Quick find with geokids (StunkyPanda2006 & gnomeo2007). Last cache of the day. TFTC. (#745)
We parked nearby then walked the last couple hundred metres. After reports that this one was probably lost in the bushfires, we took a small black-painted container with us (with log & pen) and, not finding the original container, replaced it at the listed co-ords. Hopefully this replacement will get a few finds as it seems a rather isolated spot but the views out here are worth the visit.
The tree at GZ has been turned into ashes due to the bushfire earlier in the year. I am almost certain the cache has been turned to ash as well...
Knocked off work early as wasn't feeling well. Some caching to cheer me up! As uncle Hagrid has said, walkers only. But it is only a 200 metre walk which really perked me up. Part of the Lavender Federation Trail the sign says. I can't beleive nobody has been here in 8 months. If I had a trackable I would have left it to encourage more to come here. I think I might get a map and do some of the others. Thanks for bringing me here TeamLangy.
It looks like some one does not any cars going down this "road" any more. There is a fence across the road. There is a gap for walkers so I had a nice walk for a quick find.

Nice stroll on a mild sunny spring-like day.
Quiet location, not even the flies were around today.
Water was trickling in the creek, and many photos were taken by Ingy.

Parked the family sedan on the main road and walked down - we can only imagine the fun you had driving along here , even a 4WD would have had trouble today !

I thought it would have been interesting even when using a 4WD vehicle especially getting through that "gate". A nice walk though. TFTC.
Nice day for a ride on the MTB & I was going right past this one!
Easy find in a nice spot!
Easy find in a nice spot!
A quick find after a 200m wander down the track. New tyre tracks indicate the fence must be movable... although it would be a real risk doing this one by car at this time of year. Thanks for a great cache!!!
Looks like it would be a great 4wd track if it wasn't closed off by a fence! Nice walk in though. Easy find. Took spider left pink golf ball.
It would be a fun track to try after rain except you can't get access to it because of a fence. Enjoyed the walk on a cool overcast day. TFTC
what a great spot.... there is a fence preventing anyone from driving right too the cache... there is a sign saying it is an electric fence, but we didn't get a zap....
A nice little detour off of the Kidman Trail. Not so boggy today but a great place for a snack.

Great little side shoot to explore on the Mountain Bikes. Nice echo from the rock face up the creek. A Mad Dog / Etrex ride.
Had an electric fence across the gazetted roadway which was negotiated with extreme caution. Then a nice easy stroll in the rain to GZ.

A quick find on a caching expedition to the Bridge. For most of this caching trip the Geo kids sat in the back with there eyes glued to the portable DVD player, on this track however six year old daughter sticks her head in the front and asks "Are we going to slide of the track and die". After being suitably reassured that it was just bumpy and no dieing of any kind will be happening any time soon she went back to her movie.

My friend Emrys and I were walking the Lavender Federation Trail, so no vehicle attempt for us on the No Through Road. The lid of the cache is cracked and needs replacing. TNLN, TFTC!
I was going by the cache name and headign for the creek line when the GPSr pulled me up short at a bearly visible track. I started the geomobile towards the cache only to stop well short, boy it's rough!, and walked the rest of the way.
The TBG Silver Australia 2007 has been rescued from the cache.
Cache may require a maintenance visit shortly as the lid is starting to crack.

Near my house, so when I went out to check if the river had gone up (25mm rain yay), I decided to drop past. Was very wet, so parked and walked in with wife and puppy. Lid is broken and has leaked slightly. TNLNSL, wanted to take the geocoin, but wasn't sure how quickly i could drop it again, so left it for someone else.
Driving past and noticed an unfound cache.
Would have been no challenge for the Hilux today, but parked just off the road and walked in (need the exercise !!)
Easy find. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Walked to this one as we didn't want to get bogged but had fun trying to push each other in the mud TFTC Took TB
Did it in the GeoCommodore - a little rough but probably wouldnt have made it in the wet. Dropped off TB.
Could see why the name if it had been raining, but not today made this a drive by in the subaru, very carfull driving though.

