Logs for Haggis Hunter
07-May-19
Just arrived in Berlin and this was to be the first stop. However access to the gate was closed due to Prince Charles and Camilla visiting. I also don't know German so I am hoping the cache owner will allow a photo log.

I can't believe the only letterbox cache I done today and I had Cheeky Abs stamp in my pocket instead of mine. A wonderful little place, obviously the trees have been allowed to just grow around this and it has became enclosed. I also wonder where the slippery brick path goes to?

Thankfully there hasn't been a lot of rain lately so it wasn't that muddy. The cache is damp and may need to be looked at.

I was expecting a bit of a challenge for this, but the only difficulty was getting a good reception on the GPS. The cache needs some TLC, as it is wet and the log is damp.

There were loads of young school kids out on an outing near this. I managed to locate the cache without causing any suspicion though.

Another quick find, but time was starting to run out for me, so I had to get a bit of a move on.

GPS was playing up again at this one, but I got there without to much hassle. Nice big box.

Thankfully this series wasn't to hard to find the caches. I had one or two to many DNF's today.

I spent ages hunting for this. The GPS was going all over the place. I then decided to start ignoring all the logs that I had turned over and started looking under the many fallen trees that were lying about. Sure enough I came up trumps. So this left me wondering at which point does a tree become a log?

Looks like I started this series back to front. I managed to visit all of the caches with the exception of number 7, which means I didn't get the last 3 digits that I required for the bonus cache. I suppose I will just have to hope that Mrs HH wants to go back to Braehead in the near future so that I can finish the series off.

Far too much rubbish and glass lying about to search for this properly. What I did find stashed away above the seat in the pagoda was an open half bottle of vodka. I came to the conclusion that if it belonged to a person who was old enough to drink, then it wouldn't be stashed away. So I opened and emptied it and returned it to its hiding place, so that the owner would get the message not to leave such things lying about.

I went rummaging in the woods as I took the clue to literally. Once I came back I realised how foolish I had been. Such an easy find.

With reference to the Swanmel Dragon Race, please do not use an announcement on here to inform those participating about the race. I have not entered this race and therefore do not wish to be spammed with emails about it. Which is what is happening because I attended the event and have logged as such on here.
Thank you

Today was my Brother in Law's birthday, and he had never been to London or on a plane and is a Royalist. So what better birthday treat can you get than taking him on a plane to London to see the Royal Wedding.
We walked here from St. Pancras and it was about 4;45am when we got here. The gates were locked and the area is probably not the best area at that time of the morning so we moved on quickly.

It's a good job you now get a notification of when a cache that has your TB in it gets archived, otherwise it may have been a good while before I found out the cache had been muggled and all trackables had gone.

Mrs HH gave me a leave pass for the morning so of course I went out to do the obvious.
As I was working off of a dated PQ due to GC.com being down I hadn't realised that this was disabled and that Goathland Steamer had been archived. I started off by doing a search for the physical cache, but soon realised that I was drawing attention to myself from staff. Which at the time I thought it was because I was the only person in the station and of course what I was doing may have looked dodgy, I now know it's because they knew what I was doing and may not have been happy! [:(!]
Anyway, I decided to stop searching for Goathland Steamer and do the virtual instead, still not realising that this has been disabled, so thanks to Tony for allowing me to log my find.
I do recommend coming to do this cache, as this is a location worth visiting.
Cheers

First of a few today. we had planned on caching for the day around the area, but the weather was so wet that we decided to head home getting one or two caches on the way.

Thanks for recovering the box. It's a pity that most of the contents have also gone, but I have been out today and replaced the logbook and pencil. It's quite obvious that this cache is now known to muggles, so I think it may just be a matter of time before it is archived!

Not long until this event, good luck to everyone who participates. I am sure you are going to have a great time? I shall be watching the logs closely, as my Hunt & Munch is only 2 weeks later.

As I am on the other side of the Atlantic I haven't actually been there, but I did find it after a short search. It certainly does look impressive.

This is the Union Bridge, which goes over the River Tweed, and also links the border for Scotland & England.
When the Union Bridge was built in 1820 it was the longest iron bridge in the world.
It is the oldest suspension bridge in Britain to still carry Vehicles across it.
The support on the English side is actually built into the cliff face. (Guess the English needed some help with keeping their side of the bargain up )

This lighthouse is so historic that it was called a Lantern Tower. It was built in 1812.
It is a small octagonal tower, which was the all weather lantern used to guide ferry vessels safely to the town pier of North Queensferry, Fife, Scotland.

This bridge carries the A707 over the River Tweed North of Selkirk, Borders, Scotland. I'm afraid that I didn't get any details of it, but as you can see it is an old bridge.
