Description
Find a Flag of a country from around the world
Find a Flag of a country from around the world and identify it and I will mark it off on the map below. Only one find per country so if someone has found that country already then you can't log it so this will get harder the more finds are logged. Be creative in where you find the flags they can be flying high, In windows ,painted on something you name it but no home made flags or pictures on a computer screen I want to see them in the wild.
Requirements
1 - Find a flag of a country and identify what country it is from and it that country hasn't already been found then follow the next steps
2 - Take a photo with you and or your GPS
3 - Log the coordinates of the flag
Good Luck

I was in Korea to explore. My adventures took me inside North Korea albeit 1m haha, yes I've stood in North Korea via a tour inside the DMZ. I indulged in the amazing Korean cuisine and their craft beer culture. I hiked South Korea's highest mountain, Hallasan, down on Jeju Island. I had many great experiences in this part of world. Did you know there is part of the Berlin Wall in Seoul, used as a monument. The monument is intended to express the hope that one day South and North Korea can be reunited. So many cool things inside Korea but that will do for this post.
Thanks for triggering interesting memories and thanks for the cache
See my previous note. all is not lost. When I was teaching at Glen Dhu Primary School there were a number of students from various countries around the world. When they arrived a special school assembly was held and the students were presented with a flag from their country. Every day as well as the Australian Flag, the Aboriginal Flag and the School Flag a flag from another country was flown. On this occasion the two standing students were being presented with the Iraq flag but as this has already been claimed I claim the flag of El Salvador. In the photo is a student, the Mayor of Launceston and the El Salvador Flag.

Oops I now notice that Bosnia has been claimed before so I change this to a note.
Thanks Dazzatron
Spotted this flag flying on Panamanian registered coal carrier. Corona Youthful on it's way up the mouth of the Hunter River to bag a hold of coal. It was supported by three tug boats, one on the port side and two on starboard presumably due to the off shore wind coming across the port bow.
Anyways, we saw the flag flying and remembered this locationless. Thanks Dazzatron!
Cheers

Thanks for this oe Dazzatron
Its the Green, yellow and red one in the back corner
Photo taken at home in Launceston Tasmania.
Spotted this flag among many others in the parade of flags along the shores of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. There were so many to choose from, so I thought that Kosovo deserved some individual attention!
Thanks for the locationless cache Dazzatron!
Cheers

Flag of Tibet (and Tibetan Prayer Flags)
Leura Mall
Leura, NSW
The Dalai Lama stayed in Leura (Fairmont Resort) for five days, while giving a retreat. He also gave a public talk in Katoomba, which I attended with Mrs. pjmpjm.
So our local 'flag person' put out these flags on Leura Mall!
Tanzanian flag hanging rather limp outside the Marine Sciences building in Stone Town, Zanzibar.
Thanks Dazzatron
Here's the Peruvian flag flying high over parliament in Lima.
Thanks Dazzatron
I hope we're not doubling up here but I couldn't see the Swiss flag in previous logs.
Here we are at Jungfraujoch, Swizterland.
Thanks Dazzatrom
Not what you expect to find flying over in Leura Mall, in the Blue Mountains of NSW!
Texas was of course briefly an independent country before it became part of the United States, and then seceded for several years as part of the Confederate States of America.
Flying in Leura Mall, this place is a treasure trove of flags as they are changed on a regular basis.
Very blurry GPS on the side of the photo!

As Turkey hasn't been 'found' before, and as I have visited there twice, I chose the Turkish Flag.

This flag puzzled me at first. I hadn't realised that in 1995 the Republic of Macedonia had adopted a new flag to replace the orginal 'Verina Sun' flag. This came after a log dispute with neighbouring Greece about the ancient symbol. (I guess both countries considered themselves to be the 'true' Macedonia. But you can read about all this at Wikipedia.)
So -- surprise, surprise -- this unusual flag turned up flying on one of the many flagpoles in Leura, right next to the flag of Norfolk Island! A good find . . .
Thanks Acko

Could resist logging this one, while on a trip to the US. Photo taken from my rental car as I waited at a traffic light!

Another great new flag!

I didn't recognise this flag at first! But Myanmar (Burma) changed its flag in 2010 and this is the old one -- looking (at least, at a distance) deceptively like the flag of the Republic of China . . .

I was very pleased to see this particular flag flying on Leura Mall, after one of the regular 'flag changes' by the owner of Megalong Books.
We have a lot of Chinese visitors here in the Blue Mountains, but I would have thought the majority would be from either the Peoples' Republic or Hong Kong.
An unexpected flag in the Blue Mountains.
Already logged with a pin and GC, but thought a real-life flying flag would be nice . . .
Will post this one as a 'note' only . . .
Any I have one that has an Italian Air Force Aces pre 1943 (when they were the baddies.
But their planes were stunningly beautiful (to a RAAFie).
Anyways the Italian flag. This is a version of the Italian WWII flag.
Thanks Acko
Thanks for this great idea for a cache.

