Not only the high point in Kimball County, but at 5424 feet, it is the highest point in all of Nebraska! Known as Panorama Point, it is very close to where the corners of Nebraska and Wyoming meet the Colorado state line, and all three states can be viewed from this spot. Buffalo are known to roam here, but we didn't see any today.

We took a little road trip today and found caches in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska, before heading back home. A long but fun day.

We found a couple of state border signs that were on back roads and probably hadn't been logged before, but we chose this one since we recently became CO residents. This is on hwy 71, leaving Nebraska and entering Colorful Colorado... specifically Weld County... not too far from the middle of nowhere!

After a long and treacherous hike, Paul and I made the trip to the correct location.

We left a huge Caterpillar we picked up at another virtual cache from Boron, California and took the mine shaft elevator.

Thanks for the cool and fun cache.

This is a great display of several aircraft and missiles located just outside of the Naval Weapons Test Squadron base in Pt. Magu, California. This nice little rest spot along Pacific Coast Highway is also a location of a fun virtual cache. Once upon a time there was an actual cache here, but the MPs convinced several finders it was a bad idea to be wandering in the bushes so close to the fence line

How quickly things change. We logged the Santa Felicia Dam at Lake Piru, California on January 1st. You can see our posted (January 1st log) photos to see how low the water level was at that time. Last night, because of the 3 back-to-back rainstorms we've been hit with in Southern California, the dam was overflowing!

Elevation 1150 ft.

Like Piru was formed by the Santa Felicia Dam constructed by the United Water Conservation District in 1955. A multi-use facility serving Ventura County, California. Lake Piru provides water conservation, flood control, hydro-power, seawater intrusion abatement, groundwater recharge, recreation, irrigation, municipal and industrial water supplies.

Santa Felicia Dam is 200 feet high and stores 88,340 acre-feet of water. The length of the lake is 4.1 miles, and the average width is one mile.

We found this unique hand-carved door while on a vacation in Mooro Bay, CA. As you can see, the house was interesting too.

05-Mar-03
We found this clock in Disneyland, California near the Haunted Mansion. We were very surprised no one else had logged this one. We weren't able to log in until we got home the weekend after.

Sorry to see this cache was archived. We're hoping our log stays, as we found it before the archival date.

I like the locationless and just decided to see what the first one was. So glad I was able to do this one from home!

Very cool information.
