Coming from Melbourne .... looking forward to it. Bring it on. Just me attending (for now), and not sure if I'm bringing anything.

Lovely meeting everyone. Many thanks, and perfect timing. Plus who can say "no" to ice cream.

This is the reason I enjoy geocsching so much. Discovering little "pots of gold" like this. Many thanks to McAdies for creating this awesome cache. Brilliant. I'm going to attach 2 photos. The one without my name is my fave, however I couldn't contort myself to take a photo of my real fave item and my hand in the same photo. Here in town for a Basketball tournament at Selkirk all week. Hoping to attend a social gathering as well, if I'm not too exhausted.
I'm really hoping to attend. I have quite a crazy busy week coming up, so I'lldo my best. Warm regards,Obi-Cal

No hints asked for, and somehow still managed to grab this.
Having lived in this for a lot years, going back to when this was still Boral bricks ....wow. Just plain wow. High density living must be the new "black" ... the new trend. They're like lego housed.
Thank you to ahomburg for placing and maintaining this geocache.

Dear Organised, Volunteers, Sponsors, and everyone involved with organising this year's MEGA ....
Thank you. A big wet sloppy thank you, from both myself and my geo-wifey 10pmMeerkat
We had an absolute ball, caught up with some old friends that we hadn't seen in ages ... (one of which is in the attached photo), possibly the last local MEGA in Alexandra last year ... and as always, the standard just keeps getting more betterer and betterer (that wording is for ahomburg .... he'll know the meaning of the poor English. ).
Keep up the awesome work, and one specific thing that my wife and I really appreciated, is that the Event was so central. We're physically able to drive Really long drives anymore, and from Oakleigh to Parkville was perfect.
Warmest regards,
Callum (Obi-Cal) & Shelli (10pmMeerkat)

I've moved too far away, and am no longer interested enough to perform maintenance on this geocache. Sadly as a result, I'm now archiving it.

I got to 11:30pm on International Geocaching Day, and I'm sitting on the couch after working that night. I had this vague memory nagging at me, and then it dawned on me!! I haven't found and logged anything today! (Expletive expletive)
Thankfully I'd done a lot of the hard yards in the previous 3-6 months, made many mistakes with the math along the way, but I was 99% sure now, where it was ... and this was very close to home.
Now admittedly we're both quite vertically challenged, so I suspected this would might be difficult to retrieve. Furthermore geo-wifey (10pmMeerkat) struggled with the terrain, but after scrambling around and taking a small step ladder ... I hope that's not cheating, we had success. WooHoo!
Geocache is in fantastic condition, plenty of log space left. In fact, it looked like it had been recently replaced.
Many thanks to ahomburg for placing this geocache.

Wow, this Geo-Event had been in the works for quite some time, and after requesting whether ahomburg would be interested in taking over Geocaching Event reigns, and he said "Yes!", I was absolutely stoked! In my mind, this would help bridge the sometimes rocky relationship between geocaching and some of the other go-locations out there.
Whichever game(s) we all enjoy, this Event was absolute proof that all geo-peoples can and do "CoExist" together in perfect harmony.
As one of the Hosts of the "other" geo-Events, my humblest thank you to ahomburg for putting this together. As much as both games always have the ability to beautifully compliment each other, this particular Event/day was always going to run smoother with a seasoned Geocacher looking after Hosting of the the Caching Event, and hosting as per caching protocols.
Oh, and to whomever supplied those bushman's sausages, wow .... plain wow! The tastiest snags you will Ever find IMO. Double wow to that Awesome Barbeque bicycle. That has Got to be one The coolest
inventions I've seen in ages!
All in all, thank you. Thank you to ahomburg. Thank you to our guests from all around Australia and indeed from Texas (USA) and the UK. It brought a really great Int'l feel to the whole day.
Pure awesomeness, all 'round!
Cheers,
Obi-Cal and 10pmMeerkat

I'd love to say this was a nice "park and grab" kinda find, and it usually Would be ... however in hindsight I was having a classic "boy look" kinda day, and spent roughly 25 minutes before my geo-partner 10pmMeerkat rocked up ... who is a complete rookie I might add, and then it was finally in our hands within another 2-3 minutes.
Meh, it happens.

