I found this zoo by accident. i am staying in jackson,mississippi, while my home is being repaired because of hurricane katrina. i was just riding down the road and ran smack into it. i didn't even know jackson had a zoo. nice little zoo hardly anyone one here on a december afternoon. 

This is the french opera house in new Orleans. it opened on may 22,1796. it is now a hotel.

I have been wanting to log this one for a long time. Thanks to hurricane katrina I finally got up this way. this is the boyhood home of jefferson davis president of the confedercy. Also thanks to hurricane katrina it was closed but I did get the proof by my pictures. 

I found this on a trip down the river from new orleans,la. the bridges in the this area are big but most of the them not suspension bridges. this one is located in luling,la. 

When i heard about the last log as about lions reminded me about my college days and our mascot was a lion.We tried to named it cut a long and put dots on it. The administration would not go for it. This lighthouse was built in the 1830's by irish and german immigrants as a link from the lake to the city.In dec.30,1985 It was placed on the national register by the national park service. the light is 33feet above sea level. the exterior was restored in 1976.