Yeah! I have a good fun too!!! No swap. SL. Thanks TeamLangy for organising the cache and hunt.
The Noodler found it, from both ends! Interesting track when fully loaded. Took frog, left opal.
Team Slimey found this one. The track is suicide for a car with no clearance. You got to follow through to the end (the rocky terrain is great).

Had a go at this one after a three hour hike with Mrs. A’s walking group. The Corolla got to the start of the scheduled road, took one look, and although the road was dry, said ‘There’s no way I’m going in there!’ So out we got and did the short walk to the GZ and found the cache with no difficulty.

Not boggy at all today, though there were definately some deep ruts in the track. TNLN TFTC
A pretty easy drive in the geopatrol, an easy find, and then a very pretty walk downstream. Much enjoyed by ruddiger, Mrs thirdman and thirdboy.2 Thanks TeamLangy
Good 4wd country around there.I now see why it's called the bog! I left a rex airline magnet and picked up another (different coloured)voogoo fish. Maybe I should start a collection
Found on the Way home from Saunders Gorge Sanctuary. Great location. TNLN

Opted for the walk-in option after heavy rains overnight. Was a bit tempted to take up the 2WD challenge but it would have cost more than the $50 to get towed out. Cheers!
Lest We Forget.
you can keep your $50. although mrs kggy and myself got a little worried at one point... baby voogoo & mrs voogoo were fine with all the bumping and jolting. got some shots of kggy in 4wd action which dont do justice, will post photos later. took eye keyring shaker. left voogoofish badge and TB with crazy name! SL

Came in from the west and left via the east. Nice little 4wd track which would be interesting when wet. Took TB LNSL.

Thanks Teamlangy for the cache and drive
Approached this from the East which proved to be OK except about 400m out where the Pajero was on funny sideward angle. In hindsight, I should have got out and picked a better path through the rocks. Anyway parked next to the cache and left the way I should have come in. TFTH
Not boggy today, but very bumpy from prev thrillseekers and the 4x4's!! [:o)] Decided it was too rough for my low slung geo-mobile, so got out and walked the 150m to the middle of the gazetted road!! (guess the $50 is not mine now!)

No boggy bits today but she is a little bumpy. No hassles in the Hilux from Hell. An easy find. Took frog and left lizard.
Found by Mary & David at 1050. Parked the GeoCalais about 150m from the cache. The track was dry as a bone, so no danger of being bogged. It's a bit closer to the ground than standard, though, and some of the rocks looked too high for comfort. This is a road? Enjoyed the landscape and the peace. Took bouncy ball, left owl. Our thanks to TeamLangy.
Glad it wasnt raining today, although the dried grass would look greener. Thought it best to take the walk in option as the grass looked a bit dry..

Found at 1.44 pm. Not boggy like the picture although it had been raining on and off during the day. I could see that it would not take much rain to make this one a real challenge. Today it was just rocky and dried up bog holes. TNLN Thanks for the cache.
Found 16:45. Third find for the afternoon, a little bit trickier than the last two, thankfully it hadn't been raining!. The Subaru Forrester wasn't quite made for this level of terrain (Mental note: get Shockers fixed this week), but managed well despite this . Took: Green Pen, Left: Blue Ball. TFTC, Cheers.
Pretty obvious spot to have to stop the car for this cache. There are a few trees in the middle of roads in the Blackwood municipally, but you don’t expect them in places like this. If they put a freeway thru here they might remove it. Left green pen TN.
Thanks TeamLangy.
Clear skies, Astro.
We could just see the GeoPatrol from GZ as we decided to walk the last few metres. Gee that would have been fun in winter or when the cache was planted. Took starfish and a thousand local flies. And another thousand local flies hitch hiked back to the car with us. Left belt clip key ring and Klem Bear. Thanks for the fun Langy.
Despite rather heavy rains earlier in the week, the track was mostly dry. The wet patches and the ruts were enough to convince us to take the walk-in option, it was simply too good a day to be digging the Cruze out of a quagmire. Cache contained a little water that we drained out, but other contents were in good dry condition. Took a snake, left a starfish. Thanks TeamLangy.
I drove the Magna to withn 70 m from GZ and then walked the rest. TNLN. Then how to turn the car around between the rocks and ruts, the 4WD visits over winter have certainly chewed the track up. Thanks langy.
The Falcon wagon banged its sump on the previously mention rocks half way in, so at 17.40h I walked the rest of the way. Luckily no permanent damage was done to the trusty chariot. I may post a photo of how far I got in. Took - Whistle. Left - Old Key. TFTC

