Very cool little spot, love the look of the bar as well! There was a hospi worker on break looking right at the cache, so didn’t think I’d be able to get it. Luckily a friend came along so they got up and started chatting around the corner, giving me a chance to grab the cache. Was very unsure about the lid, great placement and engineering! Thanks for the awesome cache!

I worked out where the picture was taken shortly after this cache was published. I was in the area a few weeks ago, so decided to get my numbers while I was walking the strip. Today I actually got around to the projection, and dropped by GZ on the way to the pool. A good spot for it, hidden well. There was a curious magpie that landed only a metre away from me, as if deciding whether to swoop me or not, it’s getting to that point of the year I made it safely away, and walked away with the cache and the souvenir for worldwide geocaching day. Thanks for the great puzzle, location and cache!

I decided to go out for a walk on Black Mountain to make the most of a beautiful, not completely cold, winters day. I did the adventure lab version of this multi rather than the multi stage. Since Telstra tower is closed the answer was a little hard to find, but the internet knows all. Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful spot!

Thanks for the great event DARKSIDEDAN! I loved your dedication to the day, braving the costume in the cold was admirable. I don’t make it to many events, but it’s always nice to meet up with the local caches and out some faces to caching names. May the fourth was day 365 of my 366 grid, so it was exciting to tick it off with a day specific event! Thanks for the event and pizza!

No luck here today. I checked all the potential places, that fit the hint and all the way along. May have fallen off, or not been replaced properly. Thanks anyway

Choo choo, I’ve finally found you! Finding this cache has taken many adventures over many months. Stage one was found easily. Stage two eluded me at first, but was found on the second occasion. I ran out of time that day, so came for GZ on a third and then fourth occasion. Could not find it for the life of me. Then, I started working within a few hundred metres, and the stakes got higher. I couldn’t let my closest work cache elude me! Finally, I looked in a slightly further spot, and there the cache was. A great feeling of gratitude that day, and luckily no one to see it or catch me finding or returning the cache. Thanks Tankengine!

My first cache for the day, while waiting for my partner as he was visiting his Dad in hospital. He’s been in there a while, but at least he didn’t need the above transport to get here, just a regular ambulance. A fantastic cache, loved the way of securing the hide! Not what you would expect for the substrate. Thanks pprass!

I was in the area today because my partners father is currently in the Alfred. I drove us in, and went for a walk in Fawkner Garden and up to the Botanic Gardens while my partner was visiting his dad. Managed to find four caches, not a bad haul. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches.

Number two of four caches found today. There were lots of cute dogs walking past, which was great but made searching between the inquisitive looks of owners hard. Especially when there were lots of ants on the logical, “act natural” sitting place! A nice fit for the hide, worked out well. Thanks skakids!

Lots of spider webs from one direction! I spotted the cache from above, but quickly realised I would have to retrieve from elsewhere. One does not simply block the tan by lying over it! I went in one way and trudged through the grass. Only one muggle above actually noticed me down there. A quick find a replace, and I made my way out. Really should have gone the other way, the spider webs had been knocked down in that direction. Made it out with a few extra confused looks, mostly due to fighting webs. Thanks for the cache skakids!

I found the various adventure labs for this cache during COVID lockdown last year, when I decided that to didn’t want to do any physicals. I decided to come out this way for 2 geocaches and a hike for 2/2/22. There was some beautiful bush and flowers around, I loved the white daisies. I probably shouldn’t have worn shorts for this one, despite being close to a path there was some decent undergrowth. A great container, reminded me that I really have to put my own copy from that Mega out. Thanks for the cache Toy Hunters

My first geocache for the day. I saw the cache pretty quickly, and had the old feeling of "I can get this down but can I replace it"? With a little help from a conveniently placed log, the answer was just. I had it hand fairly easily, and found a well kept cache. Getting it back wasn't quite as hard as I thought, but I was well and truly on my tippy toes and stretched to the max. Thanks Dan!

After a very wet day yesterday, I decided that I wanted to get out for a hike today. I also realised that I hadn't found a geocache on January 30, so this will be day 358 out of 366! I've been meaning to come out to Campbell Park Woodland for a while, for both the geocaches and the nature, having been told about the amazing floristic values and bird life. I wasn't disappointed, the nature was incredible. An amazing amount of wildflower around, beautiful trees, and the constant bird songs. Thanks DARKSIDEDAN, binliner and mountainsbeyond for the excellent caches!

Today was well and truly a day of spiders. It felt like every way I turned there was a jewel spider on it's web. With the thick undergrowth and the spiders webs all over the place, it took a while to get off track and to the cache. At least there was a geotrail through the long grass for this cache. Nicely hidden, and in good condition. Thanks Dan!

