty accurate. I grabbed the cruiserdude geocoin and left a Japan geocoin. Thanks! (Sue-Cat)

I poked around the old structure and shone my torch through the gaps in the roof. Very interesting and a complete surprise for me (I'd been going and staying around here since the early '60's and never noticed this gem from the past before) [^]. Then off to Yilki and the band was just warming up. As I found the second WPT the smell of wood oven fired pizzas met me. Damn hard to resist but I did. We bombed out with the first two waypoints, but guessed the location of the "clue only " one. Found the well hidden cache and left a golf ball, took the boomerang keyring. For the sake of our own self esteem we will back track one day soon and check out the first two clues Many thanks.
We were prepared to dash off south to bag this one when the notification came up but then we thought, ‘Oh no! the Wannabe Nomads will be there’, and so it proved. Congratulations. FTF... EVENTUALLY.
We would have been nice and cheezed if we didn't get it, after all our "efforts"[:(!]
Well.... Started this cache at night. Boy was the house owner over the road interested in our every move Number one spotter( AKA Nomad Son) found the clue first. . Jotted down the next co-ords then headed back home for a bit of sleep. [|)]...it was late you know...
Awoke, not so bright, and not so early and headed off to the next stage.
Found the clue easily... more about that later... and headed off. The co-ord I entered suprisingly headed to one of our other caches. HMMM.
Anyway off we went. Blonde and Blonder and black dog headed to what we thought was GZ.When we arrived, I thought, this can't be right. Then Miss blonde says the number was something else. Oops.
Entered the correct ones then made a significant back track...
WHAT.. I said.. We are going to another place near to one of our other caches!!!!!! [?] ... or are we?
FINALLY... " near GZ" was found...off again.
Muggles everywhere... of course. Just more icing on the morning cake!!!!... Wait, we didn't even have coffee yet.
I needed COFFEE and a toilet break, but we were not going to be defeated by such distractions.
Well, after all the "detours" GZ was actually very quick to find!!!
Thanks for the fun.
Then it was off to Maccas for some COFFEE, and sustainance.
