Logs for Spike Downunder

08-Mar-15
Found by Louise while playing. Will do the trail another day.

08-Oct-11
No time to look as geomum and geokids wanted to only have a quick look at the waterfall and needed help to get down. Great location!

22-Oct-05
Have been here before, but then there were too many muggles. This time, the threat of rain meant I had a muggle free hunt.
This cache is in desparate need of repair. The contents are completely soaked, and the log is unusable as it waterlogged.
Took nothing, left nothing, not even my ink on the log!

23-Apr-05
I went for a cycle from my home in Williamstown, and somehow ended up here. A waypoint on the GPS made this cache a great objective, and what a view of Melbourne.

Took nothing left nothing.

28-Mar-05
Must have been a few minutes behind Partic all day! Visited all locations by bike, with the GPS running out of juice about 100m from the cache. This is when clues become invaluable!

An enjoyable afternoon spent around Willie. Thanks Robmc.

Left nothing, took nothing.

09-Jan-05
Returned to find the cache this time. Looked several times before I found the cache. It was in the same place that I was looking for it before. Mental note: must clean glasses more often! Lovely park on a warm Sunday afternoon.

Left Smashing Penny, took US quarter.

A short excursion from the Woozle Hunt is this great view of the city. Worth a visit. Answers confirmed by Biggles Bear.

Took a lovely stroll around the park while using GCing as the excuse to get here. Great series of waypoints to be found. Muggles did not seem concerned at the two of us wondering around with paper in hand - I guess they thought that we were on a more conventional form of treasure hunt. That and the GPS cover I got for Chrimbo hides the bright yellow eTrex and makes it look much more like a phone. Biggles Bear has confirmaed answers (5/6).

Took a while to realise that, as stated in the notes, there is no plaque. I used to live close to here, and so have seen this sculpture many times before. However, it was good to visit an old friend. I cannot say though that this elicts much response from me, apart from this being a familiar icon of Melbourne to me. However it is not on my visitor's tour as one of the top sites!

18-Dec-04
I knew where it was as soon as I had got the new coords, but there was a problem - it was a hot sunday afternoon and everyone was enjoying the shade in the park. One person reading a book next to the coords - and a walk past proved it. I came back an hour later and they were gone.

Great cache on a hot afternoon. Took a few attempts to find the updates coords - I seem to be suffering the same fate as others with mathematics (must be the location!). Went hunting for a little while then found it - that's what I have been looking for!

Took Smashing Penny - Left wooden duck.

Last Cache for the day and the heat was beginning to get to me. Loved the park, but looked in the most obvious spots, without sucess. Will try again another day when it is not so warm that it is conspicous that you are not seeking shade!

01-Nov-04
I must look at the map before I do these things. I also did not have the details, just a waypoint in my GPS. Hence we did a lot of scambling on foot up the hill in the rain (and lightening). Great view of Bright that I would not have seen otherwise. Stayed in a nearby campsite - the Outside Inn. Great showers!

23-Oct-04
Great little cache. I live within a few klicks of here and did not know of this place at all. That is why I love GCing - you get an excuse to explore!

Confirm that you have to leave the path in order to reach the cache.

Left: gold glitter, Took: plastic spider

Great place for a walk - and probably would never have got here if it wasn't for the cache. Took a little while to find - but after a little while and almost walking away in disgust, a quick final chech and there it was! Took: Duck, Left: Plastic Spider.

16-Oct-04
Found it after a little hunting around - going to blame the 9m accuracy on the satellites instead of the hunter!
Left: Red hand reflector
Took: Gold glitter tube

Not much of a fan, but always wondered about this street when seeing it on telly in the UK. Now can say I've been there. Didn't look like I thought it would, but I have not watched an episode for a long time. Have had find confirmed by email.

Found my first cache - no longer a geocaching virgin! I had visited this park once before, but a while ago. A great retreat on the way home.
