Sundials
An eighteenth century sundail that stands in the churchyard of the parish church of St Mary's, Nercwys. The octagonal copper dial is mounted on a circular plinth. It is incised “Lewis Thomas (of Chester) fecit 1768â€.

The Trappist Abbeys
The photograph is of Cockersands Abbey founded in 1190 called St. Mary’s of the Marsh. In 1539 the abbey was closed by Henry VIII and its land sold as part of this dissolution of the monasteries.