Out for a morning stroll after having a great weekend in Shepp visiting friends and working at the National Wheelchair Basketball games at the Shepp Stadium. I couldn't head back to Melbourne without finding a quick cache, and this was it.
I've always loved the Mooving Art Exhibition in this area, so this was my cache I was hoping to find. And Find it I did.
Took quite a bit of scrambling around, however the cache was located, signed and back in place in quick time, and I was off to find something even more important .... lunch!
Many thanks to pooley16 for placing this geocache.

Find: #200 !! (YAY ... insert happy dance here).
A massive thank you to all the Geocaching guys and gals who attended my little Event.
When I'd originally planned this Event I wasn't aiming for a milestone, however as the Event got closer I decided to aim for my 200th find today ... and I did!
Today's event had people who are very local and live in and around "The Island", however we also had many travellers, including 3 or 4 honourable mentions from Shepparton, which I was stoked by.
All in all, everyone seemed happy, which is usually a good indicator. Many people wandered around chatting, munching on food, or out finding caches. Of the people who decided to explore local caches, one person sadly discovered a destroyed older Mystery nearby, however most others seemed to head off in the direction of the local Cowes Library ...
Anyways, to all those who attended, you helped make the Event very special. Many of you I hadn't met before, and it was fantastic to put faces to names finally, and I thank you All for your attendance.
Kindest regards,
Obi-Cal

Thankfully I had my geo-skyray, and had a good amount of torch light. Eventually after finally claiming a happy victory (AKA: found it), I emerged from the trees and scrub with a few minor scrapes.
Meh, I've had worse.

I'm an idiot. I should have walked the 400 odd metres from the other nearby cache I found 2 days ago!

Long day of family and a funeral today. No better way to clear my head and help myself relax than go out for a walk and find a few caches (hopefully).
This was nice and close to where my "function" had been, and given I'm pretty familiar with this park, I drove straight in, took one look at GZ and had a good strong edumacated guess where this was. After signing the log, two unfamilar faces started wandering towards me, looking slightly less suspicious than I did. We had a good chat after introducing ourselves, and shared our appreciation for this cache.
As camo's go, this is brilliant and Completely in plain site in what can be a Very busy little sporting park.

After collecting the info needed for this cache a few days ago, I'd been waiting for an opportunity for my next "drive-by" of this area. I share the sad sentiments of many of the previous loggers. Uncle Jeff was largely responsible for a lot of school closures, back in the day. Sadly not for the betterment of our State or country in my humble.
Anyways, back to the cache. Did my maths at home and thankfully found my calculations were spot on. Lovely little cache.

Out caching with ahomburg tonight, having an absolute ball ... and quite a lot of caching success, when we started to get close to this "Challenge" which I'd eyed off before, and then thankfully (in hindsight) it started to rain. This time no such luck, and I'm not to proud to admit, I needed some serious assistance from the vertically blessed (and a bit crazy) ahomburg, to help retrieve this little $% from its hiding spot.
This was particularly nasty for a vertically challenged individual like myself, particularly given severe spinal issues, but again ahomburg to the rescue and after much logicing, thinking, endless circling, we snuck a quick message to the CO to gain some insight into the whereabouts of this pesky micro.
Within 5-10 minutes and lots of scrambling, climbing, and reaching in ways the body just shouldn't reach, we had the little sucker in hand.
Thanks to lukie1987 for placing this cache. TNLN (cheeky grin).

Out caching with ahomburg tonight, and this was our first target. ahomburg had found most of tonight's caches, however as always, caching is much more fun with a friend(s), so I was very happy to have someone to chat with as I ended up finding 13 (a new record for me I think) over the course of the 4 (ish) hours we were out and about.
