This Geodesic marker is not actually in Quebec but has a very strong Historical French Connection and I figured you woud like to hear about it.

The brilliant French Commander D'Iberville marched overland in 1696 from Placentia and captured Ferryland in a surprise attack. Everyone anticipated he would come by sea....the harsh land route was never considered a viable option by any observers of the day.

From this marker atop Cape Broyle Head on the beautiful East Coast Trail you can see the Colony of Avalon Historic Site and Ferryland Lighthouse(which is haunted) and gaze upon "The Downs" where D'Iberville played out his battle.

Thanks for a fun and unique cache!!!

Found this while solo cycling around the Extreme Compass Points of the Island of Newfoundland.

Amazing trip Smile

This monument/sign to Capatin Cook can be seen near Marble Mountain just as you are about to come into Corner Brook.

Cook sailed and mapped this area on one of his many voyages of Discovery.

This a viewing point for "Fergus Island" or the "Big Island" in historic and scenic Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, Canada.

The entire stone and grass covered island looks like a sleeping Newfoundland Dog that is laying down with his head between his massive paws.

This may take a little imagination to see, but it is a very well known simulacra around Bay Roberts. Hiking the central hill on the island is even referred to by some as "climbing the dogs back".

Thanks for a very fun cache!

Beautiful stone bridge made from multi-coloured beach rocks that resemble bubble gum drops at times.

Located in scenic Bowring Park, St. John's, NL. Canada, the bridge dates back to circa the 1920's.

Found this historic lighthouse in Hearts Content, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, Canada.

This beautiful town was the site of the landing of the "First Transatlantic Telegraph Communications Cable" on July 27, 1866. The original Cable Station is now an interesting and important museum in the story of modern telegraphy.

You can easily drive out to the point at the mouth of the harbour to examine this well maintained lighthouse and get some excellent pictures of the beautiful surrounding areas.

Thanks for a fun cache idea !
