Logs for harraps

07-Sep-13
Could the owner of this cache PLEASE let me know what happened to my TB?
Is it stolen? Is it still in the cache?

So I hope they will finally drop it properly and use the correct date.

Sorry for putting my 2 cents (eh...) in this, too - the "coin from another company" mineemo left is one of my pathtags, the Europe one http://www.pathtags.com/community/publicpathtagprofile.php?id=18757 .
The finder may keep it, it is not a classic trackable.
Logging is not necessary, no worries here, but one can leave a comment with the number on the back and some coordinates here: http://www.pathtags.com/community/log.php . Not many do, because it requires setting up a separate account.
Thought to better leave a note, not everybody is familiar with the tag-stuff.

The trackable referred to below is the "counterpart" of a cling decal for the car of teamrowdy6...
Maybe a different TB was dropped (jumping mouse when choosing the trackable's options in the inventory when logging)?
In case it is in fact the car bug, better contact the owner.

(Christmas and New Year's) Greetings from the Dutch cousin WinkCool
(who is going to try to find this one in 2012)

10-Dec-10
The last mail just came in.
On October 23 the coin was seen by the BanffSpringsKidsClub.
On November 6 it wasn't found any more by simha.
This means that somebody took it out who didn't log his visit.
Seen the the amount of trackables regularly vanishing from this cache (if one can believe the information send to me), without logged visits, it might be that some local fan takes them out on regular basis to enrich his private collection.

I doubt that a person like this reads cache descriptions. But just in case: The first three won/can win an unactivated Dutch "Vincent van Gogh" coin (Gold/Silver/Bronze) together with the lanyard.
Maybe this "gets some memory jogged".

Something else this person should realize: Not the holder of the coin is "Owner" of the one sqm of moon surface, but the person having bought the coin. Thus: Keeping it is useless in this matter.

By this marking the coin as "Missing".

EDIT:
Took some time to find the story back... maybe one like those should be installed in the Banff cache...

The moon coin wasn't found in the cache any more on November 13 and later. On November 24 no coin was seen in the cache.

That means, either an unknown or one of these cachers took and kept it:
- November 12 by Jeremy Lukan (13 found)
- November 11 by dijon027 (18 found)
- November 7 by furryfinders (82 found) (just told me that they can't remember having seen "a" moon coin)
- November 7 by jodahall (14 found)
- November 6 by simha (357 found)
- October 23 by BanffSpringsKidsClub (1 found) (they reported not having taken anything, but with a group one never knows)

All cachers were contacted by mail, it would be good if they could let me know if at least they SAW the coin. With the majority of them being new to the game, I'm afraid there will never be a TTF for that coin http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=21f819fc-7fd5-4d87-a332-6a61a1a2f208

I do not understand why it is so difficult to use the link provided on the tag as well the coin. Which part of the message "Log me at www.geocaching.com" is difficult to understand? With a tiny bit of effort one can do the right thing.

Also it seems to get more and more in style, NOT to include in the log the "Outs" and "Ins" as well NOT to write a note on the respective coins' pages.
In addition it is quite interesting to note, how quickly newcomers to the game find out how to proudly log a found. Logging a TB is obviously not always something worth to try to find out. My theory is that including the number of moved ones in the bracket behind the cachers' names will significantly decrease the number of trackables gone missing.

Hi,

could any of the next loggers let me know if he saw my coin "La course à travers le Système Solaire" in the cache?
Since 16 October no log was made, neither "discovered" nor "retrieved" nor a "missing"-note.

Thanks in advance,

harraps

Seen the logs below:

[Found it] October 29 by mineemo (2 found)

Very Happy My first geocache! Thanks so much, it was great fun, helped to learn about my GPS too. I can see I will easily get hooked on this. I took a Dutch clog and placed in an NZ keyring. Cheers.

[Found it] November 1 by fanfan-77 (33 found)

Never been to this part of the park before, great discreet spot away from muggles.Came out looking to take 2 bugs out, but when I opened the box, there were only 2 there, plus a coin!
-----------------------------------------

This obviously means that
a) coin and attachments have been disassembled (Reef Check coin with a compass and a Dutch clog attached)
b) the coin is lost after having been abducted from AUS immediately after having been placed there, starting it.s journey, without having had the chance to play the game at all (which was, as explained on the attached mission tag: Travel solely Australia til 2012, showing me great places)

Sad greetings from a distance of 16,700 km (The Netherlands).

(Note logged on 2.11.10, changed to "Found" 4.11, thank you, danieloliveira!)

Like visiting Earthcaches a lot.
Unfortunately almost all require to include a picture of me in order to validate the log.
The requirements for a valid picture are often difficult to fulfill while caching alone and I also have no desire to place pictures of myself on the net.
Therefore just a note, for my private "statistics".

Thanks for showing.

One of the last pictures of the coin "Reef Check". It traveled 16,700 kms to be placed in its first cache, to travel Australia and show me great places, and was abducted a few days later from the same cache. The cacher was "in too much a hurry to do some caches in Sydney to read the mission tag before leaving the country".

