Considering the last person wrote on a bag apparently that wasnt even the log I dont think this one is still here.

In Darwin for a few days from Perth doing the touristy thing and picking up few smilies here and there when I get the chance. Dropped the missus off this morning at the Parap Village Markets and was left to my own devices for a bit.I had done the homework on a lot of these challenges pre-trip and qualified for quite a few. It was a little disappointing not being able to find some of them once I got to the GZ's though.Found a baggy but no container or log. Wrote my name on the bag. Qualifying caches listed in my 'write note' from August this year.corunnaroad I found your cache at 11:51am, this was the 5th of 10 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 8422. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.SLTFTC

After an amazing few weeks exploring the NT and parts of WA, it’s time to head home, but we have a few days in Darwin beforehand, and of course we have to cache around in that time! We’ve had a great time this trip finding some amazing caches, and Darwin was no different!

Quick find here, not the hide I expected… Log is very wet, managed to scratch 737 on the logbook though.

We're enjoying our stay in Darwin and exploring the different locations. This is one of the caches we targeted and found. Replaced after advising co. Will log later.

Our only DNF for out time in Darwin after the CO confirmed it is MIA.

In preparation for an upcoming trip...

I qualified for this one but couldn’t find the cache. I looked for it during the week without success, so I contacted the CO and the most recent finder who told me I was looking in the right spot so had another look today and it’s definitely not there. Hopefully it can be replaced.

I had to give up looking for this one... i checked every nook but sadly I didn’t find it!

It is with a sad face that i have to log a dnf here. I checked everything i thought it would be and everywhere i thought it couldn't and still couldn't find it.
I put several paf's out to past finders and kept fishing around with no luck anywhere.

Oh no!!! We couldn’t find it!! I can’t believe it! After we had been having such a good run. Searched high and lo on everything we could think of in the near vicinity. Even the Taxi driver got out to give us a hand..

In port for the day with the Carnival Splendor, K8TYBEE and I thought it the perfect chance to explore the cities history and grab as many caches as possible!

We started the day on an awesome walking tour with the amazing team from Darwin Walking, then set off on our own on foot (and then by patient taxi driver) to see what we could find.

Thanks to everyone who maintains these caches! We had a great first visit to Darwin! Very happy with the 14 logs we signed. Now to spend the next couple of days making sure we have passed the challenges so we can turn those notes into finds! TFTC

Not where I tought it would be, and I think I was fo=irst in the new log-strip. All good and replaced as found. T F T C corunnaroad.

We've had opur 2 days in Katherine and enjoyed our river cruise and visit there and have had a good time seeing some more of what the Top End has to offer.

We're in Darwin after our few days way out West and rather than slim pickings (geocache-wise) there's a feast of finds up for grabs. As it turned out we found a modest amount of finds and just picked at a few here and there rather than the gluttonous frenzy last time I visited in 2012. We were initially staying in the Alatai but that lasted one night before we moved to better digs on Mitchell - wise choice.
It's that time of year at last when we're heading off on a 2 week break to Australia. We're travelling in 2 distinct phases; see our son and his family in Broome for 5 nights then up to Darwin and NT for a 6 night break before heading back to NZ for Winter, brrrr. There were not many Broome caches to be found as we had visited in September 2016, but there were a couple of newbies available and a revisit to some previously enjoyed sights and sites. A great break and good to get some mid-year sun to recharge the batteries. Main focus was Earthcaches and any collateral solved/qualified for Puzzles and Challenges as well as a friendly Event in Darwin on our first night in town. A good trip all round and nice time was had.

I always ‘try’ to be finding a GC after a DNF but, alas, we came up short

GPS cords for this one had me in the middle of nowhere although it was somewhere but it didn't look like somewhere that had been cached any time recently so I figured it wasn't there. The other 'logical' spots didn't reveal anything either so decided to move on.

Cache replaced. Feel free to sign if you went there recently and it wasn't there.

I have done the ROTF Power trail in South Australia with 278 (or so) caches named after every pope, so therefore named after people.

Thanks corunnaroad for the challenge, and for allowing us to now log it.

Moneydork and I searched the area around GZ for quite a while before having to abandon it due to muggles.

We returned in the evening for another extensive search by torchlight, again turning up nothing.

