Logs for Rhodolith
27-Mar-05
Exciting hunt, chose the wrong path at first (of course...). Don't stay in the forest longer than 10 minutes or sandflies will eat you. Left TB Norbert the Moose, TN.

Railway, river and cache: a perfect mixture for a nice stop. Thanks a lot. Picked up "Miles" Catch a Train TB, but I won't be able to bring it out of the country.
[Very nice spot,] the tower gave me the feeling of being back in the past. I was there with hguo and we did see the train passing at distance, but it was not such a special experience. Many thanks anyway!

I reallly enjoyed this cache. Not only because of the gardens but also because of the intriguing magnetic case! Secret agent style!
Picked up TB Bucko, the elastic red horse, and released TB Katie Bear after taking some picture of her in the garden
Arrived late at sunset with hguo. Very difficult search because of darkness. Eventually, we got it, thanks to hguo geosense. Left TB Spring the Pony, annoyed by TB Bucko's (the Little Red Horse) advances...

Found it with hguo. The nearby lookout is breathtaking, especially at sunset. Cache hidden in a suggestive forest, some kauri trees also present

Nice place very close to the lake, some interesting volcanic rocks outcrop along the path (ash layers and accretionary lapilli)
[Really hard to find! especially for] non-botanists [people!]

I now know what flowforms are! Viewed from above they resemble a fossilized dinosaur veretbral column.

The hidingplace was nice, but the area around was nothing special. Don't miss bathing for free in the nearby hot pool!

I would consider Huka falls a must for NZ visitors. Thank you for hiding a cache in this wonderful place.

Found it with my master hguo, thanks to his skills! We needed the hint, though. Nice path, should be walked at sunset

This was one of my first caches, under the supervision of master hguo, who's introducing me in this new world!

Great walk along the river. Beware of occasional muggles. The area is just a bit smelling!

Dangerous place because of muggles all around. It was my first find with a geocacher mindset! Where would someone hide it? Think about this and you'll find it! Even before hguo!

What a peaceful area!!! Many compliments for the choice of the hiding place: looks like has been created on purpose
