Logs for Trolliet

17-Jul-10
Julia, Mary and myself found it on J's birthday and made the first entry on the new log. Mary's second cache. What a lot of butchers!

02-Jul-10
Maryam's first cache and she was very excited. It was a beautiful day and we had a very pleasant short walk to this cache. TNLN. Found at 1545.

07-Apr-07
Wouls someone please adopt this as I am no longer in the area and able to maintain it. Otherwise I'll archive it.

16-Mar-07
CITO doesn't seem to happen so I'm archiving all caches and abandoning the pursuit. Goodbye to you all.

07-Aug-06
Ok, this cache is back on line with more sensible coordinates. Good luck

06-Aug-06
I've revisited the site and grabbed new coords which are 150m south of those originally posted. I've also upgraded the difficulty rating due to the near impossibility of getting a reliable lock-on in this location. The cache is at the foot of a low dropoff. My map ref off the paper is 54H 0293000 6123360.

03-Aug-06
Sorry for the delay in recaching the geocoin, but it's on its way again.

19-Jul-06
An easy find, but one that requires leaving the track for some distance, something Im less and less happy about in terms of damage to vegetation. Am I alone in this? Thanks anyway. TNLN SL

18-Jul-06
Found this from the top where there were two abandoned cars. Took geocoin and left pen and batteries. SL TFTC

Found it in wet and muddy conditions, but cache was safe in its bag. Took TB duck and left coin as I had nothing else. Thanks.

10-Jul-06
This was a nice easy find on the way back from trying to buy a pink teeshirt. You could say I was magnetically attracted to it. TFTC

Found this as fire siren started so it was good to see CFS sticker here. Then met up with old Pat who had walked up from Waterfall Gully. An easy find, BUT watch out for snakes before you go grabbing at things in there. TFTC TNLNSL

I wish I'd known about this earlier. Had an important CFS exercise which would have stopped me being there anyway. Can we arrange this again sometime soon? 0433036480

02-Jul-06
Wet and a bit slippery, but that's the joy of driving a landy. Intrigued by nearby church and chess set, but did not investigate further. Next time perhaps. TNLN TFTC.

An easy find despite v poor map work. Like my test pilot friend used to say, 'When it's all going haywire, trust the instruments,' ie GPS in this case. Took blue bunny, left bouncy ball. Cache v wet after yesterday's rain; dried as best I could. TFTC.

25-Jun-06
Took the opportunity whilst doing rock art survey nearby to pay my respects. There shoul be more of this type of cache. Thanks, Longfella.

Great spot after a day's work. Took hippy chick's bracelets for treedetectives and left IFRAO rock art photo scale. TFTC. I signed the last page of the log - new one needed.

21-Jun-06
Great. I heard about Red Dog on my first survey trip to Newman in 1980. Of Course, Red Dog was no longer with us, but his spirit lives on. I had a great opportunity to do homage on another work trip with like-minded colleagues. Go Red Dog.

11-Jun-06
Last find of the day and very glad I decided to go for this one. Never knew Burra was so interesting. How does it go with Kapunda also claiming to be the oldest mining town in Aus? TNLN. TFTC

Great spot, terrific views, but the coldest day I've experienced for many months, years possibly.. Left showercap from Seasons Hotel in Newman, took Four seasons and promptly lost them in the car park! TFTC

This is what makes caching what it is. A great location and a very well thought out hide. Thanks for this one. One of the best yet. Took camera bag, left sketch done on the spot.

An easy find. Thanks. Need to take care parking here and make sure your vehicle is highly visible. TNLN

10-Jun-06
Easy start to the day, but don't take granny if you opt for the vertical route. There is an easier way Smile

Great walk. Some fantastic fungi on the track and growing high in the trees. Also a scarred tree on the way out. TNLN; TFTC.

02-Jun-06
First cache outside SA. What a location! TFTC TNLN.

21-May-06
Last of 4 2day. What happens when the leaves blow away? TNLN. TFTC.

Second find of the day, in between wineries and food. Took nothing, left coffee-coloured pencil. TFTC

Very pleasant location and an easy walk. But I didnt get the Ys clue. Watch out for man-eating spider nearby Smile

Nice one. No wildlife to speak of - wrong time of day, but vets and vet students would be interested in the fused kangaroo spine. Some just have no luck at all. Found a pair of sunnies that I suspect may belong to a cacher. Contact me and Ill get them back 2 U.

08-May-06
V satisfying. One to do at midnight on All Hallows perhaps? Took makeup, left yoyo.

06-May-06
On a grey and blustery day as the Saints were burying the Doggies. Never knew this place was here. Easy find in interesting woodwork. Took Mets patch, left Marge. Signed last space on scroll. TFTC

04-May-06
After a fairly tumultuous 24 hours and a trip through a town that brought back a very precious moment, I found this beaut spot. A grey day, but still a great place to be. Passed some interesting dry stone walls, too. Can recommend this if you don't like crowds. TNLNSL TFTC

30-Apr-06
As promised I returned and signed log. Tempted by Tag Heuer watch, but instead took frog and left bouncy ball. TFTC and the intro to this entirely innocent activity.

Found this after a great lunch at Miranda and a mind-refreshing tour of the Steingarten route. Great location. Took pencil, left yoyo. TFTC

27-Apr-06
This wasn't too difficult, but watch out for the triffids. TNLNSL

Yeees!!! Third attempt at this cunningly disguised cache. Must have circled it many times on previous visits, but just didn't take enough time to look carefully. Thanks TNLNSL

26-Apr-06
At last. Best clue is the landslip logged by JackHenry. Where are the blackberries and the arrow? Initially TNLN then saw MFS patch so took that and left coin. Thanks.

24-Apr-06
TNLN. Nice little cache and first one I have found with the mighty useful explanatory note. Will use one in my first cache.

Felt I was way off track despite close UTM plot. Why is there no decent 1:25000 map available in SA? Clues no use whatsoever. Will return.

19-Apr-06
Found in the delightful company of Tree detectives. Job very useful here. Left yoyo took nothing.

Missed this one twice today. 1 My GPS packed it in after 10 years. 2 I did dlat dlong calcs, but that didn't help either. Very wet, but a lot of fun and frustration. Saw the yachts; you have to admire them.

18-Apr-06
Found this evening with my friend and her children. It was my second and their first and I think they're hooked.

26-Mar-06
Found this by accident before I knew about geocaching. Decided to leave well alone, but will return now and have another look. My first cache! Smile