A nice view from a hidden spot. I was a bit worried about climbing the fence on approach, but it was actually very easy, even with my short legs. A quick find, in great condition. Thanks for the cache Dan!

The last geocache for the day. I enjoyed walking along the grassland fence, might have to go for a walk one day to check it out. I was surprised to see all the animal gates in the fence, with the fauna that's in the grassland I would have though the land manager would want it to be more predator proof. The cache was easy enough to find, just took some circling to see it. The thistles nearby made it a bit harder to get to, all fine. Thanks for the cache and the series!

Another great find, this time a near a beautiful big tree. The ground cover of clustered everlasting (Chrysocephalum semipapposum) was truly beautiful, although hard to walk through. I like these kind of containers, they seem to very extra weather proof and always have a perfectly dry log in them. Thanks for the cache!

There really were so many spiders out here today, including a beautiful 20 cent piece sized spider I found here. This cache took me a bit of circling, but I eventually got on the correct angle and found the cache. Thanks for bringing me to this rocky outcrop and for the cache!

I bumped into a twitcher on my way through the stile nearby. Next time I shall have to bring my binoculars, while I could hear many birds, they were all in the canopy and backlit, so I couldn't identify them. The twitcher said he had seen some dollar birds, which I was particularly jealous of. I saw a fringe lily while walking in from the path, which was very exciting. While not overly rare, they're so interesting and I always get excited when I see them. The cache was in a perfect little spot, at first I thought it was a field puzzle cache where you had to get the container out of the log, but it was easier than expected. Thanks for the cache binliner, and for keeping the series going mountainsbeyond!

I was getting rather hot and sweaty on this muggy day, so I decided to head back towards the car. I stopped by this cache, and was amazed by the area. There were Blue Devils (Eryngium ovinum) everywhere, it was incredible. I saw one that was half a metre off the ground and about half a metre in circumference, way bigger than the little ground ones you normally see! Cache was in good condition, and easy enough to find. Thanks for the cache!

I was meant to head back towards my car after the last cache, but this one had more favourites than the others so I thought to myself "oh well, I could do just one more"! There was a beautiful grassland nearby, with a few animal trails through, so I cut through there t get to the cache. A great spot for a cache, but some decently hard bush bashing. Time to head for the car and the aircon, via the overflow carpark. Thanks for the cache!

I've been a little lazy recently, so decided to make the most of a day off work and go for a bike ride. I had worked out where the photo was when the cache was published, so decided to do the rest of the work today. The degrees and distance were found easily, the hard part was getting a chance to stand between the "albinos", as some kids were playing here and I didn't want to weirdly stand in the middle of their game. Luckily, it soon took them off to look at some nearby sculptures, and I could take my bearing. As another cacher had mentioned, I was a little confused on approach as I had also found the cache that used to be very close to this one. I only found the previous one recently, glad I did as it was a great suburban large. A nice spot for the new cache, just out of the way enough that you can duck in and out without being seen. Thanks for the next cache in this series Flinestone's, I've been loving it! Luckily having cached in Canberra for about a year now, I've been taken to enough weird and wonderful locations that I've recognised all the photos.

I’d been meaning to come out and find this cache for a while. I did all the required work early in 2021, and have been slowly making my way though the series. I found myself at the large store down the road this afternoon, and decided to take myself for a walk to grab the cache. Easy placement and in good condition. Thanks for this iteration of this wonderful series GrayHams!

What a fantastic day out! This was my third MEGA, I had previously attended Parkville and St Arnaud. Having been to Geocaching Victoria MEGAs before I had high expectations, and yet they were still exceeded! I had intended on coming for the entire weekend, but my plans changed due to covid. Instead, I came along for three hours, incorporating the MEGA and maze in my drive home from Melbourne to Canberra. But there was no way I was missing the maze and what was sure to be an incredible event, even if I had to cut it short. My muggle partner and I did the maze (which we loved), then head out the back to do all the gadget caches. The gadgets were inspirational and truly splendid. Our favourites were the Word link, Brick It (the Lego one) and the pneumatic gadget. Thank you to all involved for another amazing MEGA, and I look forward to next years!

My friends and I have come up to Yarck for a friendship weekend away, or the so called Jolly January Jetaway. We had come into Alexandra for coffee and some food, and I of course checked the app. I saw this cache (and all its favourite points) and was intrigued. I dragged my partner down here and set to finding the geocache. There were a few muggles around, but none in close proximity. We checked the wrong structure for a while to no avail. I suggested we try the other side, and the started noticing some interesting shapes. Inside one was the cache and it’s mechanism. What an amazing way of getting the cache in and out, a method I had never seen! Very impressed, the spot was perfect. Thanks Clever Monkey

Wow, what an incredible view!!!

