Logs for Audacious

16-Dec-12
After getting the Geocaching bug again we set off after this one, as it was another close to home, and great to get back into the swing of things, as well as testing the gps units which have been sitting in the drawer far too long. This one was harder to find, and the amount of rubbish around was a little discouraging. We found it but it had quite a bit of moisture inside.

Being out of geocaching for so long we were not really prepared, so we dried it as best we could with what we had available. We took a Geocaching type business card left by "Moosetash", because it was completely soaked through, and there was no way to dry it out, and putting it back would have subjected the cache to more moisture. We left nothing, as we were only intending to fill in logs.

Thank you for placing this, I had no idea this place existed

We have not done a cache in years, and this one was in a local park we walk our dogs in often. So it was surprising to realise we had been visiting a cache site for so long with no idea. It was a great one to get back into Geocaching with and reignite the spark. My youngest son definitely has the Geocaching bug now. We took nothing and left nothing. Thankyou for placing this.

Not too much trouble finding this one although we had a long walk from Long Point road. Had to be careful due to muggles around. Gorgeous bush scenery. Took the poker chip and left a roll of dog poo bags.....we didn't have anything else that would fit in the cache. Thanks!

Just passing again and thought we'd have another look. Such a great walk although we went the long way around!
it's just over a year since we first found this one and all is still okay with the cache and its hiding spot. TNLNSL

Quite a tricky one as all ti trees look alike, even the arched ones! This was our first multi-cache with a friend new to the sport. Our son loved the ammo box, but we ended up taking the tiny keyring torch, and left a roll of dog poo bags, a pen on a lanyard and a glitter glue pen. A lovely park, but lots of muggles around. Our dogs loved the park too!

Did this one just on dark during school holidays. Quite easy to find. We took a poker chip and left an extendable magnet. Now looking for the rest of the series.

We didn't realise that this cache was unavailable as we had downloaded the waypoint with several others, as a result we made the mistake of starting at the very bottom of the track. It was a tough slog up the hill for 1100 meters for us and 5 kids (not all ours), to discover there was another carpark about 50 meters away from the cache. A lot of clearing had been done but we still found it. The container has a small hole in the corner and the contents were damp, so we put everything in a ziplock bag and back in the container.Took a very annoying horn and left a candle.
Thanks Piggysue

A nice easy one, after a very long walk to another cache close by. Took the child's ball and left a recipe book. People may want to know that the "nearest form of public transport" is out of service for the foreseeable future.

By the way your log book is full.

It took us a couple of goes to find the starting place for this cache. After that it was a beautiful easy walk to where it was located, and it didn't take too long to find. We took bubble mixture and left a padlock.

Thanks for another good one muzza

We had driven past this one late one afternoon, and thought we had to walk a couple of K's to reach it so we left it for another day. We tried again today and found the walking track close by, it was a pleasant walk and a beautiful area, the cache was fairly easy to find, and the contents were a little damp, the lid was on tightly tho, so it is either due to condensation, or the previous trouble with the cache not being sealed properly. We took the stubby holder and left a book light, and made sure the lid was on tight again...stepping on it helped. Thanks Team Frogger!

We did this one later in the day, and it was starting to get dark when we found it...whats left of the bird is still there, and my 4yr old asked if it was really dead! Beautiful spot, and we have to go back again soon just for a longer visit.

We decided on this one thinking it was a nice easy one that we could use to get us back into Geocaching and blow the dust off the GPS, after an hour of searching we went back to the car for the clue and realised we had put in the wrong co-ordinates and had been searching in the wrong place!!..With the right co-ordinates it was a nice walk and easy find.
We took the toy car and left a couple of Pooh Bear pens (as thats all we had with us that would fit)
Thanks!

We had to sneak around a bit at this one, as there were some Shire workers cutting down trees very close to this cache, and we didnt want to draw attention to it, so after we found it we wrote a quick log and took a babies toy and left a candle that is in the shape of some bears, beautiful area and the kids enjoyed seeing a lot of skinks and birds

Took a mate on this one to introduce him to geocaching and both our GPS units pointed to the wrong side of the track. We spent a fair amount of time searching and nearly gave up when the Vista pointed to the other side where we did find it!....just as my mate was doubting the whole thing, anyway we swapped the glow shark for a kids bedtime story cassette....my son loves this game!

It was a beautiful Monday so we decided to try for this one after picking the kids up from school. as it's a fairly close one. We found it about 10 minutes after we parked (4:45pm) and found that it had about an inch of water in it, so we dried it as best we could, and put zip lock bags on some of the things that didnt have them already, although a few items had already suffered a little damage, took a packet of pencils and left some scented soaps, nice spot, and
my son loved the nearby dam. Glenn, Caz & kids

Found it at 12.35pm on a wet and cold Sunday.(Make sure you BYO toilet paper if you want to use the loo.) What a beautiful drive to a beautiful place! We'll be back again when the weather is better. Swapped a Battleship game for two Cold Shoulders (neck coolers).

This was a nice easy one for our first attempt. We found it at 9.30am on a cold and wet Sunday, and also learned to take spare socks and shoes. The kids claimed the water balloons and left a Cold Shoulder(neck cooler). We have definitely got the geobug, and even the kids are keen to find more.
