Logs for Port Eagleeye

17-Jul-15
I am on a Geo-Caching road trip from Port Alberni BC Canada to grab caches and go after the oldest caches in 8 states and provinces. We expect to put on around 15000 kilometers or 9000 miles, in 3 weeks, while doing this road trip and look forward to the adventure. I started out with a cacher from my home town and her name is Ididit and after 9 days we are still having a good time. We started the day in East Phoenix and went after the oldest cache in Arizona then made our way up to the Sky Walk over the Grand Canyon West Wall and ended up spending the night in Kingsman, caching all along the way, what a great day.To top it all off we were treated to a incredible thunder and lightening storm that we had to stay up late and watch All of the caches were in good condition and my thanks to the CO's for placing these caches and making this holiday possible. Today was day 11 and the fun continues, too bad about the 100+ degree temperatures. I apologize for the cut and paste of the logs however there were so many to log tonight.

We started out from parking at 7 am and it was already 84 degrees out. We walked down the road and were sweating about 20 minutes in. We got to where we had to head into the desert and looked at the GPS and cringed when we saw 1/2 a mile. We made our way with not too many stumbles, man those cacti are sharp, until we got to about 3/4 the way. At that point, with me in the lead, I spotted our first snake, it had diamond colored markings on it's back however no rattle on it's tail. I coaxed it along on it's way with my walking stick and then we continued along to GZ. We made a quick find then time to head out. 1 1/2 hours later we were back at the truck a little sorer from close encounters with the cacti and dripping wet with seat for now it was 94 degrees out. We took more water and sat in the truck with the AC on for about 10 minutes before driving away. thank you so much for the fun.

We expect to put on around 15000 kilometers or 9000 miles, in 3 weeks, while doing this road trip and look forward to the adventure. I started out with a cacher from my home town and her name is Ididit and today was our first full day of caching. We started the day in Blaine Washington and made our way to Ellensburg Washington and went past the oldest cache in Washington to save it for the trip home. All of the caches were in good condition and my thanks to the CO's for placing these caches and making this holiday possible.

Today was day 5 and we started off heading after the oldest cache in Utah. We left our stuff in the hotel 2 hours away and headed up here, leaving the hotel at 5:30 local time. With the help from a PAF yesterday we were able to find a better way in then yesterday. Yesterday we came in from Mt. Pleasant and came up Ski Line Road and let me tell you that is a very dangerous road at this time with gumbo mud and we just about did not make it off the hill. Today we walked straight to it and Ididit made a quick find. Thank you so much for the fun cache.
