Logs for Shax_is

Wow, long time without Internet, made it hard to log this. It was a nice easy stroll on a day full of caching which I found about half of. This one was fun, I always love a good rock scramble.

Great little cache, was a good day of caching this day... But a long time without Internet means I can't remember if I took or left anything behind... Oh well. It was fun. I love the wrapping on it too.

Last cache on my trip home from uni. I wasn't really wearing the right shoes for the day which caused a few injuries but nothing serious. Really enjoyed this one, I was racing the sun to find. I did find a young snake in the hollow in the tree, possibly red belly but not sure so keep an eye out.

My first cache on the way home from Uni. I wasn't wearing the right shoes for this one and kept slipping over on the needles but it was still fun. I love the caches where you are just about to give up then you spot it. Thanks for a nice trip home and the cache. Took TB, left TB.

Decided to do a few caches on the way home from uni today. Only managed three out of the four but was still a good day.
This was a pretty spot and a nice cache. TNLN

After watching this one weeks on my way to and from work and had the perfect chance this morning to nab it. Thank God for wet cold Sunday mornings.
I shall always see it on my way to work now. Ha Ha

Oh and today I had to go up from the harbour. stupid escalators always breaking.

For any one planning on going the gully way my advice is don't. Unless you are wearing nice long pants and a tough long sleeve shirt that is.
After bearely surviving the weeds that caused what may be termed "death by a thousand paper cuts" I gave up and decided to head up the gully, ending up in someone's back yard. Then decided since I was there I might as well view GZ from above.
This time may have been a no find but I will come back with a buddy and some abseiling equipment another time.

I had fun with this one. First cache of the day and a good one to start off with. Though I made a few little problems for myself.
My GPS was a little off so I decided to decode the hint... Between the gates really meant nothing so I wandered off for a little while before realising I had decoded the wrong hint ... oops.

When I came back the first spot I looked was too dark so I nearly gave up when I remembered that my fancy camera had an auto focus light which became my caching torch. I looked in another two spots with my new torch before finding it in the first spot I looked... such is caching though.
This was a great idea. Thoroughly enjoyed.

After the day of caching I had I was glad to make this find, even if I struggled a little to lift the cache.
A nice easy find on a beautiful day. Took RAF badge left San Fran key ring. TFTC

Nice quick simple cache. Took nothing. Left my pen as the one there wasn't working. No animal sightings to report today.
Boy the memories it brought back. This was the first cache I ever found it was on a caching race with friends, we were the Super Happy Best Friends (or something like that.) I was going through the log and that was 2 and 1/2 years ago :O! It's taken me that long to branch out and cache on my own... To think of all that lost caching time...

07-Sep-08
Well... This one was an adventure that nearly saw me in tears and not for the usual caching reasons.
Everything started out fine, nice sunny morning, little bit of a breeze but all good, GPS in hand some good swaps i was ready to go.
From the start it wasn't too bad, there were some old boys playing with their planes on the oval. One of the plans flew after me into the bush for a fair way, I was immagining it having some kind of Camera or something on it and playing spies in my head and really enjoying the walk.
The ground was a little wet and slippery but no worries there. The view from that lookout was spectacular, coming back with my camera soon!
Going off the path wasn't too bad but that's were the problems started. Got to GZ fairly easily and after a short impromptu rock scramble found the cache no problem... Took TB left my caching mirror ... The bush bash on the way back however went for a lot longer then 300 meters. I got startled by a number of dear, it got cold, clouded over and I was really feelign quite lost.
Genius that I am I headed west knowing there would be a highway eventually. After some more bush bashing I heard the old man spy planes and they led me back to the car.
It wasn't as bad as it sounds, I saw some great animals, birds and some plants I have never seen before and there were lots of pretty flowers.
A valuable lesson was learnt. Take the coordinates of the car Smile TFTC

A nice night trip out after uni. Found around 8pm so not a hard one in the dark. Syumbled around for a little but a good trip and nice to see parts of Penrith I don't usually visit. Will definitely be coming back in daylight hours.
TNLN.

Had a good night out on my own after Uni and found this one at ariund 8pm. Thankfully it wasn't wet and I had a torch. Took bug left floss. Left some blood on a rock after grazing my knuckle.

Wen't caching with the boyfriend today and the weather was fantastic! There were very few people around and we had no trouble finding the cache. This was the only one out of the three that I actually found so very happy for myself.

Saw some fantastic birds along this track, right time of year for all the males to be looking their best. Spotted some kind of marsupial thing as well which was pretty cool, just sad I hadn't thought to bring the camera along today.

Took a girl guide patch and magnet and left a highlighter and a mascot from the Beijing games.

[This was my second trip to this spot and today it was found. I wouldn't have found it though if it wasn't for the fact I had the boyfriend with me.] He was tall enough to spot it. [Good spot to start the day. Not too many cars out on the road.]

Went out caching with the Boyfriend today, sadly he found two out of the three we went hunting for and this was one of them.

I'd never been to this part of the Natio before and it was a fantastic little walk, once I realised i'd given bad directions and sent us up lady carington drive by mistake. I loved the scenery and saw some really pretty birds as well. TNLN

Just to note though it looks as though some water may have made it's way into the cache as things are a little bit damp.

Fun morning out. Managed to get lost on the way but got to see some pretty cool things that I wouldn't have otherwise (like a a three trunked gum tree with a pool in the middle!) I had just given up when I spotted it, good hide.