It is of course possible that we missed it, but it would be worth a check by the CO.

Getting prepped for our cruise. We qualify and have bookmarked the list.

Found after a short search. The log book was very wet. Thanks for another fun challenge cache.

In the afternoon made a short trip to Bay View and on our way found this cache too. )

I was a bit concerned that I might have arrived at GZ near "pick up"time... Thankfully, the area was pretty quiet and I was able to move in on GZ and swiftly retrieve the container... [^]

This was the find of today

It's my very last day in Darwin this time and I have been meaning to come by this spot which is relatively close to where I have been staying. Things just take time

For once this was not a bike ride as I was on a little last-minute morning tour by car with LandLockedSailors (LLS) before I had to head for the airport at noon

It only took a little searching then the cache was found and logged The cache is doing well

When I first came to Darwin I didn't have enogh caching experience to qualify for these challenge caches and over time I forgot about them. After a recent nudge from brilou9 I have come back to them and am pleased to see I now meet the criteria for a few. This is a lovely park and another place I would never have visited without caching. At long last I can convert this note to a smilie . We are in Darwin for a while after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter. Today I dedicated to finding 9 Mystery caches which I qualify for. Though at one stage I couldn't resist grabbing a traditional as I was only 2 m from GZ. That did unfortunately undo me as I then tried for another which ended up being my only DNF for the day, but I will be back before leaving this area to start heading further east.

All 9 Mystery caches were found - some easily and others not so easily. I added my name to each log either as SG as I often do in small caches to save space or by stamping others.

Thanks to all the COs for placing this series of challenge caches. I am so glad they have already been published as with the change in rules we may never see some of this kind again .

The plan today was to head out for a full day of caching but alas as so often happens we ended up doing jobs this morning and eventually left home, after 10am.

We had a good old poke about here, even poking our nose into things that proved non-cachey but came up with nothing. Unfortunately a hint from the CO came through just a little late for a revisit. Thanks anyway corunnaroad.

Brought along some trackables for a visit.

I discovered this "series" of caches on Sunday morning so along with some caching yesterday (5 in 1 Challenge completed" I sat at the computer until after 1am this morning to compile my lists. Having a crack at 15. Up and at it very early, gosh it was cool - almost needed a jumper - however the day warmed up quite well until at 12:30pm I finished my run around. This has to have been one of the most challenging and frustrating days of geocaching I have had in a long time and have learned that I dislike corunnaroad for his sneaky hides, for fig trees and micros. Actually I have to admire the complexity of this great and well thought out series. I go back to Queensland tomorrow - ah.... no more fig tress for a while! Thank you corunnaroad for putting these challenges together.

A warm morning drive around Darwin after the flash mob event.
Hardly any muggles around at the moment and mostly good quick finds.
I have attached my list. I added a few more in case any might not be accepted.
With 9,900 finds I can find plenty more if needed.

Am pleased to be clearing up some of these puzzle caches that I have had worked out for a while and just waiting to get back to Darwin to claim. Sneaky hide. Thanks Corunnaroad.

This year we have a long winter holiday when we are travelling in the Pacific. We are doing sightseeing and geocaching. Now we will spend a six week period in Australia where we will drive from Melbourne to Murray Bridge and then via Grampians to Canberra, Sidney and Brisbane. After that we will visit Darwin a few days before leaving Australia.


We managed to find more than 200 caches with names. A part of them is attached to the log.

The hardest part about this cache was finding somewhere to park the car. With the rain set in, the roads slippery, driving a hire car for which I would have to pay a gazillion dollars excess if it was damaged, I wanted to be safe.
I hope I didn't end up driving over a plover's eggs or young. I still can't work out how evolution hasn't ended a species that lays eggs on open ground and then runs around showing everyone where NOT to go.

Another great day caching around Darwin, to pick up a few that we missed.
This is a clever, well hidden cache, but it should stand out to a cacher.

On doing a little planning on our short trip to Darwin we noticed a lot more mystery caches compared to 12 months ago with our last brief visit. A quick looked showed a lot to be challenges which we thought we would have a good chance qualifying

Today route we had planned was for caches south of Tiger Brennan Drive. This took us from the ocean, a race track & into Charles Darwin National Park.