I was down in Melbourne for the summer holidays to see family and friends. This weekend my partner and I were driving from the western suburbs up to Yarck for a weekend with friends, for the annual Jolly January Jetaway. While checking out the directions to Yarck, I saw a section of road that looked familiar. After consulting the geocaching map, I realised that I had been checking out the area while looking for high favourited caches in Victoria. We’ll, there was no way that I was going to drive within a couple of hundred metres of Victorias first and not stop! I convinced my partner into a short detour and stretch of the legs, a request that did not surprise him.

We parked at the very easy parking spot, went through the gate and made our way down to the cache. Took a while to get the right tree, but not very long. There was a massive spider guarding the cache, had it been hired by the CO and cache guardian to help keep this historic cache in the game? It was amazing to find this piece of geocaching history! The view was truly breathtaking, what a perfect cache for the first in the state. I can’t imagine trying to get down (and back up) the ravine for the rescue of the crash victims.

Thanks for this great cache George, and thanks Day for keeping it going all these years! In amazing condition with the babooshka containers. I put my name in the new-ish book (new compared to the cache at least), took in the scenery a bit longer, and was on my way.

Changing my Will attend to be 2 people and on Saturday (instead of 1 person on Sunday). Looking forward to it!

The container was full of water and the log completely drenched. This cache will need maintenance, most likely with a new container as well as a new log. Thanks!

Amazing cache, loved the simple mechanism. I got distracted with another interesting item near GZ, but read the description again and realised where I needed to look. I soon figured out what was needed, and set to work retrieving the cache. I did regret wearing a bright red and orange jumpsuit to this cache, I felt a little exposed. Luckily, there were no replacement buses as others had experienced, and being in the holiday period the area was really empty. Signed and replaced the cache, and wound up my time at the cache. Thanks for the excellent cache bob the builder 123!

Should have been tens of thousands of people at the 'G' today, but since the Poms couldn’t make it to the fourth day of the Boxing Day test, it was nice and quiet and I was able to search in peace. I can see why this is so highly favourited, the hide was incredible! A perfect fit, and excellent construction to be able to get the container in place. A favourite for sure! Thanks Cam Bendy for the amazing cache so close to a Melbournian icon.

A very cool cache! In many ways it was serendipitous that I decided to find this cache today. I was visiting the area with my partner, to play our first ever game of Dungeons and Dragons with some friends who live nearby. I was trying to decide which cache to find, when I saw this one. Yesterday I had helped my partner change over his mums smoke detector batteries, and so we had a few 9 Volt batteries sitting around! It was too good to be true, so of course came out for this cache. It was very well constructed, I loved how you got the clue for the lock. Luckily both my muggle partner and I have 20/20 eyesight, so we were in very quickly. Thanks for the amazing field puzzle cache plowfive!

I dropped off my muggle partner at the train station, and made my way down here for this new cache. There was a muggle playing with his dog at the park, but I managed to find a time to grab the cache. In good condition, and replaced a lot easier that retrieved. Thanks for the cache anthls

A great spot for the cache, although I do wish I had worn gaiters or pants rather than shorts. Unfortunately the container was wet, making the code unreadable. The bottom of the container has also come off, so while the log is accessible you couldn't sign. I'll put this one on the watch list, as I'd love to see the fantastic field puzzle in action! Thanks for the cache ALL7!

Today I drive from Canberra to Melbourne, to visit family and friends for the holidays. I wanted to make sure that I found a cache in all three states and territories I passed through, and increase my maximum distance in a day. I found five caches on the journey, which worked well to break up the nine hour solo drive. Thanks to the cache owners for keeping me entertained!

What an excellent hiding spot! This was my last geocache I found on the journey home today, and easily the best. I can see why this TB Hotel has so many favourite points. There were a lot of slugs in the cache, but the inside was nice and fresh. I visited all four of the trackables in the cache, and took two with me so they can visit the nations capital. Thanks for the awesome camo and build of this cache Team Ladava!

I was needing a stop off, while the last two hours had gone fast my shoulders were starting to hurt. This cache was well constructed and placed, I particularly liked the mechanism for rolling and unrolling the log. There were a few people around, but on the other side of the toilet block from the cache. Thanks for an excellent highway side cache Harrowang!

Found while taking my first proper break on the drive from Canberra to Melbourne. A nice memorial hall, I particularly liked the big mural on the side of the building and the metal soldiers. Now off for a wrap and coffee in the park, thanks to Coffee at Joes (which was very tasty). Thanks for bringing me here Strange Trousers.