We can see many have been bogged here. It had been raining recently but all but a few patches were reasonably dry. It's the sharp rocks that needed more caution.

Last one for the day. One look at the tyre ruts and the fact that it had been raining on and off all day convinced me to leave the Geo-Commode at the turnoff and walk the short distance to the cache. I noticed that many others hadn’t. (and some of them looked like they had got seriously bogged. ) Found easily in the obvious spot. The fun in this one is obviously the drive to get it, provided you have the appropriate vehicle [^]. TNLN
There's no way I was going to take the 2wd challenge after the recent rains, not in the geocivic anyway. And besides, I didn't have the video camera to prove anything, so it would have been bogged for nothing.
So we walked in and still got bog all over our shonkyboots.
TNLN.

Enviromental damage?
Sheez guys, get over yourselves!
What do you think the hundreds of tonnes of bitumen you just drove are?
Its a gazetted road FFS.
Give it another month and it'll be grown over again.
Give it another rain and it will return to its natural state.
I mean sheez, a PLOW in a Paddock does worse and it returns to normal after a season.
Cheers

At last a Langy cache that we found first time. Ahh. I feel better now.
Walked to the cach from the main road. Subaru is Klingon for Not enough ground clearance.

It's dried out now but talk about trashed, especially whoever went along the fenceline, even leaving a groove from their diff. Found cache easily after walking in. No frogs, the hawks and eagles have eaten them. Left and hair tie thing and a mini brush. TN
There was enough damage by some unenvironmental hoons, so we parked the GeoDisco and walked in to find this one. TNLN.
Not so boggy today but lots of evidence to the contrary visible. We walked in. Yes boring but kept the car a bit cleaner too. Left starcutter and took frog. Thanks TeamLangy.
Track in VERY cut up. We took the more environmentally friendly option and walked from half way. (Some 4WD Club has apparantly done the damage not Geocachers). Found the tree and the cache easily. Plenty of frogs croaking in the creek near by so that's good for the water system.

Visited this cache so a freind could try out their new 4WD. They soon discovered that locking the hubs correctly made life much easier. Took TB Sheep and left a chicken! Cheers and thanks.
It had dried up a lot since that original picture
When I ventured in with the Suzi it was quite dry.
Would have driven in closer execpt the sunlight was quickly fading and I didnt fancy driving out in the dark.
Left the TB here to continue its journey.

In the area today doing some research for upcoming caches and drove in to grab this one while I was near.
Certainly lived up to its name and I spent a little time with the shovel on the way in! Picked a better line for exit thankfully. Took a couple bucket loads of mud away and left deep wheel marks! Cheers Team Langy, definately a fun drive.

First of three caches this afternoon (other caches being: I Liked the View, Jump or be Pushed).
Found 16/07/05 (16th July) @ 3:50pm by Paul (Team Stargazer). A very easy find since Langy had only just placed the cache while we were in the area for a day's 4wd'ing with the MLR 4wd club.
"Just don't look under that tree over there" they told me.
"Tree?" I said, "what tr.. ohhhhh!"

Found with Team Baggy Greens, we had been out playing. While we walked down to assist in a vehicle recovery from someone who had got themselves in a rather precarious position Langy placed the cache which we found on the way back. TNLN. A great time was had by all! Cheers Langy.
I went out with the 4wd club for the 1st time today. This location proved that there's a lot more to 4wding than the driving. We spent over 3 hours here we drove maybe a total of 400 metres.TNLNSL.
