Logs for mic2005

26-Oct-07
Just dropped in to drop off TAZEAN LIZ the lizard. It is now time for her to continue her travels.

14-Sep-07
Geokid went past and checked on Tazean (Lizzy) and noticed she wasn't happy and rather lonely. So Geokid let Lizzy loose to find a new home. I wonder where she will end up?

22-Jul-07
Just dropped in to put "Lizzy" on her way. Cache is still in good condition and hasn't "washed away"

21-Jul-07
Found a pink Rag, a pink wool thread tied around a tree, lots of rubbish BUT NO CACHE. Went low to the north so that we nearly fell off the cliff BUT NO CACHE. Might go back after it has been checked on.
Definitely not one for the small geokids!!

04-Jul-07
Difficult to find as GPS Unit was drifting around something terrible. Gale force winds were brewing during our visit but it didn't stop us from spotting 3 albatross heading north.
Also heard penguin/s, could not see them but I know their calls. Nice spot for a cache.
Took lizard and left doggy chew.

21-Oct-06
Just dropped in to set travel postcard on its way.
Another cold & windy morning. Cache has been moved slightly but is now easier to find but still well hidden....

08-Oct-06
Nice walk, loved the carvings
Southerly came up before we arrived and the cache was very cold. Might do more in the area next time

Mountain goat allright
no way was I going to try to get the car up the last bit of track, too steep & too gravely.
The view was superb as it gave us a total view of the Bay.

07-Oct-06
Went to Mogo Zoo for the weekend to see the White Lion Cubs, geokid kept asking "can we have one". Loved the monkeys, so different from the usual chimps you see at most zoos.

Stopped in for this cache with the prospect of a view of Batemans Bay and were not dissapointed.

Took Geocoin postcard, will deposit it in Kiama after it has seen the sights!!

After visiting Mogo Zoo and "Approach with Caution" we went on a sight seeing tour of Batemans Bay. Havn't been to the Bay for many many years, how things change!
Not being a fan of the HOFF, the view was definately better than the photos.

02-Sep-06
thought we would look for this one on our way to Sydney & drop off Aussie Geo Coin on the way.
The place had lots of rubbish around it so made sure cache was well hidden as to not attract any unwanted attention.

The Geocoin went to the snow last weekend but missed the drop at Lake George so it has come here.

28-Aug-06
Thought I would see if I could find this without the GPS as I have walked the area B4.
With clues like this one who need the GPS!!!
It was lunch time so no one in the area.
I always love the view from here but unfortuneatly I spotted no whales today.

Nice spot for a cache

17-Aug-06
Had a hunt for this one while we were waiting for dinner to cook on our way to the snow.
Found it very easily after reading the clue

27-Jul-06
Saw this one come up so close to home it wasn't funny.
went hunting for it on the 23rd but ran into trouble with the first waypoint. As this is the first multi we looked for I didn't know what to look for. Came home had a check, went back and saw K9? looking for it. Came home to check again, went back, found it and saw Black & White in the long grass looking very lost. We now ran out of time so returned today and had no problems. Did see red-bellied black snake, thought it was too cold for them this time of year.
Will feep an eye out from home for other cachers.
Took coin left glue

10-Jul-06
Second find for the day, first was "Stuck on you" in the Royal National Park. Corrections to GPS make things much easier!
Still only new to this and had a chuckle when geokids went off on wrong track with GPS and no knowledge of how to use it. Worked out correct way to go (as time was limited) and after a short walk cought up with kids who were looking for cache. Did water depth test in some holes and could not reach bottom with 2 metre stick!! Great place for a quick swim in SUMMER, toooo cold today.
Found cache without much trouble. Took knife and gel pens left radio(tight fit) and 3 cards. Watch out for sharp rocks when retrieving this cache, I skinned my knuckles.
Saw bush walliby, many birds on way back.
Curious to see many fallen trees from big blow about 2 years ago totally uprooted but still growing

8.00am Found it ease enough.
Took my parent muggles along for the ride and they enjoyed it. It was verrrry cold and had trouble writing in log. lovely spot for a marriage proposal

01-Jul-06
Finally found after 3 visits as I have older GPS, GPS showed 200 metres to go at edge of cliff!!
Have been walking the area for years and never ventured "up the stairs"
Will return with camera for great shots.

Does anyone know of benchmark in the area?