What a fantastic container! I had to do a lot of circling to find the spot, while trying not to look to strange as people drove past. I eventually got on the correct angle, and saw the spot. The ground was a uncomfortable while retrieving in shorts, but I soon had it in had. The container was perfect to the spot. A few slugs on the outside, but still in good condition. Thanks for all the rest stop caches Robmc, the Victorian part of the Hume is much more fun thank the NSW section, that has very few caches! I decided to leave the other one for another trip to Melbourne, this was a well located petrol station as I was hitting the final quarter of my tank.

This was my fifth time here, third time searching for the cache and first time finding! I had to drive past twice, as there were a couple of teenagers sitting pretty much right on top of GZ, potentially as you used to as a kid and teen Aussie Guy 007. The other two times I managed to have a search, but to no avail. I saw today that there had been maintenance at the cache, so came over while I knew it would be there. Not how I expected it to be hidden, but at least it was there when I was searching. Thanks for sharing the memories Aussie Guy 007!

Found after my last AFL 9's game (and post game pub dinner) for the year. The container was fantastic, a great way to hide a front yard cache. Didn't have to search around for long which I appreciated, while I was there for a good reason it would have looked weird. At least there weren't too many cars, and it was too late for walkers. Loved the back story of the container, glad you took up the challenge and put it into the world! It was a bit late at night, so I decided not to call in to say hi. Thanks for the cache TivkaNZ!

What a beautiful tree! I'm surprised the geocache hasn't been disturbed by local kids, but very glad it's been left alone. I was a little unsure as to whether the rungs would hold my weight, but figured other geocachers must have used them and all seemed fine in the logs, so I went for it. GZ was indeed wide and hollow, and I was unable to get the cache by reaching in. So I decided to get in the hole myself. It was easy enough to get in, a little harder to get out but I managed it. The log was beyond signing, it was very wet. It will need maintenance and the container may need better waterproofing. Thanks for bringing me to this excellent tree D+d' and for the cache!

A beautiful location, especially in spring with a nearby with a meadow of Hoary Sunrays! I had completed the leg work for this multi a few weeks ago, when I came to WP1 for a Adventure Lab. I took home the information, worked out the co-ords for GZ, and decided to come back when I was comfortable finding physical caches again. Well, I've been back finding physicals again for a few weeks, and decided to ride my bike out to here. The ride up the Forster Crescent was a struggle, but it was easier than the last time I attempted it! I soon had the cache in hand, in a perfect spot. After a bit of a wander to look at some flowers, I headed home while the sun was still up. Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful area Secret Squirrel BJC, and a massive thank you to Captain Tomato for keeping this oldie alive and in good condition!

I didn't get a chance to go out at lunch time today, and admittedly was a bit sore from a lot of recent riding. I settled for an after work driving cache up to Manuka, driving up to this cache as I have sworn off cycling up Flinders Ways after being viciously swooped by a magpie at a nearby roundabout. I had to linger at this cache for a while, there were a few families walking past, with unfortunately observant children who were looking at me with interest. Once they had moved on, I dived in to get the cache. Easy to find and in good condition. Thanks for the cache Dragon 1982!

I came out for one cache tonight, to maintain my streak and get some sunlight. I decided to drive, as I was a bit sore from a weekend of cycling, and was wary cycling on Flinders Way after being viciously swooped by a magpie here once. However, one cache quickly turned into two, as I had too much fun at Watch Sports 1, and wanted to avenge this cache. The last time I came for this cache, it was dusk and I only had limited time. I really struggled, and ended up leaving and going for an adventure lab. This time I had the luxury of sunlight and time, and was successful! Its a great feeling to avenge a cache, especially one so close to home. Thank you Dragon 1982!

Earlier this year I joined the Friends of Aranda Bushland, after I saw a CITO for one of their monthly weeding parties. I’ve come along to a couple now, as I enjoy getting a bit muddy and doing some hands on conservation work. Today was the first weeding day after lockdown, it was very exciting to get back out to the snow gums area. This cache is only a 100m detour from the parking spot for the Snow Gums area, so I decided to finally come and find this cache. Did a quick lap, and found the container and its excellent friend. Easily signed and replaced in peace. A few muggles passed, but all on very speedy bikes, much too fast to question what I was doing. Thanks for the cache Big Dad 57!

