Nice hidding spot. Neatly tucked away. Paid a visit on a cold wet and windly winter's afternoon after a run up Mt KauKau. What better day to go geocaching.

I'd have to rate this as my favorite Wellington cache so far. It had views, it had bush, it had tracks and it had history. Great out the way spot that you'd never visit otherwise. With a secluded outlook like it boasts its well worth a visit. A bit of bush bashing and a steepish track all added to the spice.

Mountain biked up to the cache on a more blusterly than usual autumn afternoon. Had to abandon riding out to the final 200m as was getting blown off bike. It was really honking even by Wellington standards.
Nice and easy to find. Good spot.

Visited on an overcast late afternoon. Liked the secondary hunt. Took a moment or two of bush bashing. By the signs the bushes had been bashed by quite a bit of fellow cache hunters before us. In the end it was easier to find than we thought.

After 10 mins of GPS accuracy hopelessly floating around finally found it just behind where I'd been sitting when I first arrived. Not too many people around so it was a great spot for a midcity cache.
Many, many possible nooks and crannies to hide a cache so if your GPS has a bad accuracy day then your in for a good hunt! For a while there it was trying to tell me it was 5m out into the lagoon.
+ : 20c.
- : nothing

Another miss too.
I figured that it was under the tree and searched the whole lot but nothing obvious. As this is a really populated spot at lunch hour I'm thinking its not improbable that some nefarious lunch time visitor may of discovered it by mistake – and whipped it.

Visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Nice spot among the long dead. Not wrong about the tight fit either.
Nil I/O but will plan a revisit with some goodies soon.

Find #2. Bit blustry on the day we visited. Seemed fairly easy to locate - the clues a dead give away. Left travel bug in cache.
Found 25/02/2006. Our first geocache with our shiny new eTrex. Bit of bush bashing involved to find a cache cunningly hid under the prescribed tree root system. Wife left on hill top wondering where her stupid husband had disappeared to but found never the less.
