Logs for Tassie_Boy

01-Nov-23
Young bloke didn't have the patience for me finding this one today

26-Oct-23
Found this one a while ago. I was wracking my brain trying to work out the answers and looking at things around town but it turns out the questions are lifted directly from a particular website.

12-Oct-23
Found GZ not a problem, but didn't find the cach as once I worked out what to look for the Jnr. Cacher in the car had had enough and wanted to move on.

19-Feb-23
Found. But didn't.

Some of us will likely need tools.

30-Jan-23
Out for a wander with the young fella and was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of caches in the area.

So if course i has to do them all at once and not have any for later.

Having dialed on my cache sense on the other one in the area this one was easy. There were 3 boys walking ahead of me but were around the corner when I made the find.

Been down this track a couple of times out of curiosity oblivious to there being a cache present.

First hunt after a fairly significant break and cache senses were right out. Looking around when I should have been feeling under, looking for a tiger when I should have been looking for a hippo. Eventually found it though and the young fella was happy to be on the move again.

THIS is the sort of cache I enjoy looking for.

It took some hunting but for some reason, even though it blends into the scenery well, it just said "Look at Me"

A few more caches along this track than last time I came looking.

It was a warm, windy day but that didn't hinder me.

My first thought approaching GZ was "I don't wanna go in there, that's a snake paradise".

Then I stepped back and found the actual hide... was hesitant but not as much of a jump back to the track if need be.

29-Jan-23
Cache found out of original hide, replaced once signed.

This garden is a beautiful little memorial and the area generally is a great spot to sit for a bit

Cache is very close to the active railway, potentially as close as 2 meters.

Access to ground zero is only available from the walking track that runs parallel to the lines and crossing lines is required to make find. I am concerned that a cacher without full situational awareness may be caught off guard and there is not a lot of space to get out of the way if caught at cache with train approaching.

Found the cache, am quite concerned about how close it is to the tracks though.

Points for the container.

Just a heads up though that the log is wet as the container isn't actually waterproof

Hmmm.

Can see GZ but like the other one in not keen on going into snake territory today

Day out for Jnr's birthday and I'm glad to say he's taking some interest in geocaching.

Attempted the find with another cacher and the thick canopy had the GPSs playing silly buggers. So I turned it off and did it the old fashioned way.

Almost, almost a DNF, as the others in our party weren't going to wait around to long but thankfully I know that Parks don't tolerate certain plants, especially in high visibility areas.

Nup.

Wasn't planning on geocaching and have only got thongs on. Already saw a blue tongue on the track, not taking the chance that Sammy is chilling in the grass.

Quick (ish) find while others in the party went walking somewhere else.

Took the opportunity to teach Jnr. a trick or two about flushing out caches.

04-Jan-23
First cache find for a very long time and first find for Jnr.

Nice size box on a decent hide. Took nothing but good to see some goodies.

Bit more of a hike down to GZ than expected but we made it without either of us ending up on our bums.

Despite the good hiding spot the cache does stand out amongst its background.

Bit of a look but too tricky for us today.

15-Nov-20
Was walking along the top track and thought "if I was a geocache, I'd hide there". I was wrong.

Looked around again and thought "if I was a geocache of hide there" and was correct this time. Container is very well camouflaged but be aware of the dumped Stubbies at GZ

One child at a birthday party up the top and the other is happy to come for a ride with me. Hopefully this cache is the first of a few.

13-Nov-20
Found it with the hint, kids are annoying me now so it looks like just two for today and back again another time.

Our to get the dogs some we exercise and hopefully wear out some kids. Nice easy find to start the day with.

30-Jun-20
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

Logs report issues with this cache going back at least 2 years, inspections on the ground show that it is unserviceable and no real care is being taken off this cache.

28-May-20
Looked in the "obvious" spot and there was nothing.

12-Aug-19
Am not going to be able to get this cache for some time.

Archiving so someone else can use the area if they desire.

