Meandering our way back over east, picking up caches along the way. RIP fred. Tftc
Found while heading towards Kimba after a few nights in Streaky Bay. Cache in good condition. TFTC
From Tumby bay weekend off staying in kimba trying to do some caches that have been added since in this area. Will pop over to Venus bay on the way with geo dog TonkaPoor Fred. It must have been a lot more trees back in those days for him not to get away. Driving this road not one other car was spotted. I felt like this road was built just for me Thanks to the MalanDi for placing and maintaining Condition excellent Coords. Excellent Took. Nothing Left. Nothing TFTC
My 6th day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. Today I left Kyancutta and headed off towards the coast and stayed near Streaky Bay for the night. This cache would be find number 6 of 22 for the day and find Number 117 in total for this trip away.
Heading down south grabbing what I can along the way.

Drove west. Found your cache
Poor Fred. A true hero recognised in stone.
So what are we doing this week...
(Go west) Life is peaceful there.
(Go west) Lots of open air.
(Go west) To find caches new.
(Go west) This is what we'll do.
(Go west) Sun in winter time.
(Go west) We will do just fine.
(Go west) Where the skies are blue.
(Go west) This and more we'll do.
(Go west) Life is peaceful there.
(Go west) Lots of open air.
(Go west) To find caches too.
(Go west) This is what we'll do.
(Go west) together together we'll cache on our way
(Go west) together together you map me the way
(Go west) you cache places new
(Go west) this is what we'll do
(Go west) life is smiley there
(with thanks and apologies to the Village People and Pet Shop Boys - who must have been cat lovers!)
Many thanks for the cache hide and ongoing care and maintenance MalanDi .

Country, Coffee, Cats, Champagne, Chocolate, and Caching...
Careful caching as always, wherever we go.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids, occasionally AI too! (And a little rubber stamp )
----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...
... until next time!

GCA1DNA - Great Leap Forward ... be there or be backward!
29.2.24 It's gone MEGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little detour from Port Kenny to pick up this lga as we wont be passing through it on this trip. Lovely drive out here. Tftc
This certainly is a a good quality road now. I almost went the long way around to Eyre Hwy, but the lady at the Port Kenny servo assured me that this was the way to go.
RIP Fred.

Quite a good spot, very different to most caches, which are absolutely surrounded by rocks TFTC
Quick find. Nice memorial for someone who obviously meant a lot to the community. TFTC.
During our new years break, jesswrigley and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.
Today, jesswrigley and I decided to take a half day to complete a loop through Poochera, Minipa, Wudinna, and then back through headed from Streaky Bay to Kimba, primarily driving along the Port Kenny and Venus Bay. We enjoyed the tribute to the dinosaur ants in Poochera, and visited Pildappa Rock and Tcharkuldu Rock just outside Minipa, which were quite interesting geologically.
A sad and unfortunate spot. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks MalanDi for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.
Sad spot
Some metal stakes in the ground - was there a picnic table or shelter here previously?

Found during a tour of the Gawler Ranges and Eyre Peninsula for the week, on a route that saw us traveling to Kimba, Streaky Bay, Tumby Bay, Cleve and Whyalla and camping out near Secret Rocks, Kolay Hut (Gawler Ranges), Pildappa Rock, Port Kenny and Yeldulknie Weir (Cleve), all the while finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache MalanDi!
Off on our holidays, traveling from Adelaide to Nullarbor, Broken Hill, Mildura and the Mallee Region.
Chasing a few caches on the way, this was one of the caches we found.
Taking a few TB's along the route and placing a Path Tag or two as we discover the Yellow Smiley Faces!
The question is, did we find it worthy of a favourite point?
We thank the CO for bringing us to this place in lovely Australia.

Found as part of a roadtrip with some members of the geocaching community to attend the TAR Centenary at Ooldea where 100 years ago the East - West Railway met and was joined.
It was then onto Maralinga for a camp and rest day for the Parrots while the rest of the crew went on a tour.
The Parrots then headed out across the Nullabor to visit the old Telegraph station at Eucla with a camp at the old abanoned homestead along the way.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!

Found as on way home after a road trip to WA for WA goes Big. Travelling with BONES TFTC
We found this cache as part of a 4 day trip which went from Adelaide to Sceale Bay returning to Adelaide. The purpose of the trip was to remove Freddo was his home location too near the Clipsal 500 track and for us and Freddo to achieve a difficulty 4 1/2 and terrain 4 cache to make us well rounded cachers. The cache we needed to find was located near Venus Bay and we successfully completed this goal early on Friday morning which left us plenty of time to find "just one more". Loved the scenery and having the opportunity revisit this great area Thanks to MalanDi for placing this cache.
Exploring the country side of SA. Having lots of fun and finding nice scenic spots and a lot of historical places. Cache was easily found and in good condition. TFTC MalanDi.
RIP Fred, I hope the locals provide some TLC to your memorial spot soon, would be s shame to see it left overgrown like this. SL TFTC
I was cruising around the back roads, or maybe a main road today, and found this tragic spot [:o]

At last we are making our way home to Perth after the OzMega event in Murray Bridge. But the wonders of South Australia still have hold of us and we seem to be moving only so very slowly and have set up camp at the beautiful Streaky Bay.
We stopped and paid our respect to this wonderful man, thanks MalanDi for your cache.

As we approached this one we saw a car near GZ. However, they turned out to not be geocachers, just done people looking at something else which caught their eye.

Interestingly No Where Road does not work on the Garmin. It had me going 95km out of my heading there and 100km coming back. That was weird. RIP Fred.
Had a great day chsing the FTF at Venus Bay Entrance and now heading back to Stanwell Park. Slowly ... still visiting on the way and caching as we can! Thanks, MalanDi, for the beautiful caches!
