Found on the way past this arvo grabbing some caches while headed to Barmera. Fun drive out here, last time we were here the area was flooded and couldnt get to GZ. A quick find today, cheers.Find #7124 on 18 Nov 2024.TFTC Aussie M & M!
Went for a lovely walk out here from barmera, great spot for a quiet cache, cheers cobber.
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Exploring the Riverland for a few days.A fun approach track. After reading the recent DNF we took out or sticks and left Peppa in the car, thankfully nothing levies was spotted and we soon had CIH. Tftc
Ocw the Bebes. Drove into the area and soon spotted GZ. Easy find once there. Tftc
As I approached the tree a snake slithered into the base of the tree. I couldn't see it container. So left it alone. I walked around from Pelican Point.
While travelling through the area we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
A nice 800 metre walk to GZ, but very muddy and slippery!. Signed log and back to the car quickly! Caches and contents were very good.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A walk in as the tracks were closed off. Good thing too as they are very slippery.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 16. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton. I was with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 6 in the River land. As we had accomplished the On your Bike caches, the others headed back east to stop at Mildura for the paddle steamer caches, but I am based in Adelaide at the moment, so could not go. I spent the day out and about collecting caches in the region before heading to Lake Bonny and then Berri, finishing the day in Katarapko National park.
This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.
Thanks for the cache Aussie M & M

Sir_spectre and I had a quick getaway to the Riverland. We were targetting the less found caches. We found an assortment of caches, and as regular for us manged to replace containers for several and put some fresh logbooks in others. It was a rather hot weather for a weekend of caching but the air conditioned car gave us some relief.
Thanks to Aussie M & M from mogni

glad i was in my 4x4 and not mogni's car. quick find.
Out with the Mogni for a short trip out to the riverland, only 3 days. It was hot first 2 days where 40 degrees and the last day was 33 degrees. Since the rules just changed about covid 19 testing before and after entering vic to no testing, we changed our plans on the way up and decided to go via Murray Sunset National Park. The idea was to find as many caches as we could that haven't been found recently most hadn't been found in 3 months. On day 1 we replaced 10 out of the first 12 caches, all broken container and 1 log book replaced, and by the end of the day had a heaped medium bin liner bag full of broken containers, the hot mallee sun doesn't do the plastic containers any good. Day 2 saw us caching around Loch Luna and lake Bonney which is way easier driving around here in the dry then in the rain like my last visit here. Onlt 1/2 a medium bin liners back of replaced containers today, people must fix the closer to the highway caches more often. On day 3 it was back in to the mallee country and home via Pinnaroo. Getting those " out of the way caches ". Plenty of dirt roads where driven down and many, many back sandy tracks taken. It was good to explore all the country areas and stay off the highway.

We found the winding dirt track into this cache and made our way down to the lakeside. The cache was found after a bit of a walk along the well defined path.
Caching has fallen by the wayside with everything that has been going on, work, lockdowns, blah, blah...so we needed to get away for a bit of R&R after lockdown so headed to Loch Luna for the weekend to refresh and cache!. An epic day today with 30 fnds and 3 DNF's. This was a quick find. TFTC
Staying in Barmera for the night we were able to grab a few caches that we missed on our last visit.
Bloody awesome location, we really enjoyed the scenery and the importance of this conservation area for the turtles.
Thanks Aussie M & M for bringing us here.

Thanks to the caching community to ensure we have plenty to search for. If it were not for them, we would not be at this hide today.

finally found a way in and I was so wanting to wear memankini but to cold clothed only
What a beautiful spot.
Thanks for bringing me here.
The tracks leading to GZ are very wet and slippery after the heavy soaking yesterday.
I’m only a novice 4wder so pushing my boundaries.

Thank you for this cache. It brought me to a part oblate Bonnet I would never have thought to visit.
Planned a day trip to Barmera to attend an event and were fortunate enough to be offered an overnight stay. More time for caching. This one was the last cache around the lake for me to find and then it was time for dinner.

Found at 4:30 PM GAFF1.
We enjoyed getting around these tracks to get to GZ. We even went past a nudist bloke who was very proud of his member it seemed.
Saw a whole flock of pelicans roosting on the old timber - looked amazing.
Thanks Aussie M & M

Parked near the new toilet block and walked to GZ. Don't think we could have fitted the campervan through the narrow opening on to the track to GZ anyway.
Lots of tyre tracks though so there probably is an easier way to get to this one if you have a 4WD.
The cache was quickly found and dealt with and then we wandered over to look for turtles. Nope, none there!!!!
On the way back we stopped and sat on a log and just enjoyed the view, and the sun and the peace and quiet here.
Thanks.
PS - No nudists here today either.

Cruising the main road,
I spied the rock pointing the way to this point
A drive out along the well formed road later,
and I passed the newly planted toilet block [:o]
And the signs that not all is 'normal' out this way
Could be a good place to "Nude up for a Smilie" [:o)]
Fortunately too cold for the less inhibited amongst us to be baring all today.
They are mostly over 70 and prune like anyway
Out at the point,
the cache was a noice easy find with just a couple of naked pelicans looking on

A hot windy day and there’s no one around. No boats on lake or at Pelican Point picnic area.
The water was too choppy to see if there was any turtles.
A weekend in the Riverland has been very enjoyable and I have picked up 4 FTFs and some other crane2 caches. Her caches are a good way to see the sights of the area.
TFTC postiegirl06 Thank you for bringing me to this location.

