Logs for teamlockey

06-Feb-11
Last of four for the day but didn't bring a pen so couldn't sign the log. After the find, geokids enjoyed feeding a couple of swans and ducks, and watching a couple of very enthusiastic labradors chasing a ball in the lake. Great spot, TFTC.

First Canberra cache for 2011. Riding up the street towards the site, older geokid stated 'that would be a great hiding spot for a cache'. Sure enough, sent both kids in and found it in a few seconds.

It would have been an interesting landing in the balloon!

TFTC

Second find today, and a fun one for the geokids. Youngest very excited to be given responsibility to dive in to retrieve cache, and oldest very happy that he can now write our log entries. Lovely part of Canberra too. TFTC.

Third find for the day on a morning hunt around Weston Park - must have crossed paths with Domsky along the way. Cache definitely needs maintenance, with the storms over the last few days not helping much. Had a great morning exploring Weston Park. TFTC.

31-Dec-10
Combined a run through Bomaderry Creek with a cache hunt. Found this one with ease, but a combination of sweat, sunscreen and mud made opening the cache impossible, so no entry in the log. No beats from the gym today, but brought back memories from when I used to instruct circuit classes there. TFTC Rock Hopper.

Combined a run through some favourite old tracks through Bomaderry Creek with a cache hunt. Didn't manage to find this one, but discovered a weir that I didn't know existed, and learnt a little more about the history of the Shoalhaven. I've been running these trails for almost a decade and had never ventured into this part of the park before. Thanks Pelusa for taking me to a new spot even though I didn't find the cache.

30-Dec-10
Got a new GPS for Christmas and took the kids out to give it a test drive. This was the first site of six for the day, but no luck unfortunately. Lots of muggles made life challenging and we're pretty sure we know where we should have been looking now having read the previous logs. Maybe head back in the next few days. Youngest geokid got to meet a peacock for the first time though, so all was not lost.

Not quite the mighty Seahawk, but a damn fine piece of engineering from days gone by... Despite a 20 min search aided by two very enthusiatsic geokids, failed to find this one today. We'll be back for another search soon! Hope the kalmlittleexplorers are enjoying exploring places up north!

Second of six caches today for the team, sporting a new GPS from Santa. Geokids very excited with find having had no success at previous location (Animal Snaps), but couldn't write in log as cache remains waterlogged as per previous log entries - the tide has certainly been up high. TFTC and for giving the geokids the enthusiasm for the remainder of the afternoon's searching.

Fourth of six for the day, but alas no find. Should have read the hint before heading out. We'll be back.

Got a new GPS from Santa so took the geokids out for their first proper hunt today. This was the 6th and last site visited, with only one other find during the afternoon (Grotto #4), so geokids and geodad were happy to finish on a high with an easy find. TFTC and for an opportunity to see the bridge from a different perspective.

Fifth site for the day, and the 4th with no find to report. Are you sure some other Pirates haven't stolen or dropped it? We'll be back for another search soon.

24-Jan-10
Took Geo-kid for a ride to find his second ever cache. Put him in the general area and gave him a couple of clues and he managed to find it in about 3 mins. Great way to start a Sun morning. TNLN, TFTC.

01-Dec-09
Tried to find this one on my early morning ride this morning but was too rushed and didn't look around for long. Went back this afternoon during my twilight run and with a bit more searching finally found it. First time I've had to look for a micro. Forgot about the 'bring your own pencil' tip so didn't sign log. Will visit with Geokids when they move over to Canberra shortly. TNLN. TFTC.

Second find during tonight's twilight run, having run around the bike track from A Brush With a View. Myrmecophobia isn't one of my afflictions but my slight case of arachnophobia was tested when retrieving the cache. At this time of night people suffering macropodaphobia (as defined by wiki answers...) might struggle too! TNLN. TFTC.

26-Nov-09
First of two this afternoon. Great to see a large cache, I'll be back with something to swap one day. TNLN this time.

Loved the clue. I consider myself a bit of a plane spotter but it challenged me for about an hour. Visited on way back from 'Another Shade of Red' and came up the eastern side of the hill. Usually run down that way and discovered it's a lot harder going up! TNLN. TFTC.

25-Nov-09
First of three found during my early morning run around Red Hill. Only other creatures out were some Kangaroos and Magpies.

Third and final for this morning's run around Red Hill. Bush-bashed down from The Hidden Valley. Love the camo. TFTC.

Second of three found this morning during my early morning run around Red Hill. Bush-bashed up the hill from Calthorpes House, scared a couple of kangaroos as much as they scared me. Thanks for the info, very interesting.

24-Nov-09
Second of two caches that I visited on my early morning run. First time I've used the GPS - glad I did because Google Maps had me about 30m away! Lovely view at 6am with only the kangaroos for company. TFTC.

First of two caches that I visited on my early morning run. First time I've used the GPS - glad I did because Google Maps had me about 70m away! Lovely view at 6am with only the kangaroos for company. TFTC.

10-Nov-09
Only my second find and the first one I needed to solve before searching. Found it on my way to work on the bike this morning, nice and quiet at 0630 in the morning. Thanks for the quiz and for wetting my appetite even more for this new new found activity!

08-Nov-09
My first ever Geocache, and I didn't even need a GPS. I reckon this is going to get me hooked. Thanks to 'The Pirates of PATE' for introducing me to Geocaching.