It would have been good to have the questions on top of the very interesting, but also very long listing, then they would have showed up on my GPSMap78s. While traveling I seldom have a printer with me and prefer paperless caching, so I had to return to the hotel when realizing the questions were omitting, wrote them down and returned to the place.

Well, I was wrong. The actual cache location is a beautiful spot.
Do not worry about any muggles - as long as you are there on a Sunday morning at 7am.

In: two coins, both "water" themed. One is a Suncatcher Sailing coin from a fellow cacher in the Netherlands, the other one my Reef Check coin. Both want to travel Australia till 2012.
Hopefully they are not immediately dragged out of the country again by somebody helpful Cool.
Also in: a handful of Dutch tile magnets

Thanks for adding this one to the game!

My initial choice is Umberto Eco, not because the novel "The name of the Rose", but for his enchanting collection of essays "How to travel with a salmon and other advices" (Sugli specchi e altri saggi).

The backup choice, in case Umberto was caught in the ongoing construction works, was Mark Twain. One of the very first "real", grown-up books given to me was a double edition "Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn / Huckleberry Finn", with which I spend adventurous and pleasant hours. Also in this book some good advices are given: How to paint a fence and gain a fortune, for instance.

In the pictures you will see the GPSr, a little bear my niece gave to me, my coin TB Gourmand / Gourmet TB3B9GQ http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=d7b360b6-50b2-4da8-bd0c-79359917999f, which is dropped off in the meantime and some parts of me. Solo-caching in the early morning is not easy.

Found it this morning at about 7:00 with a little help from Philma. Thank you!

Got almost blown off my feet by the wind!

Took one microcoin "Platypus"
Left a wooden coin from the Netherlands, a Winter/Summer coin and two TB (Schallermann & magic car).

Read the clue, needed to do some extra research ... but maybe those having grown up with this know there is a meaning behind the obvious?
Climbed three times up and down ...
Too well hidden for me. Wall is interesting, though, and the early morning hike and exercise was also something nice.

Thanks for showing the place!

Lovely little place Smile

Left two coins (I love geocaching & eastwards) and a handful of Dutch tile magnets. Plus a card I found this morning on the steps near to the Observatory. Unfortunately left the loyalty cards at home (= Netherlands).
Took nothing.

Found it during a little detour while doing the Obervatory multi at around 8 am.

It is amazing - every type of traffic one can imagine has its own road. Living in the Netherlands, I was especially impressed with the dedicated bicycle-lane (and all the "bicycle road" symbols on the tarmac).

Mistook yesterday at first a comfortable seat for watching the harbour for the famous chair when strolling along.
And amazing enough, the photographers are there AGAIN, even at this early hour. Who on earth do they expect?
Don't they have a home? Please give a poor jet-lagged simple-minded low-lands geocacher a chance...

Thanks for the cache at this lovely place, with the air filled with the scents of the lemon (?) bushes.

Hmmm... found both WPs while doing a pleasant walk, admiring all the sports activities going on in the park at this early hour.
There is even a very well equipped open-air Fitness Centre. Very cool.
It was a highly enjoyable early morning walk.

With the final, no luck, unfortunately. GPS wanted me to be on the middle of the road, well over the edge.
Examined carefully every nook and cranny on both sides of the road. With my eyes only - after having read and being told about some of the animal wildlife, it might be better not to put the fingers everywhere.

Had a look at the earlier logs and pictures, but am still clueless.

Thanks anyway for getting me to these locations! It was well worth the trip and time.

Was tempted to give it a quick try yesterday late, but didn't.
Early morning catch of the day at 7am = 10pm the previous day for the owners of the club-members Cool

Weather forecast predicts rain. Can't see any (yet).

TFTC!

No problem at 9 o'clock.
Good place to take pictures and enjoy the view. Nice place, actually.
This is what geocaching is for, getting to know the cool places the common crowd has no clue of [^]

Thank you very much for showing!

Out: TB3EN9B
In: 3 little "Delft Blue Tiles" magnets

No trace of the WP.

To be honest, in this area are more litter bins at lower frequented places which offer stunning and unique views.
This location is a touristy hotspot, which easily can be accessed by the Sydney Explorer.

I walked till there from the Harbour Bridge and back, which I think can be recommended. The Botanical Gardens are beautiful. All of it, including this area which is not enclosed by the fence, is spotless clean and all benches are in a next to pristine condition.
Took pictures of the trees, so spend about an hour there. The three on-location photographers right next to the bin and in plain sight do not have much clients, so are bored and happy for every distraction. Luckily they lost interest in me after half an hour, which allowed me two chances for a closer look.
Could not find anything resembling a waypoint-indicator. What I am searching for - a metal plate, some numbers scribbled on the surface using a permanent marker, a nano, ...?

I regret being too stupid to find the waypoint - eight TBs and coins from Europe need a new home.

07-Jun-10
Showed this to my cousin, living in the region - after having had introduced her to geocaching (in Europe).
Knowing that roadworks are in progress right know at the very location, she advised to place a note for the owner for checking on the condition of the cache.
