Logs for Silama

03-Jan-12
Out doing something else and it popped up on my GPS ...

Found with some help from another cacher who happened to be there at the same time.

Looked for this a long time ago when I didn't know about this sort of hide. Years later it now seemed easy ...

17-Oct-11
My appologies for not getting to this earlier.
It appears that the simplest way to solve the missing bug problem is simply to include the bug information in the cache description with the bug title. I have modified the cache description to include this. Good Luck.

14-Jul-11
I apologise to anyone still waiting for the travel bugs to re-appear with the first part of the clues Red Face. They have gone missing Twisted and been replaced several times so it appears that this is not a great way of starting. I am currently thinking about some other way of doing this and will post it as soon as I have it worked out. Smile

Went looking to see if my travelbug was here as recorded. Unfortunately no. Looks like another one has bitten the dust. Sad

09-Jan-11
Needed the exercise but I'm not sure I like soft sand . . .

Reminds me of one of mine (Geologists Hollow Victory) Smile

Nice and easy while waiting for the roads to stop flooding . . . T:Green Monkey L:N

Well the canister is still there Smile

14-Jul-10
Haven't had a FTF for a long time . . .
i could reach this with 2 stone throws from where I live. When I first saw it I thought I had two clear options - never thought of this one Big Grin

03-Jan-10
The actual cache wasn't hard but my GPS map shows roads that don't exist in this area and of course I started from the "wrong" side Sad . . .

Not too hard Smile

Not sure if the numbers were not correct or it was in the wrong spot but a thorough search (using the hint) found it about 30m from where expected!

Found on a day way too hot to be doing this Smile TNLN

02-Jan-10
also stumped on the "two birds" clue but as it was only the last digit of one co-ordinate did the 0 and 9 digit positions and checked along the line between taking note of the "hint" in the log. Still didn't find it! Sometimes there are just too many possible places.

Easy enough. . . TNL Paddyk collectable

Parked on road nearby and walked straight in.
TNL Pepper Memorial Geocoin

A sensible micro for a change !!

Pity my maps are out of date . . . could have driven right to it !!

27-Dec-09
Not too much trouble Smile

Interesting finding an easy way in . . .

I forgot how you really have to LOOK for micros . . .

You know it's there (this location will hardly get "muggled") but sometimes it takes a while.

31-Jan-09
Went back and signed the log. The very strange man had gone thank goodness.

I just realised that this must count as an FTF !!
First one for a long time. Smile
At the time I signed it I just thought there must have been a new log left after an old one was filled up.

14-Dec-08
Didn't have any notes. Just out for the day with a GPS. Didn't realise it was a micro. Found some rubbish which looked like a destroyed cache so gave up. Darn! Sad

Third time lucky. It made a big difference to me as to where I started from. TNLN

Haven't found an Aushiker cache for quite a while. Must have been looking in all the wrong places. TNLN

No 2 for today. Riding trails off the Bib. Track and hike in when close.
TNLN.

(There was a guy from NZ staying here. He works 2 weeks in the north and then stays one week out on the track. Doesn't have any other place to live. Is it just me or is the world becoming a little strange?)

Nice quick find on my way home. TNLN

And another quite close by in the one walk Smile TNLN

No 5 for today. Riding trails off the Bib. Track and hike in when close.

Just out with a GPS and no clues. Easy find thank goodness. Smile

I didn't sign the log as there was a very strange man staying here who thought I "shouldn't touch anything as there were too many people on the track now destroying everything". His hiking equipment consisted of a pair of thongs and a bottle of shampoo! I left fairly quickly.

07-Dec-08
Didn't realise it was disabled. Still lots of space in the logbook - just not at the end - spaces everywhere.

Surprised myself - found it! TNLN

Second the maintenance comments. TNLN

22-Nov-08
I forgot you have to look for "black" as "being there" not as "not being there" Big Grin As I hadn't set out to cache I TNLN.

31-Aug-08
Fortunately the kangaroo seems to have departed - or the wind changed direction - either way it was only the mozzies that were a problem.

I saw the Grand Prix race there in 1962 and the last race in 1968.

TNLN.

I must do that multi near here one day (when I go more prepared than today)!

TNLN

So much for the no 4 wheel drive policy around here - you could get run over if you stood still for too long.

What does the swamp frog say ?

"Kneedeep Kneedeep"

Claiming a virtual find as I was without waders today !

Have photo of visible cache - just not prepared to get that wet!

At least if you are a "cacher" you know you are looking for something "suspicious". I hope the local authorities are aware of the "goings on" around here! Red Face

Out on a pleasant afternoon ride. TNL:Pen
