Over from the UK visiting friends Cool
Took one of our favourite walks along the coastal path from Coogee, but unfortunately it started to rain Surprised
Made for some difficulty in getting sand size data, but at least there was hardly anyone on the beach Red Face
A few surfers out on the water so watched them for a while and then called in at the cafe for a warming hot chocolate Wink

Over from the UK visiting my Best Man of nearly 40 years ago Red Face
Had to take the obligatory stroll along to the Opera House & tempted by Barry Humphries, then lured by Rudyard Kipling (who lived just a short drive away from my family home), but decided to select an author that I had not heard of and randomly chose MAY GIBBS 1877-1969 Cool
On researching her (actually Cecilia May Gibbs MBE) it turns out she was born in Kent (England) where I live - serendipity Smile
Her books chronicle the adventures of the eponymous Snugglepot and Cuddlepie.
The first book of the series, Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie: their adventures wonderful was published in 1918. Cool

Over from the UK on holiday Cool

Coach pick-up was from our Yulara resort in the dark & early (4am) and then off for a wholesome breakfast at Kings Creek Station, before arriving at Kings Canyon a few minutes before the 09.00 deadline for commencement Wink
Armed with 2 litres of water & the Aussie hat, we approached the staircase with some trepidation for the upcoming 6 km rim walk Red Face
After puffing & panting to the top, we encountered a coach driver on the emergency radio phone, reporting that a young female student had injured her knee & would require evacuation.
Later on we passed her being carried back on the emergency stretcher Surprised
The conditions were blustery with several outbreaks of light rain (didn't drink much more than half our supplies of water), but we really enjoyed the rim walk, especially the fantastic geological structures and views Smile
The detour down the gorge to the pool was well worth it - resisted the temptation to jump in Surprised
