Logs for azeo_nz

Arrived via white lines east Hayward Track -short bush bash to Mcstay track, then old farm track, up griffins ridge track a wee bit, then sharp left to climb to junction where a short look around found the type of trunk to look for, and canopy for confirmation. A nice hide, tftc! Returning via catchment track for a super evenings walk in glorious weather.

Nice hide, needed a drive out somewhere and a blustery beach walk so the coast was the perfect spot. Didn't think of cache searching until I got here! Left as found, tftc

Nice way to add variety evenings walk, still a bit surprising to me as a newbie how water manages to find it's way past several layers and or containers (but not I guess!), but great to see how waterproof logs take care of that, tftc
LoL, nearly gave up on this one but decided to retrace steps while taking a much closer look at the track map and terrain topology and keeping previous find in mind. Phew! Log is getting a bit frail might be worth a maintenance check possibly, but not too damp considering location I guess, tftc, enjoyed the challenge, but glad to have another find as a newbie
Nice to return to the Tyndall Stream track, be prepared for a small scramble if this is a new track for you! Great to have another purpose when rambling around familiar and not so familiar tracks and places, tftc

Found on the 26th, logged a few days later. After finding cubbies rest a few days before, it was a natural upgrade to head to Scouts Rest. Nice Hide, tftc.

Found it on a lovely Friday evening walk, a nice spot to sit in sun and do log to boot. Cache newbie and this pastime adds an extra dimension and challenge to an already pleasant activity! Tftc
Found after a long search just as I was about to give up but had a final scan, and it was closer than I thought it might be given previous reports. Originally found several months ago where it might be expected, but didn't have a pen, so planned a later return on a nice evening such as tonight, and an easy re-find (lol!) to log.
Have returned the cache to where I'm pretty sure is the original location, and made the "nest" a bit more secure with a small excavation to help avoid slippage. Great there was a new log as any previous ones were soggy lumps, tftc!

Found, yes definitely a tricky one, but keeping the hint in mind helps, Tftc

Decided it was time to find a cache after being signed up for a while, so this was the first one for me, yay! One of my favourite local tracks/routes too so a nice surprise to discover it's been under my nose all these years. Logbook a bit damp but writable. As noted by others, the location is at the original end of track, not the more recent half-way mark.
For the adventurous, the end of track is not necessarily the end as there is a steep route up the spur to the Whakanui track with the choice of continuing with the Whakanui or returning to Sunny Grove or Garden of Remembrance.
