Logs for Alkoholix

22-Jun-18
After leaving the busy city to come up towards the Peak by tram, we decided to walk a little bit on the Peak trail to enjoy the city from a higher point. This cache has a very fitting name as we had an really amazing view! So we decided to walk on a bit further as the weather was starting to get better.
Thanks for the nice view and the cache and greetings

After visiting the Central Part of Hong Kong today and our wonderful visit to the Peak we had to get back to the hotel. We were lucky in catching the bus towards the pier when coming back from the Peak by tram and so we still had some minutes left to look for the cache which we did find after a couple of minutes.
Thanks for the cache here and greetings

This was our only time taking the Star Ferry in Hong Kong to cross the harbour from one side to the other one side. With the cache we had so much fun trying to answer all questions before the ferry left so that we could enjoy the ride as well!
Thanks for the wonderful Virtual and the kind and fast reply to our mail and greetings

This was our second found in Hong Kong after arriving from Macau. Unfortunately it was already too late to visit the museum. We then headed back towards our hotel to have a light dinner and watch the Symphony of Light.
Thanks for the cache and greetings

Coming up from Puerto Madero and searching for a late lunch we passed this nice cache and tried to dance with the steps provided, unfortunately we did not succeed. But we found the cache and signed the log with very small letters and had something nice to eat on the opposite side of the street.
Thanks for the cache and greetings

This was our last log shortly after midnight after a full day of sightseeing and geocaching in this wonderful town of Sydney. As Chinatown was very near to our accomodation site we just had to take a glimpse there, log the cache and then went back to the hotel to prepare for a early start towards South Korea in the morning.

So many thanks to you Philma and to all the other geocachers in Sydney for their brillinat caches and very nice hides. We enjoyed caching in Sydney a lot!

Greetings

That was probably one of the nicest caches we ever did so far, what a beautiful and peaceful place!
It took us nearly two hours to find all the necessary informations but it was well worth the time as there were so many things to discover.
After we clarified some misunderstandings on our side with the answers the cache was nearly found spot on.
This was a nice beginning for our 3rd day of geocaching in Sydney.

Thank you so much for this cache, we really liked it a lot and will gladly give a fav point for it!

Greetings

We would have very much liked to do some other caches of the series, but we only managed to get this one due to just not enough time. But we liked this one here very much, even if we first had a wrong box in our hands and were quiet surprised.... this is a brillinat hide!

Thanks a lot for bringing us out to Manly and to this great cache site and greetings

We do love solving mystery puzzles especially, when they have a kind of historical or otherwise interesting background about the country, town or the people living there as have the Forgotten Australians. So this series was a "must" on the to-do-list in Sydney.
To find the person took a couple of minutes, to find the cache even less as it fortunately seemed to be muggle-free at this time of day.

Thanks for this lesson in history and the hide and greetings
Alkoholix

We thought we would only be able to find 2 of the Forgotten Australians-series but with the wonderful public transport sytem in Sydney we covered a lot more ground than we thought would be possible. So this was the next on the list and on the way. Here the person asked for was more easily found than the actual box. This one took us a few moments but finally Stefan managed to grab this one as well.

Thanks for this wonderful series and greetings

Today was mystery day and this was the second of the forgotten Australians series that we could find.
Another interesting puzzle that took us a little while to solve but was found within seconds due to the good hint.
Again we learned more about the Australian history and would like to thank you for that.

Greetings

On our way to catch the ferry for Manly the bus we stayed on stopped right in front of this cache. So we seached for it right away and Stefan got the lucky hand and found it rather fast.
Thanks for bringing us here to this interesting spot and greetings

After our nice lunch at the Sydney fish market we decided to try this multi cache for a short after lunch walk, because we liked the information in the listing a lot and found it very interesting. The information from Purgatory, Paradise and Hellhole were easily retrieved and we walked some minutes to GZ. Here Stefan was able to locate the cache after a few minutes and we could log and enjoy the view from the cache site.

Thanks for this interesting multi and greetings

After coming back from Manly when the sun was coming down we decided that we just had to do this multi cache as kind of a glorious finish to some very nice days with sightseeing and caching in Sydney.
This cache seems to represent the beginning of this town and so it was a must-do on the list. It took us quiet a while longer than we thought but it was well worth time and effort because it brought the history of this beautiful town into a reachable grasp even today.
We liked it really a lot and we will gladly give a fav-point for it as we enjoyed the caching and the history lesson within a lot.

Thanks for this brilliant cache and greetings

What a fun cache!
Somehow we happened to start this one from the last waypoint and went right to GZ where we seached and searched and searched until finally we just trusted the coordinates and the instinct and there it was, brilliant hide! We loved it.

Thank you for bringing us to this very nice park and for this new idea of hiding a cache.

Greetings

Here we circled GZ for quite a while until Stefan finally managed to spot the box and then we went on to see the surfers at the world famous Bondi-Beach!

