Logs for Sianald2

16-Dec-21
A wet day in Tekapo so what better time to go geocaching. Unfortunately I didn't bring a pen on holiday and couldn't find one at the accommodation so haven't signed the log. I do have photos I can send though including one of a bunch of Canadian Geese swimming by.

Wet day so out for a walk. Didn't intend geocaching on holiday so didn't bring a pen so haven't signed the log. Have a photo to send to show I got it. What a great spot for a cache. The rain started to clear and the beautiful blue/green water showed lots of reflections.

The colour of the water is magical and changes with the weather. Really cool to see.

10-Oct-21
A beautiful peaceful place to be. No planes so no noise just background humming. Here on a quick circuit before we fly out.

While waiting for our flight we did a quick loop of the airport. Loved watching little planes take off.

Too many muggle golfers today to have a decent srarch

Serenaded by frogs while finding cache. Have very wet feet now as long grass hasn't dried out yet!

So many muggles today. Spent ages looking at the pictures. A guy turning onto his driveway was also watching us. Got, signed, replaced. Heading for breakfast now.

04-Oct-21
Found it in the the pouring rain. Husband had good eyes now off to do a walk

Found this one on the 3 October while waiting for our ride to Totaranui. Then spent a wonderfully sunny day walking back to Wainui Bay via Separation Point. A beautiful area and we even saw a large pod of what we think we're Pilot Whales.

Pouring with rain today so took rental car for a trip to St Arnaud. Nice stop along the way. Always feel conspicuous when surrounded by houses. Loved camo.

A place I have never ventured to before. Was worried when I saw a ute at GZ but a family was way out on the mud flats. This was a really cool hide, one of my favourites.

On a pouring wet day we escaped to St Arnaud in our rental car for a short walk and photo opportunity. It is so pretty even in the rain. TFTC it brought me back here to a place I love.

Found this one the 3 October as we headed back over the hill to Nelson after a long day walking in the Abel Tasman Park. Such a beautiful way to end the day. Very interesting sheep in this area too.

A break in the rain so we sat close by and ate lunch. A very tranquil place to be. Thanks for bringing us here.

GPS had is bouncing all over the place and standing in the middle of nowhere Read hint and back on track. Found! Think it had lost its stick as not where I think it should have been.

Huge eels here today too.

02-Oct-21
A beautiful day to explore this area. A cheeky Weka came out to check out Maths a Weka also spotted up by cache.

A beautiful stop on the way to Abel Tasman walk. Lots of dogs around so not many birds. Found in between cyclists.

25-Sep-21
A beautiful day for a spot of Geocaching so we headed into the Pureora Forest. It has been many years since I have been there and you forget just how beautiful a spot it is. TFTC and bringing me back here.

A beautiful walk to a peaceful spot. Enjoyed reading about the history and inspecting the Crawler.

I haven't been hear since me kids were little and now they are adults. Such a beautiful spot with so much birdlife. We saw several Kereru and heard many other birds including Kaka. This took us a little while even though we were right on the mark from the start. Great camouflage.

Wow that was an adventure getting there. Huge potholes filled with water and very over grown with trees and bushes scraping the sides of the car. No signage so weren't even sure we were heading in the right direction. Got there in the end but no sign and a broken plaque.

14-Aug-21
A nice walk beside the river with Genie23. Keep an eye out for motorbikes using the track. Cache found and quickly returned to hidey spot.

25-Jul-21
My first Adventure Lab cache. I loved it. Lots of fun going to the different places and learning a bit more about Taupō. I did all the parts on Tuesday after give ng blood but it was getting dark so left this final find for the weekend. TFTC I really enjoyed it.

The quickest find so far. I thought the area would have been busier but I must have come between jumps. Now my hands and face are itchy from the cache host

I remember the fun trips we used the have at Action World here. Such a shame it is no longer here. Cache holder was a surprise.