Had been for a drive around the lake getting a few stray caches and one that had been replaced since a DNF last year and we stopped off here as our last for the day on our way back to the caravan park. [^]
Made a quick find and had a look around before heading back to the car.
Geopup did not want to get back in the car so we drove off and she had to run behind us for a couple of kilometres before she was ready to get back in.
Thanks for the cache postiegirl06 and the info on the turtles.

Canoed over from caravan park forgot to put travel big in and no pen to sign the log but was a fun trip otherwise
Sorry for the late log, we misplaced are log notes from the last road trip, Nice location, TNLN
Please excuse this generic log. I am following the 2017 Australian Solo Speedway Championship meetings that are being held in Adelaide, Mildura, Undera and Kurri Kurri, and grabbing some caches along the way.
I have done so many in recent days that I cannot do them individually. Be assured that I enjoyed and appreciated your cache, and I am grateful that you have taken the time to hide and maintain the cache.

Find via the kayak from Lake Bonney. While we didn't see any turtles there is a stump next to a tree where we landed the kayak. From a particular spot this stump looks EXACTLY and I mean exactly, like a short necked turtle! (Unfortunately my photo didn't turn out well enough.)
Good fun!

Great drive around the lake today. Got some good photos too. Nice spot for a cache. Thanks
Brodie, muggle partner and I were at Berri for an event yesterday at our 'home' for the weekend
Today was head for our real home day and I was supposed to be back in Adelaide by 6.30pm for a meeting but at 8pm, we were just leaving Barmera
There was just too many great spots to visit and caches to find
All up, 40 caches for the day (well, 40 after we had been to bed and slept ) and the last 2 were FTFs which required a small (about 20km) detour from our journey home.
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
Muggle partner was tall enough to find the cache and Brodie enjoyed smelling rabbits in the area
Didn't see any turtles

No turtles spotted today but have seen in the past nice to see the attempt in protecting these animals, walked in the short distance from the road along with Mattycat and a quick find today TFTC postiegirl06
Had a great day caching around Lake Bonney and surrounds with
Mr and Mrs Froghoppin. This was an education in turtle breeding and a nice walk.

I've been wanting to grab this one for a while so after work I thought I'd go for a quick drive! Only a short stroll in and a quick and easy find. TTFC!
After the recent rain, the track into this one was a very interesting drive , but a few detours had us at GZ .
TNLNSL.
Great views back across the lake to the caravan park and the sail boat racing today [^].
Didn't see any turtles and someone had left the gate open on the enclosure (we closed it as requested by the sign) [B)].
Thanks for another one Huurtle.

Read sign. . Parked 400 m back nice walk in. Easy find at gz. Tftc left marbles
Drove along the narrow (at times) track and got close but stopped by a very steep dirt mound, walked the final 100 m or so. Nice location looking back across the lake to wards Barmera.
Think we took the wrong track to this cache, but after a few scratches on the geo van we got to within 300 mt. A nice day for a walk and even better when the cache was found. Glad that the Booney turtles are surviving here.
I recently tried two wrong ways in on a day when it was just too hot to walk the remaining distance into the cache. Before I tackled this again I checked with Labchick that I was on the right track and on a much cooler day today quickly located both the way in and the cache. Great spot. Cache #2,060.
Very weird setup as I started at the wrong end of the road. A lovely patch of water. A that was needed was a packed lunch and a fishing rod.
I went for an early morning bike ride around the lake and when I got back to the caravan park everyone was still asleep. So I checked my phone and saw this cache was only 2.7km from there and along a track I had already ridden. So I grabbed a pencil and off I went. As I approached GZ I saw a likely spot and went straight to it, I checked and there it was a nice easy find. TFTC.

A delicious & leisurely lunch, overlooking the Murray wetland lagoons at Banrock, then it was time for a few more caches on our return trip to Loxton in the Suscoe cachemobile, which was a little hesitant about getting too close to this cache. At the end of our walk we found a good sized well stocked cache. We looked hard but did not see any turtles.
Thanks to postiegirl06 for the hunt.

Suscoe was headed out for a day of caching wandering eventually to the North West of Loxton in the good company of Phetlern. We had enjoyed a special lunch for Mr.S's birthday and we were continuing th pal around the roads..
This was our 66th find of the day.
It was a beaut day with loads of sunshine, a gentle breeze keeping things pleasant and lots of fun.
We wandered along a lane in the XR6 and got pretty close and so the walk to GZ was had.
Cache found and then we realised where we were, glad it was a cooler day.
Thanks to postiegirl06 for this cache.
Good to see the Bonney Turtles being looked after.

This cache is a pelican point an area well known locally for it's nudists. I decided to take on this cache from the north driving down lreland road. It was only a short 700m walk to GZ. As I walked along the lake front I past my first nudist, nice enough fellow. As a went further along I spotted a few more, stated to feel a little uncomfortable so I admitted defeat and returned to my car. Next time I'll try from a different route.
Maybe this one shouldn't be recommended for kids.
