Recently aquired new bike so figured a trip up to Walka to do a spot of geocaching might be a good way to give it a good test run. Found cache again without much trouble, left an entry in the log book. Didn't remove or add any items to the cache (forgot to bring anything with me). Then enjoyed a good ride around the trails. This cache would be suited a beginner, so if you're new, come down and have a shot then enjoy a walk around the grounds.

Waited patiently at home base for incoming commuique from A6. Nothing received. Working on the assumption that A6 was missing, presumed dead, decided that heading up there myself might be a good idea. So, hopped back on the two wheeled pain-in-the-neck and preceded to cache co-ordinates.
After passing the boom gate (HAHA Bikes don't have to pay!!!),locked bike up and headed into dark and unforgiving bush......NOT!
A previous quick search on the Internet revealed the co-ordinate information I needed (despite someone telling me that, and I quote You won't find anything on the Internet. Came up with 2 possible co-ordinates. Headed in the direction of the first one. No luck, punched in second set and 2 minutes later, hey presto!
Having found cache and dodged local wildlife (The Kangaroo was stalking me I swear), filled in the log book and swapped refresher towels and soap for a compass keyring thingy, decided to grab the bike and have a good ride around the new walking trails. Interesting afternoon! Thanks Steelrat, I'm looking forward to the next one!

I've had a shot at this one before, so I figured that I might take another shot at this one on my own. Rode the 14km from Lorn to Morpeth on my trusted 2-wheeled, chain driven friend otherwise known as a bicycle, with a head-wind not exactly helping the situation! LOL! Anyway, finally arrived in Morpeth after 40 mins of battling, and followed the GPS to the approximate cache spot. Spent a good 45 minutes searching and STILL COULDN'T FIND THE DRATTED THING!!! In the middle of my search, an elderly couple walked up and asked what on earth I was doing. After an lengthy explaination (I think they were sufficiently impressed, perhaps they might try it?) I got back to searching. Still not luck however. I might take the car up tomorrow and try again. I'm not exactly up for another 28km bike ride! (14KM x 2)

A-6 and myself (we seem to be a team of sorts) set out to have a shot at this one. Arrived at cemetary without much ado, set out to look for correct stones (after A-6 had FINALLY sorted out his co-ordinate problems, making me think my GPS was off with the fairies!)
Found all 4 reference headstones without much trouble, then set off to look for the geocache itself. And bugger me, we couldn't get close enough! GPS pointed in general direction of impassable foliage.
Time constraints eventually killed off our attempts, but rest assured, one (or both) of us will be back to seek revenge! Will probably leave can of WD-40(Wouldn't want him to rust, now would we?) for Steel Rat...or maybe something more sinister.........

A-6 found this one (After we foraged around a bit) but unfortunately it looked as though it had been looted, the box was there however the contents had been removed. Found packaging of probably cache contents nearby. A-6 said he'll deal with it...Still enjoyed the hunt however!
Third in a Series of Caches was found by me (Finally!). Contents were still there but severely waterlogged! A-6 saved as many logs and intact items as possible, some items (mainly the bandages) had to be removed as they had split open and were soaked through. Restocked with goodies and replaced. BTW the co-ordinates were a fair way off so perhaps cache owner should check to make sure (I would have but I can't be sure I'm 100% accurate, I've only been using GPS for 2 days!) Overall great day, lots of easy caches for a beginner like myself to get stuck into! Throughly enjoyed!!! Thanks!!!
On the way home, though we might have a shot at this one. Grabbed some chips in town then headed to the park. A-6 and I ventured in to locate the Cache. A-6 had found it previously but allowed me to go ahead and try and find it myself. After some time, had A-6 help me, still couldn't find it. Nuts! Seems that the cache had been removed(Council most likely)as A-6 knew the exact spot and it wasn't there nor nearby! Still had good meal in park and severely nauseated myself on the new play equipment (A must try for G-Force junkies!!!)
Went GeoCaching for the first time with A-6 today. We found this Cedar Retreat Cache first. It was a little damp but otherwise fine. Better let A-6 take the most credit as I was really only tagging along trying to get my GPS sorted. I'll be caching for a long time to come, thanks for the great introduction! BTW it seems the Park Rangers don't like people poking around the bushes so keep an eye out and if possible carry a small portable UHF CB and scan the channels, it helped myself and A-6 hightail it out of there before getting busted!!!