02-Jun-19
Fine missing, disabled while investigating

22-Oct-18
Didn't I make a mistake looking for this one, "the usual"for this type of GZ was bringing nothing. Switched to looking for "The unusual" but instead found a "very common" with a touch of "something's of but I can't put my finger on it".

Thanks to the CO for a great, creative hide. This is exactly what I've been looking for today.

24-Aug-18
I was looking for something completely different! But that doesn't matter because I found the cache anyway.

23-Aug-18
Finding GZ was the easy part, getting the container priced to be a little more difficult.

I knew I was getting close when someone else' game appeared.

The cows are in the middle of the track happily chewing away

What a beautiful park this is, sat here for wire a while after making the find.

It's wrong to take the headstones to use as kitchen benches right? Just wanted to clear that up first.

This is an amazing old cemetery with obviously lots of history, the young kids do always get me upset though.

Filling the cache relatively easily, signed and kept wandering.

Do note that log is fraying and a little bit of moisture will likely turn it to mush.

Marvellous views looking down the Tumut river there but I couldn't stop thinking "I want his office"as I was looking at the building on the hill off the car park.

13-Jan-18
Hide in very rough shape and container gone altogether. Disabling until I can get it sorted out.

Would also appreciate the logging of maintenance issues.

27-Dec-17
Absolutely stunning day for geocaching with views to match. Nice quick, easy find.

Credit to Mrs.Tassie_Boy for spotting the little details. Took a little bit but she got it.

27-Oct-17
Have looked at the description for this cache on a few occasions and even though I was sure I'd be left questioning my involvement in the game and my entire self worth today was going to be the day to attempt it.

I knew I was close (How far off could I possibly be in a small courtyard?) but of the couple of ways to take the hint I naturally took the wrong one. Fear not, while looking at what was going on around me I found something potentially useful, I only hope they cram help with my multiple-DNF induced nightmares.

14-Sep-17
Have to pass on this one again, think this was visit 4

22-Jul-17
Stopped to get date of find so I could attempt back log. Impossible, log is mush

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

19-Feb-17
Back logging because apparently I've been really slack this year.

We tackled the Abigail Trail because everyone was getting a bad case of cabin fever and these ones are nice and close to home. Also we thought that 3 weeks was a great age to start the young fella geocaching for some reason.

Look back at the house after we find it this was a basic, obvious one but as usual we were over thinking it so this took much longer than it should have.

11-Dec-16
Spent the weekend up at Augusta and decided to grab a handful of caches on our way home with this one being first. With all the likely spots it was the other half of the team that made the find in the end.

Every time I'm up at this spot I'm amazed but how much higher the new dam is compared to the old one, and how much of a piece of art the old wall is. I also find myself wondering if I'll ever not see the old wall.

The walk the leaves from near GZ was tempting but Jr. isn't treating Mum well at the moment and we decided to grab the cache and keep going, interestingly the muggles that turned up didn't seem at all perturbed by 2 people poking around old stumps.

10-Dec-16
This cache was quite convenient for us this weekend, we were lucky enough to be staying at the lodge over the road. GZ provided an excellent vantage point to see across the landscape (still surprised about how low Augusta is), also put us fair in the wind.
Signed log and raced back under dam wall level into some shelter.

08-Dec-16
Another cache I've passed many, many times. But the first time I've actually stopped here at all.

Of course I parked in the wrong spot (Bridgewater side by the bridge worksheds) but that gave me a good opportunity to take things in as I walked across, wondering about what exactly is in that little house and how often a car gets splashed by the pipe coming out of the floor.

07-Dec-16
The fairer half told me that council was pruning the hide yesterday which sent me into a minor panic that either the hide would be fine altogether out the cache taken as rubbish.

I am pleased to report that neither has happened and the cache is still safely where it was last time I was here and is still in good shape

Have had a half-hearted look for this in the past so made my way to roughly where I thought it was before looking at any details, then realised I'd gone past it.... way past it. Made my way back to the cache and signed log.
