Logs for Sonic 9

This event had perfect timing for me - Was able to duck out for a brief visit while daughter had netball training. I don't get the chance to get out as much as I would like so I'm always keen to meet some of the people behind the names I see regularly. Thank you to team Pinkpiggy for putting together this event, and thanks to all for being so welcoming.

Out to enjoy the sunshine and a chance to find a few more of this series. Great to have the variety of different caches in this series. Geohubby did the counting while I did the navigating. We walk like we drive, he says "go left", then says "no, the other left" Geohubby was one to spot this clever hide. TFTC
Out to enjoy the sunshine and a chance to find a few more of this series. A walk over from main area, stroll down to jetty to check out the ducks then a chance to rest at the seats. While the boys looked in one spot, I looked in another & doing full circle finally spotted. TFTC

Well we have been very lucky to have enjoyed a variety of different hides in this park. Geohubby & geoson were the lucky ones to spot this one (and I was a little jealous I didn't spot it first) The boys were particularly impressed with this hide (which is great for me as it means they will continue to join me on GC walks) so a favourite point from us. Thank you for the effort put into these. We will definitely be back to complete the rest. TFTC

Awesome cache to complete while at the Melbourne Mega Event. What better way to meet new people. Had hoped to get this one done Saturday but I ran out of time, so happy I got another chance on the Sunday! Thanks you for bringing us all together!

Found while attending Melbourne Event today. Arrived just at the right time & had slight advantage of spotting small group in a circle passing log around. TFTC
Finally the long awaited weekend has come to be part of the Melbourne Mega Event!
I attended after lunch today for a couple of hours and hope to be back tomorrow if time permits. Great to meet so many friendly people.
This is my first Mega Event, hopefully not my last! I live locally and the anticipation has been building with every new local cache that has been published recently.
It truly has been presented as a full weekend event with so much to see and do in the local vicinity.
Well done to all involved & Thank you to all the volunteers that put this fantastic event together, you have done a wonderful job.

Didn't have much time today to get around to all the caches but was able to manage a couple on way through park. With the boys at home sick it was a nice break to get out of the house & away from all their germs! Luckily found this one before it got dark. Saw a beautiful sunset over lake. Will definitely be back for more. TNLN. TFTC
Stood back looking at this one for a few moments, thinking before approaching to work out best starting point of search. Great spot, well done. Wish I had more time to get around park today but will be back again. Great park for walking, with or without a dog. TFTC

After the bitter cold days we've had lately, took the opportunity to go on walk with a couple muggle girlfriends through Wilson Botanic. After finding Rockface Rise earlier they were pretty keen to keep going & giggling like 3 schoolgirls we set out to find this one. I think they may become our newest converts! Favourite point from me. My first letterbox find - loved it! TFTC Left TB.

Last time I was at Wilson Botonic it poured with rain and we didn't make it this far in. Couldn't resist having a look while out walking with muggle girlfriends. They were pretty excited to have a boring walk become enjoyable.

Was at in-laws and topic of GC came up over Easter Sunday lunch (one of the kids compared today's egg hunt to GC). Knew this one wasn't too far away, and was a good idea to walk off our Easter feast! So with 3 geoteens and MIL, off we went. It was a great little find to introduce GC to some family. TFTC!

Woohoo at the Hoo Hoo today. Have attempted to get to this one before but the great weather had also brought lots of muggles to be out and about in this busy park not even getting a chance for a good look-see. So with a little bit of rain today I thought it might be quiet & the perfect day to snag this one. We trudged up that hill again, to find some tourists taking their time for the family pics. This gave me plenty of time to get my breath back though! After a little while the area cleared and the search began. We really felt like we were in right spot but could not easily spot anything. Then bam! Geohubby was the clever one to spot this little gem. Great view, great exercise and a fav point from me TFTC
Had avoided this one last time we were in the park as I had simply just chickened out. Geohubby on the other hand will give anything a go. So with the little bit of rain making ground cover a bit slippery, he carefully made his way down a bit to have a closer look. I tried to navigate from a safe standing point but was coming up with nothing. Just as he was about to come back, Geodaughter spots something different right near where he was standing (it was not out of place, but just different). Nice work from my family - with my supervisory skills of course! TFTC
By this stage of day it was pouring with rain and we had tried to get some sort of shelter in the trees, with not a lot of success. We decided to head home as we were absolutely soaked through (typical melbourne summer). On our way out of park we stopped here as the rain started to subside & unable to resist just one more. We worked out where we needed to be but were we on the right side? I'm not sure... Let's try this from the other angle. We soon found what we were looking for! We must have looked a weird sight for those strolling by - we were drenching wet yet trying to act like normal people just stopping to smell the roses. TFTC

