This year's summer vacation brought us (Dd03, -whatever- and me) to Oregon and Washington [^]. So the primary targets were obviously
* Y2K-caches
* the APE Cache
* and of course ***the HQ*** [^]!
What a great hike! The old ghost town of Monte Cristo was today's destination [^]!
It was a long way to get there, it wasn't too easy, but the walk and the views are fantastic [^][^][^][^]!
We found 11 of the 12 caches that we wanted to find today, but the greatest gift was nature and the fact that also my daughter made it there surprised me and made me proud of her . For my son and me it was fun to cross the river .
Finally we arrived at Monte Cristo! I needed some time to find the cache, so I was very lucky when I made it [^]! It was an honor to log this piece of geocaching history, thanks for keeping it in a nice condition!
Thanks for this great hike and cache!

Stupid me!
Just send China caches to my GPS but forgot HK!!!
So this is only a note to increase the mileage of my personal geocoin. Hope to visit this cache on my next stay here...

These earth homes can be found in Rochecorbon, near Tours, France. It was difficult to get closer, so I hope my zoom pictures and web URLs are o.k.!

A hotel is located as well within this region: http://www.leshautesroches.com/
p.s.: the french name for this is: "Maison troglodytique"

This dolphin is placed in St. Piere, Ile d'Oleron, France.
It's an eyecatcher for the local aqua technology service (swimming pools and stuff).

This light house was put in service in december 1970. Its height is 26,20 meters and its form is a octogonale.
The light shines 1,2 seconds from a halogene lamp with 180 W. It can be seen within 14 miles (approx. 26 km).
It works automatically and cannot be visted!