Woooooo!!! What an excellent adventure this was! I completed this cache over two outings. I collected the information at the listed coordinates when at the lookout for an Adventure lab. A few weeks later I decided to ride to WP2 to collect the second bit of information. I got a bit confused with the bearing, but worked out a sensible spot soon. My partner decided to come for the bike ride with me, to check out a new area and go for a longer cycle. We worked out GZ on the spot, and decided that we might as well go and grab it since it was on the way home. Well, this was where the real adventure started. After 45 minutes of searching, climbing over prickles and rummaging in undergrowth, it was time to get a hint. Luckily Tankengine responded quickly, and corrected my coordinate maths. We were only 20m ish off, but it was well and truly enough to prevent a find. With the correct coordinates in hand, we managed to get the cache in (comparatively) no time. My muggle partner found the clue, and then I found the cache. To be honest, finding the clue seemed like more of the prize after an hour or searching! Thanks for the excellent cache Tankengine, and for keeping it in the game for so long.

Day number one out of lockdown, woooo! I came out for a short ride at lunch before my meeting, and decided to do a loop around Capital. I had hoped to find Rivers, but I really should have done that when lockdown was still on, as it was very busy by now. So I made a detour and came to find this cache instead. It took me a while to solve this puzzle, for quite a while I had no idea where to start. But one day I was solving puzzles on my laptop, and finally saw something out of place. There were the coordinates! The hide was simple enough, a luckily the area wasn't completely crazy so I was able to sign and replace in peace. Thanks for the great puzzle and cache Flinstone's!

Tonight I ventured out for a evening cycle and a geocache in Yarralumla. I had collected the co-ords for WP2 a few weeks ago, and decided to come and finish off the multi tonight. There were a couple sitting nearby eating some food, but luckily not at the spot I needed. I was then a short walk over to the cache. I ended up using the hint, my phone was bouncing all around the place. It was very useful, there were very few places that fit the bill. There was a magpie nearby that was a bit unsure of me, it looked like it may have swooped if I go a few metres closer. Luckily, I didn't need to and was able to retrieve and sign in safety. Thanks for the cache and ride along the lake!

No luck for me here today. I'd tried to find this cache once before, when visiting for an Adventure Lab. Still no luck, might have to wait for some maintenance or a positive log. Thanks anyway grapeandbean.

Tonight was a plasma donation night, which I do every three weeks. After a successful donation and my favourite snacks (a chocolate milk, sausage roll, and rocky road slice), I came out for a geocache. After an unsuccessful shot at Berroca Bama, I made my way down to this cache. If searching at twilight or in the dark, be very careful of the rabbit warren near GZ. Found in good condition, a little exposed but far away enough from passing traffic that it didn't matter. Rehidden with the hope that it keep being left alone, but who knows with the bunnies, or maybe a squirrel going up a tree? Thanks for the cache Big Dad 57!

Out and about on a lunchtime bike ride. My partner had said that he often rides over here, and calls friends and family while e enjoys the beautiful spot. Knowing there was a cache here, I decided to check out the area. It was indeed stunning, a great view of the lake and a planted out well. After a bit of circling, I found something suspicious. The hunch was correct, as the cache was attached. I sat down on a nearby chair to sign, glad that I'd found the cache and that I had the area to myself. I rode back the way I came, to avoid an aggressive magpie at Bowen Park. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5!

What a good single offset multi. I had collected the information I needed for this cache a few weeks ago when completing an Adventure Lab. I made my first attempt to find the cache last week, but between the long grass and a bit of uncertainty, I came away empty handed. Luckily, I looked at this cache page yesterday and saw there had been maintenance. Knowing that it had to be there (and hoping/assuming the cache owner had left a fresh geotrail), I came out a third time. This time I was right in, and had the container in hand nearly straight away. Turns out, it’s a little higher than normal, which should help with moisture. Now I can cycle past here without being haunted by an y found geocache, thanks AngelG27!

Shortly before we reached this peak, my partner remarked on how long it had taken to get to this point, well over an hour. I'd warned him that I'd be slow, speed walkers don't find cool plants or geocaches! Also, I hate hills and will take any opportunity to stop. The area was beautiful, especially with the meadow of Hoary Sunrays (Leucochrysum albicans) nearby. The cache was in good condition, and nice and safe. Someone had been doing some weeding around here, but at no danger to the cache. Thanks for the cache bubble & squeak!

I had gone out hiking by myself a fair bit recently, looking for geocaches and orchids. My partner was keen to join today, as the weather was gorgeous and he thought a joint adventure would be fun. He had been to Mount Majura before, but had gone a different path. Our heading was decided by the most geocaches of course, plus I wanted bush track rather than the powerlines to maximise orchid potential. We saw many beautiful flowers and orchids, but the pinnacle of the day was finding a spider orchid on the way back down! A fantastic day out! Thanks to all the caches owners for placing and maintaining caches in such a great place!
