S2 in Virginia replaced - cache on!! 

Headed down to Florida from Northern Virginia for the week. Had a great time with the family - 3 grandkids kept us going - took the Auto Train down and back. Visited Disney Magic Kingdom, Tampa Glazer Children's Museum, Kennedy Space Center, and Showcase of Citrus - even went swimming twice - beautiful 85 degrees weather all week.

First I took the family pics on the other side of the castle - my daughter made matching shirts for all of us - then spent the day at the park - finished off at the Carousel - was going to walk through the castle but they closed it off for the fireworks a couple hours early.

It just may be possible - my wife and I would really like to get down there for this one. 

Not quite a DNF - more like a Did Not Attempt - got to the dock and decided not to chance the crossing alone. Unfortunately I did not make the proper plans and missed out on Capt Steve's charter too.

Wow - I love these long distance caches - great to team up with a couple of other cachers - working across 3 continents. Cached recently with the Virginia CO of this cache and he mentioned that this was to be published soon. My part was Stage 2 - and it was an adventure - picked a nice clear beautiful day in DC - but could not locate the stage on the first try - was a bit rushed since a Secret Service police officer pulled up right next to my car as I was looking, so decided to leave and try for another nearby cache - ended up with another DNF on that one and then another - not my day - so came back for another try - no police this time but no cache - tried a PAF to the CO but he was in the Dominican Republic - so no answer on the phone - so headed out - then got a few blocks away when the CO sent me an email - with his hint, I decided to try yet again - this time not one but two Secret Service police cars zoom by as I start my search again - one stopping to park next to my car again. Just glad the CO helped me out and we were able to get the coords and move on to get the smiley.

Had to come downtown today for a potential job, and my wife had driven away to get some breakfast- so I walked the few blocks to find her - and found this cache along the way. Had tried to stop a few times before but was in a car and it was too busy at the time. Glad to make the stop today. Email answer on its way.

TFTVC 

Gathered a Cache Mob to go visit the Monuments and Memorials in DC - and about 20 Virtual caches and Earthcaches - this was the 16th cache of the morning - the first was the only traditional cache. Started out with a about a dozen for the early morning flash mob and then 4 of us continued on for the full tour -very hot day - but lots of great sights. I had found this before - last winter - quite a contrast in the weather - led the group here as we went all the way around the tidal basin.

TFTEC 

On a quick caching run to Pentagon City and surrounding area to find a dozen caches after work today to set up #1400 tomorrow with the Cache Mob at Magic Coalition Victory. Quick find - nice location.

Wanted to do something special for this milestone - and it was nice to get out to the park and walk around for a bit before the summer heat gets into full swing.