The area was so quiet today unlike Tuesday when I went past. A great place to hide a cache.

Lots of traffic for a weekend. Once pinpointed exact location quickly had cache. Loved the camo.

Not an area I had ever stopped at. Looked at all the plaques. Found cache, once again it was camoed to suit surroundings.

20-Jul-21
Watched a large group at Rock'n Ropes. Got an ice cream at Honey Hive and explored the area. TFTC

After a day of finding too many people around the caches I was attempting and not enough patience to wait around, I finally completed one. TFTC

14-Jul-21
Lots of traffic so did just as much pretending to chat on my phone as I did looking for cache. Wasn't where I was expecting it to be. A different viewing perspective helped. TFTC

Driving past Maketu pies on my way to the cache made me very hungry!
What a cute little find that kept surprising me. I think the neighbour across the road may have spotted me Sad as they appeared in the garden from nowhere. Lots of activity around GZ but didn't see any people there.

After heading to the end of the road and watching people fishing for a bit, I headed back to GZ. I sat down and admired the beautiful planting and the birds cruising by while the cache was at my feet. Signed and returned leaving the TB there as this is the last bigger cache I will be doing for a while and didn't know when I would get a chance to move it on.

I haven't been to this area before. It was so pretty and peaceful and I had it all to myself apart from a couple of heron. A clever little cache.

What a beautiful little spot. There is a sculpture trail around the area at present so a few people were milling around. It was easy to blend in taking photographs of the wood and stone sculptures around vicinity of GZ.

Really enjoyed learning more about the history of the street names. Cars were coming and going from the area so I had to pick a time to make a quick dash. Got and signed while sitting down pretending to tie shoe lace. Many windows around but hopefully not spotted.

Traffic was fairly busy today but I managed to park next to entry. Not sure who left the trolley fill of rubbish close to GZ Sad. Cache was obtained quickly and signed while sitting close by looking like I was texting. TFTC

Feet got a little wet as it was a chilly start to the day. Great view of the cooling tower and clever hide.

It was quite busy today with people coming and going. A security guard must have thought I was very studious taking notes as I read each board Wink It was great to learn more about the history of the guides. Answers sent to email and a response was quickly gained. TFTC

12-Jul-21
A side trip from Hamilton. I had to wait for muggles to move on before I could get my hands on this cache. The contents was a great surprise! I also did the short walk here reading the story of Kuwi the Kiwi as I went on the boards. I got back just in time to see the Mōkena Geyser.

After staying the night in Hamilton, I decided to take a side trip to Te Aroha (a place I have never been before) to do a couple of caches before heading home. Such a beautiful bush area with the stream. The information boards were very interesting. Thanks for bringing me here.

After coming to the area for the Geo Tour I decided to pick this one up too. Such a beautiful area, my first time here. After muddy feet (wrong direction) and almost giving up as GPS was all over the place, I followed a different thought and there it was. TFTC

11-Jul-21
Had coordinates in hand before I left home. It was a nice way to break up the trip to Auckland. The information about this wetlands project was very interesting.
The log was a little wet but was able to sign.

10-Jul-21
As I headed into Hamilton for the night I thought I'd pick up this cache. My daughter works with schools doing restoration projects so it was very interesting to see what other places are also doing. Tuna are not my favourite thing so I was a bit nervous about this one but the one at GZ seemed friendly enough.

09-Jul-21
A brisk day outside so a quick trip out after dropping my daughter at the bus stop to grab the clues for the final coordinates. Only saw one other person who was driving off as I arrived at the final destination. I think they may have done this cache just before me Smile

01-Oct-20
First pass today there were several people and cars around so continued on and came back at the end. Found two caches here! Signed both as wasn't sure which was the correct one (one older one new - I was first to sign it). Loved this wacky trail.

Found quickly but log so soggy you can't really read my entry. I took a photo for proof if you need it. A cool cache topper!

A clever wee container and log shape. Quickly found, signed and returned.
