Logs for genghicat

21-Mar-24
Both Touchstone7 and I will attend. Looking forward to being there.

Touchstone7 and I plan on attending.

23-Feb-24
Nice easy multi cache enabling Touchstone7, geopuppy and me to get a nice morning walk. After a few very hot days the cool breeze was beautiful.

I was all about to give up on this one when Touchstone7 announces she's found the cache. Perhaps it was the Devil on her back that helped....

Quick little find on an afternoon's caching. Thanks for the cache.

Another multi found in the La Trobe Valley area. Great little cache.Found with Touchstone7

Nice (relatively) easy cache (if your name is Touchstone7). While I was totally looking in the wrong spot, she found it really. TFTC

This geocacher reported that the container is damaged.

First for the day. Cache was on the ground (and a little the worst for wear). Placed it at the base of the sign, but recommended that it be looked at by the CO.

18-Oct-22
Thankfully I had a tool to help in retrieving this one. Easy to find. Harder to sign.

Nice quick find on a bit of a geocaching day.

Nice hide. Accurate co-ordinates. Tftc

Nice quick find thanks to really good co-ordinates.

Had a quiet afternoon and havent cached for ages so thought I'd grab a cache in the local area.

Initially stumped, but thanks to a previous log, found very quickly.

TFTC.

For some reason, when I found this, I had the lyrics "I've done all the small things" to the tune of Paul Kelly's "Dumb Things" running through my head.

Thanks for the cache. It's been a long while since I've gone out by myself and found one.

Now, I just need to get Touchstone7 to come and sign the log too.

24-Jan-20
Nice find on a really nice day. I'm definitely employing the area. Found with Touchstone7 who definitely didn't say "Another cache Genghicat? We're on holidays. Can't we just enjoy ourselves?"

Most unusual container for a hide of this type. Hopefully it's not something that goes missing given how exposed it is.

But for the moment it's in great condition.

Thanks for the cache.

Nice easy find - the walk up back to the car was harder

Thanks for the cache.

Nice quick find and surprisingly larger than I thought it might be given the location.

Thanks for bringing us here.

Technically this was the second cache I've found in NZ, but after discovering I forgot my pen was unable to make a claim.

So, having fixed that problem, found myself at this cache. Nice little climb with a smiley at the end.

Thanks for the cache.

It was good to catch up with a lot of the local Canberra cachers and swap a few stories. Thank you very much to my secret santa for your gift. It was very much appreciated.

Hope to see you all next year.

23-Nov-19
Will be there, along with Touchstone7.

Nice quick find on the way home from the St. Arnaud event.

Found with Touchstone7

Attending the mega at St Arnaud allowed Touchstone7 and me a good opportunity to do a lot of the caches in the area. Having recently taken up metal work, and hearing about some of the really cool containers, I was very keen to go out looking at some of the caches we'd heard so much about.

With the number of cachers (and caches) around St. Arnaud, we were never far from someone and the line "there's a cacher" from either Touchstone7 or myself proved quite the catchphrase.

Great container. Very nice end to the series.

Thanks for the cache, FUF009

Nice event to finish off the mega. Some of the films were pretty amazing. Did a little bit of pathtag trading as well.

See you all next year.

Another SPECTACULAR container and I love the amount of work and detail that's gone into constructing it. Another cache where a second favourite point would not be inappropriate.

I seriously doubt this track would serve much of a "break" if a fire broke out (there are a LOT of overlapping trees), but it does at least provide good access for equipment to get down there if it does. And it provides good places for caches to hide.