Thanks for the cache and greetings
Alkoholix

Oh my goodness, this was was hard to solve for me (Katja). Everytime I looked at it I just did not know what to do... When I asked Stefan if he could have a look and try to help, it was a couple of minutes until we had the final coordinates...

Thank you for this very nice puzzle cache and greetings
Alkoholix

A very nice multi cache with a really sad background story.
We found the information required and the cache box easily enough and logged with hopefully no one around.

Thanks for bringing us to this monument for all the brave people and greetings
Alkoholix

Here we needed some time. First there were treeworks going on around GZ, then the coordinates sent us about 30m away from where we finally found the cache and in addition, we had no clue what the hint did mean...but as this was not our first cache, we just widened a bit the already covered ground, the we found the hint and there it was!
Thank you for this fine cache and greetings
Alkoholix

Oh my, I think this took us about more than an hour to find this one, we searched and searched and searched for it, had to wait again because of muggles and searched again. But afterwards it was not that difficult if you just try to see what is clearly in front of you. Nevertheless we enjoyed the view from up here, we even saw some dolphins in the water, and the story about the mermaids and we left two TBs that wanted to go to Australia. Mission accomplished Smile

In: 2 TB
Out: Nothing

Thanks for the cache and greetings

Uups, we did not know that the cache was deactivated but we had no problem in finding it. A very nice place we were shown here! We enjoyed the park a lot and strolled down to the pool before trying to find the next cache.
Very nice container by the way!

Thanks for this superb cache and greetings
Alkoholix

First I (Katja) searched on the wrong side for the Troll-box but the only thing I found there was a bag with dog poo inside, ihhhhhh. Then Stefan helped searching and found the cache right where I had looked before. I have probably just been too blind because of all the sights around us...Sydney really is a very nice city!
Thanks for the cache and greetings
Alkoholix

This one took us a while to find, we read and re-read the description and after a while the box made itself visible to us. Maybe there were some elves around helping us to find it?

Thanks for the cache and greetings
Alkoholix

Wow, that took us a while to find this one! Somehow we just seemed to be too stupid to see the obvious...maybe because of all the livestock watching us?

Thanks for this nicely camouflaged cache and greetings

We really do love the Matrix trilogy but we did not know where the movies were shot. So when we started to look for the caches we would like to do during our short stay in Sydney, we knew these caches had to come on the bookmark list!
Unfortunately the one neraest to our appartement was not available at this time, so we wanted at least to find this one here.
To find the plaque was not a problem and to find the container as well.

Thanks for this nice pice of information and the multi-cache and greetings
Alkoholix

This Eartchcache was a "must-do" on our list for Sydney. Unfortunately we had some difficulties in understanding and answering the questions but we sent the answers we think might be right to the CO.
If there are problems please delete the log.
Sydney Harbour Bridge really is an impressive structure and - I think - we took lots of pictures only of the bridge because from every other angle whereever you look from it just looks magnificent!

Thank you for all the informations and the lesson in geology and this Earthcache and greetings
Alkoholix

That was the first cache in Sydney and therefore in Australia as it was our first visit here on our tour around the world.
Because the appartement we had rented was not available that early in the morning we took the shuttle down to Circular quay for a first quick overview and because we do not know the other writers, we choose Sir Arthur Conan Doyles plaque as well. We like the Sherlock Holmes stories a lot, even the modern series is kind of funny.
Thank you for taking us to this interesting "Walk of Fame" and greetings

Great idea for a puzzle cache which we liked very much. Stefan solved it after putting the listing aside before again and again. But then, after a few minutes of hard thinking [:o)] the mystery was solved and today we went to GZ. An amazing place for the cache container! An ecxellent cache all around, we loved it!

Thanks for the puzzle and the final location and greetings
Alkoholix

After the visit to League of Ireland - Shelbourne we walked over to this cache as well after the questions were already answered last year (by the way: thanks for the cornfirmation of the coords back then!). First we took a wrong way to get to GZ but finally we fond the right path and the cache.

Thanks for all the interesting bits of information and the questions and greetings

We solved the puzzle already last year when we first tried to come to Dublin for a few days of caching and sightseeing and we loved to see that it is still active.
So when walking around the beautiful garden today we just happened to pass the right spot, grab the box and log the cache Wink.

Thanbks for the puzzle and the nice surrounding area at GZ and greetings

Hmhmhm, what to write down in the online log now without "spoilering"?
We will just log this here: this was a really fun cache which Stefan loved to solve!
So we just had to try and find the container as well which we did today right in front of ... but that would be a spoiler again Big Grin.

Thanks to O-T-P for this brilliant puzzle and for the box and greetings
Alkoholix

And another of these puzzle caches in Dublin which Stefan had to solve because I (Katja) for myself was just to blind to see... Red Face. When checking out the coordinates on google maps it was clear that this would be one of the caches on the list we really wanted to search for. It's a really interesting site which we surely would never have gotten to without this cache.

So thanks for the puzzle and the hiding place and greetings