Was a lovely day down by netball centre today. A few out and about around the cricket grounds and remote control car club running nearby looks pretty cool. It was nice and quiet around back of stadium and had a chance to snaffle this one while waiting for kids. TFTC

It's been a few months since my last find... A few hours after a find back in September my boyfriend asked me to marry him and the wedding organising began!! Geocaching has taken a back seat but not forgotten. With a trip to mini golf today to keep boredom at bay for kids over school holidays, one of them mentioned our lack of geocaching recently and I did a quick check to find one about 100 metres away... Resistance was useless (pun intended).. I had to find it! We made our way down the path and although started off facing wrong way, I took a really good look around and there it was! I might not get the chance to get out much this year.... Really enjoyed finding this one, fav point added - thank you.

Busy little shopping centre here, with choices of pizza or fish and chips bringing many out on a Friday night. Didn't look out of place as I wandered around while "waiting for pizza" from the nearby shops. Found in the spot described by previous finder without too much trouble. I was hoping the missing magnet might have been stuck to something but it was too dark to see. Have replaced back where I found it, hopefully it will stick around for some time to come.
21-Sep-14
Was able to sneak in a couple GC finds during our short weekend stay in the area. Thanks for bringing us here as we then found Hedgend where we got a game of frisbee golf in just before the rain came.
20-Sep-14
Our second and final find while in the area for the weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer. At first jump started looking in wrong spot, then noticed geotrail! A-ha moment TFTC!

Had not had a chance to get out & about in last couple weeks so I grabbed the opportunity while I could this morning and took the kids along. With their help we gathered all the info and then sat down at picnic table to figure out where we needed to be. We must have got one of the numbers wrong but was able to work it out. No one was around while we were there, but would imagine it would get very busy. Enjoyed sunshine at the park, thanks.

Big thanks to Monkey King for hosting the event today. An awesome turnout with fantastic weather. This was my first event and it was great to meet and enjoy the tales of others. I don't think I got around to everyone this time, but hopefully next event! Thanks to those that were able to pass on some tips and suggest some great hides to try.

Had been down at the Main Street shops a few weeks ago so gathered up the clues while I was there. Thought I would have a go at the sudoku before using the clues, but that effort didn't last long. With glorious weather we headed out for a wander down here today.

Popped over to find this one after the event this morning. Was able to find our way in following the others doing the same thing and some pointers from those that had just made their way out. Got to enjoy watching all the cute duckies too! I think they need a "duck crossing" sign on that lane-way opposite.

Only a few km's from home and we didn't even know this huge park existed. The kids are enjoying finding new parks to play at and I'm enjoying getting out and about. GZ spot on, not a lot of foot traffic to worry about as it was getting late in afternoon. Kids swapped an elephant for a dinosaur! TFTC
Found it! Yay completed my first multi. After finding the details we needed, we sat down and took in the surrounds and worked out final co-ords. Quite a few muggles around today. After a quick friendly hello to one of them, we wandered over to where we needed to be and sat down while we directed the geokids where to look... Definitely feels like someone might be watching from their windows. Having kids with us made it a bit easier. TFTC
Found it! Not too many muggles around with a few on oval just finishing up their training. No kids at playground. Took a stroll over to GZ to locate. Log was a bit damp but still intact and able to log ok. TFTC

Was confused, and with barking dogs and passing muggles nearly gave up. One last brain storm and yay we found it!
27-Jul-14
Was down this way during the week to pick up package from TNT but too much traffic to investigate. Came back & found it on this quiet Sunday. Great camo -Thanks!
