Logs for cer

28-Jan-09
Ended up climbing the bridge instead of just strolling along. But before that Aleene and I made a run from bridgeclimb checkin to search for this cache.

Not much foot traffic to contend with and the container was quickly found.

Third time in the area since arriving in Sydney, but the first with the GPSr. Noticed this one. After much casting about (the GPSr was able to see only 6 sats) we finally found this one.

Decided to walk from the bridge back to our hotel. This cache was just a block off our path. The GPSr was pointing to some very strange locations and we finally peeked at the hint. Another 10 minutes and we had the cache.

The TDU finished up today, just over there a bit.

Of course with a cache so near to where we were waiting for the race to begin we had to search. Quick find and no worry about muggles since they were all gathered elsewhere.

The TDU sprint point was just down the street and our tour bus parked nearby. Tried for the cache and had to give up since someone was eating lunch practically on top of the cache. Had lunch myself and returned to find I had the place to myself. Made a quick find and was able to still see the sprint.

20-Jan-09
After a day of following the TDU stopped for this one on the way back to the hotel.

Not much traffic so Aleene and I were able to search without interruption. Needed to fashion a tool in order to extract the container.

Aleene and I had just arrived in Adelaide the day before and early Sunday the Stanley's stopped by to drive us to the event (They were one of two to offer a lift to the event, Thanks, to Flipper&Co for the other offer).
After stopping for a cache and a visit to a stage of a multi they were working on we made the event.

Thanks to the stanley's for hosting us for the day. Besides the ride they brought enough chairs to include us. Plus extra food so we didn't go hungry. Not that we would in any case since may others offered food and drink. And then there was the caching down and back. Ten caches for the day when we would had been happy with 1.

Allchin and gang for putting this together. There was enough shelter for all. Mrs. Allchin had brought some magazines on SA and a book about Port Elliot for us (haven't checked out the magazines yet, but the book on Port Elliot is interesting) and helped us with a local multi-cache.

Many stories were exchanged, Aleene and I grabbed some of the local caches, and had a very good time.

Thanks, everyone, for the welcome we received and Allchin for putting on the event.

4 for 4 as we took a break from the nearby event for some caching on our own. Aleene sat this one out why I scrambled around looking. Eventually found it and we headed back to the event, we didn't want to miss our ride back to Adelaide

Heading to an event in Port Elliot, being driven there by the stanley's.
Suddenly they pulled over, pointed across the road and said there was a cache somewhere over there. My GPSr was still having problems locking onto any sats after its long flight but I was able to find the cache without it.

Joined the stanleys at stage 2. Although, having messed up at least one count don't know how much help I was there.

When we finally reached the final stage I was able to make the find. A good thing because, unlike the stanleys, Aleene and I were not going to get a second try.

I'm going to argee with Blinqq about the coords being off. I was wishing there was a orienteering control marking the spot. Nothing like a large white/orange flag to mark the spot.

Thankfully I was with the stanleys since it was Mrs S that finally made the find.

Wondering around Port Elliot. This was number 3 of 4 (not counting the event). We had just found the cache and noticed someone approaching. Turned out to be Zytheran. We were feeling kindly and let him sign the log without needing to search himself.

We must have found the hardest way to approach this cache. Not feeling up to the terrain we had left ourselves to cover we watched as braver souls, the stanleys, made the find.

Mrs. Allchin gave us a hand on this one. Made for a very, very fast find.

Aleene had lost her hat at the final, we know that only because after noticing it missing we retracted our steps and ended up at the final and the hat once again.

Aleene and I had to find a few caches by ourselves today. This was the first of four in the area. Before heading out we were told that the view of the harbor was great and they were not kidding.
Oh, the cache, yes we found it and signed the log.

Had just found Norfolk with the stanleys. They had tried to one before and wanted to give it another go. They were successful this time and we were along for the ride. While I did search a bit, I had misinterpreted a note and was looking in the wrong places.

After a day of wondering about the city, and giving up way to quickly on the few caches we searched for (so quickly I cannot file a DNF on any) we decided to try for one near our hotel. Yea! We found it.

11-Jan-09
Possible 2 adults.
Aleene and I arrive in Adelaide Saturday afternoon from San Francisco. If we can drag ourselves to the bus terminal in time Sunday morning we will be there.

UPDATE: Thanks to the friendly geocachers down under we now have a ride to the event. No long bus ride for us. Thanks to all that offered up a ride.

That's some wall. The next day we met up with some friends that spent the night at the Inn in Gorda (They were cycling from San Jose to Paso Robles) and they did't even notice it!

Another quick find on our (Aleene and I) travels down 1 heading for Paso Robles.

08-May-06
An enjoyable evening of pizza and meeting some new cachers.

Two TB tags transfered to another player and never grabbed from my list.

Did not ditch the bike. Then again, didn't ride it to the cache either.

Today's tour of the Coyote Creek parkway had me ride, walking, hauling and just plain leaving my bike in some pretty strange places all day.

Don't know why but, TNLNSL

Note to bullit: The wind is always in your face no matter the end of the parkway one starts from.

And today it was a strong wind.

Din't have to walk the bike, go off-road or deal with mud. Nice break.

Took the GeoWomyn_SF_CA postoid and left a smashed penny.

The wood fence that this cache was placed near/against was rebuilt sometime between Sunday and today.

I know Jack was there Sunday, I just got back from an attempt to drop a TB there and it is gone!