You don't often see the Hawaiian flag flying around here (in the Blue Mountains of NSW), so I hope I'm not stretching this Locationless category too much by including it. But I think the same flag was used when Hawaii was an independent kingdom.
I immediately noticed this pennant, because it's well known that the flag of Hawaii is the only US state flag that features the Union Jack, a holdover from when Hawaii was a British Protectorate.
We stayed on the north west coast and the airport is on the south east side. Its such a friendly island and their is so much you can do, never a moments peace.
thanks Acko
Thanks Acko
This completes the Scandinavian countries for this GCA locationless cache . . .
I'm a real 'vexology' buff so couldn't resist this one, when it appeared on Leura Mall, in Leura, NSW -- in the Blue Mountains.
Am now on the lookout for more obscure flags . . .
The flag is flying at "the block" - the top of the infamous Eveleigh St in Redfern.
Another flag I couldn't resist -- the former East Germany!
I found this flag in the Leuralla Toy & Railway Museum at Leura, NSW.
I used to listen to the English language shortwave radio broadcasts of Radio Berlin International in the 1970s and 1980s.
I usually don't log this kind of locationless cache more than once, but how often do you see this unique flag?
It was flying today at the top of Leura Mall, in Leura, NSW (Blue Mountains).
Took me a while to get a good shot.
My hand and fingerprints and wedding ring stand in for a GPSr to prove it was really me who took the picture!
Managed to snap it at the embassy in Canberra. Once of the adventures of living in Canberra I guess.

This picturesque Blue Mountains town (my adopted hometown) has a traditional of flying a number of national flags along the main part of Leura Mall where all the shops and restaurants and cafes are located.
I completely forgot about this locationless cache -- odd because I'm a great lover of flags!
Today I went out and check which flags were up. I think the 'Megalong' bookshop guy is in charge of the flags. All were taken -- even the flag from Cameroon -- apart from two. One was wrapped around the pole and not catching any breeze, so I went into the bookshop to ask. Unfortunately, the flag guy wasn't working that day.
But the other flag was easy -- it was Danish. My wife's mother is Danish so I got out my iPhone camera and waited for a breeze. Didn't take long!
I was surprised that this one was untaken -- Sweden and Finland were snapped up.
And the red-and-white colours were especially appropriate because today is Valentine's Day . . .
What a great idea for a locationless cache!
The restaurant is called Abesha and serves authentic Ethiopian food.
It is the flag of Ethiopia used up until 1996 when the flag changed slightly however this is still quite commonly used.
Footscray has a diverse population of Africans whom have fled many years of war and oppression.
We returned a few hours later with GPSr and camera, but had to wait until the wind would pick up enough to unfurl the flag. We grabbed a few shots, but felt we were loitering, so hopefully the attached pic is good enough.
Thanks Dazzatron.
Saw this after a quck cache raid this morning
While heading back to harbour to wait for the non-caching family component spotted this fluttering in the breeze..
Unfortunately couldn't get myself & GPS in the picture as I was by myself at this stage
Nothing like a bit of caching while on holidays...
A great place for browsing for cache contents and food.
Unfortunately someone broke in and burnt the building down on the weekend causing at least $20 million worth of damage. So the flags are gone. But at least the radio link we put up survived (though may be somewhat cooked - it's still a crime scene so we can't get in and retrieve it).
Was on my way to do TP52515 and found this banner fluttering in the wind and thought how appropriate. TFTC and cheers OldSaint.
These flags pictured are all located in the GBR mess hall.
All the flags shown here are located in the GBR mess hall.

Tuvalu are supplying a police contigent to the RAMSI effort in the Solomon Islands. All the flags pictured here are located in the GBR mess hall.
I find it odd that some people are logging more than one find against locationless caches - particularly when there are only 195 different countries in the world, it doesn't give that many folk a chance to get this cache if some log multiple times. Just a thought to share the love
Was surprised and lucky it hasn't been logged before..
Thanks Dazzatron for the cache...
Taken at this years ANZAC Parade in George St, Sydney.
Last time I visited was to get a visa for my trip.
(Blue with yellow cross), next to the confederate flag.
I really wanted to log the EUREKA flag, but I guess it does not count as it is not an official flag of Oz.
This is the flag of Scotlaand.....FREEEEDOOOMMM!( it's the blue with the white diagonal cross)
There are still a few others that have not been logged.
We didn't expect to find that no one had logged this cache yet with all the flags on the stage. There are many flags so to be fair to others we decided to log only one.
Our GPS is sitting on the stage, a bit difficult to see though.
Soooo, I'll pick the Croatian flag on the left of stage.
It is outside an area which I think is going to have a huge Greek church built on it.
There have story about Iraq see below.
1991–2004 (ratio: 2:3)On 13 January 1991, the flag was changed again by Flag Law No. 6 of 1991. Saddam Hussein decreed to place the Takbir (the words Allaahu Akbar (God is Great)) between the stars. The words on the flag were in Saddam's own handwriting, and many interpreted the change as an attempt to garner wartime support from previously outlawed religious Iraqi leaders, to stop the disrespect of the Iraqi flag in Kuwait, and to garner support from the Islamic world in the period immediately preceding[citation needed] the first Gulf War, as he attempted to distance his government from its previous secularism which had kept Islamic fighters from being willing to fight for his regime.
Thanks Dazz - good idea about flag.
We went to Fiji last year on a family holiday and geo-son brought back this flag! Geo-son has a tb on it's way to Fiji and he would like to go back again for his birthday!
Sorry the photo isn't better.
I saw this flag this morning wrapped around the pole and couldn't make it out so I went back this afternoon to check it out.
The owners had unravelled it so I was able to photograph it.
The location is at the Greenwich Inn Motel at St Leonards and is at the same place as the French flag I logged earlier.
Saw this while driving home today.
