Logs for TeamJansen

Well...now I understand the terrain rating. Thanks for taking me to this cache site. I learend a lot in the process of discovering this cache. Cheers, TeamJansen

Didn't find again even with additional hints from cache owner. I was looking under benches inside the train station and then though maybe someone is watching me on a camera and thinks I'm up to something devious. So I gave up. I know it's there...I'm just not in the right spot. Better luck next visit to Sydney.

Found it the 2nd time after additional hint from the cache owner. I was in this area a week ago, but didn't think to look at this spot. TNLNSL TFTC and additional hint. TeamJansen

Even after an additional hint from the cache owner, I still didn't find it. And it certainly wasn't a lack of looking...I must have been all over this cache for about 45 minutes. Oh well, another micro missed! I got some good pictures of the fountain and cathedral. TeamJansen USA

Found on 2nd try after additional hint from cache owner. I was very close a week ago, but didn't think to look here. TNLNSL. TFTC. Team Jansen (USA)

I was all over GZ a week before. An additional hint from the cache owner, but even better hint from Kiwilegend sent me right to the cache. Thanks for hints guys! TNLNSL TFTC! TeamJansen (USA)

Reading the logs now, I see maybe I shouldn't have been looking in a tree, but GZ kept me coming back to the same tree. I reached up in the tree and almost touched a possum. I looked in this area for about 45 minutes to an hour and then gave up. Clue didn't help me either. It was a Saturday night and there were lots of young folks having a good time. I did get a nice reflection picture of the memorial so it wasn't all a loss! Team Jansen (USA)

Finally! Not a micro cache. Something I could actually find without help! Wish I had a TB still, but I had dropped off all 4 I brought from the States. One I picked up in Australia I wanted to take for a trip to USA. TFTC! Got a nice pic of the church. TeamJansen (USA)

We walked along the fence from the south to the north, got within about 350 feet...see that it's probably up the hill, but we didn't see anyway to get on the other side of the fence.

My first STF...2nd to find! Just missed my first FTF! I went here right as it was getting dark. A little concerned about snakes I might not see. Did see a small kangaroo on the way to the cache and lots of evidence that kangaroos are all around. Unfortunately I didn't stop to take a picture since I was in a hurry to find the cache and get out of there before I couldn't see anything. Almost gave up, but found it. Nice hide! Took a Canadian coin and dropped off Cousing Its Little Cousin TB.

Really looking forward to this cache. Two TBs there to pick up and I had two TBs from the States to drop off. Bus dropped us off only 0.5K from cache...perfect! Unfortunately when we got within 400 feet of GZ, about 20 aboriginals started yelling at us from the Todd River and wanted $10 for us to walk on their land. Needless to say, we turned around and walked quickly the other way. Was bummed about not finding this one, but safety won out. Team Jansen (USA)

Funny! We had to wait at this spot to catch a bus anyway. Found with no problem, but the coordinates were off a litle for us. Clue helped. Took the Sharky TB and dropped off our personal USA Today - Go Green! TB. TFTC

We were here and talked to one of the staff members. Appears the cache has been muggled. No joy for us! Maybe next visit to Alice Springs. TeamJansen (USA)

This cache was perfect since we were heading to this spot anyway after caching. This helped us find our way. We took an Alice Springs key chain and patch and left a US 1$ and an AUS 20cent coin. TFTC! Team Jansen (USA)

After my 19 hours of flying time, I arrived in Sydney ready for 11 hours of walking probably 15+ miles. Fortunately, this was my first find real close to my hotel. Unfortunately, it was only 6 of 13 for the day. This one was relatively easy to reach, but hard to avoid muggles on a Sunday morning. TNLNSL. TFTC

Last find for the day. Unfortunately went 6 of 13, but happy to find this one and drop off my own TB from the States...USA Today - Go Red! Took Australian $50 keychain. TFTC!

Well I walked and walked and walked and when I got as far as I could go before walking in water, I was still a 1/2 mile away. Think I might have been on the wrong side of the water. Will try again on April 1st.

After reading the logs back in the States, I thought this one would definitely be easy...but I didn't find it. I thought I was at GZ with the GPSr...but no luck. It was very hard to be discreet and not look like a freak with all the people around on a Sunday afternoon. Even came back later in the night and wasn't able to find it. I might try again on April 1st.

Looked around in the dark, but didn't find it. GPSr wasn't working too well down here.

Found the cache pretty easily once I read the clue. Before that I was searching in a field which I don't recommend. Lots of used needles in the field, a sign of some drug activity maybe. TFTC. Left a USA Geocoin.

Tried to find this in the dark and had no luck. Nor sure I understood the hint. If I have time on the 1st I will try this one again. I want to back and take a picture of the fountain anyway. Thanks

After 19 hours of flying from America, I decided I needed to walk for 11 hours geocaching. Unfortunately, I only found 6 of 13 caches today. And this one stumped me. Now that I'm logging the DNF, I see I never looked at the hint. The GPSr sure wasn't helping me any. So I looked everywhere I could think. If I get a chance to go back, I'll try the hint.

Well I had just found Coat Hanger and thought maybe I'll walk over the bridge and see what geocaches I can find there. Well I decided on this one since it wasn't far from the bridge on the South side. Ha! What a walk to this one. Needless to say it was a lot further than I thought. I ended up spending 3 hours on this side of the water and only finding this one cache. Cache log was very wet. TNLNSL. TFTC

This cache seemed to easy going through all the waypoints. Found them no problem. But after an hour of searching, I didn't find the actual cache. I was 6 of 13 for the day, but this one was the most depressing after finding the other stages. Maybe I'll try again on the 1st.

Actually took a picture of the cache site before I realized that was what I was looking for. Cache easist of the day to find...yeah! Unfortunately, I was only 6 of 13.

Found the first stage no problem, but don't think I found the right two digits to find the final cache. Tried two combinations, but didn't find GZ. Thanks

Well I was only 6 of 13 today and that counted this one...a virtual! I won't be able to upload the picture until I get home in a week. I took a picture of James Michener's plaque without me and the GPSr in the picture...it was pretty crowded on Sunday afternoon and my GPSr would have been stomped on or kicked in the water. Anyway, I have never read any Michener books, but sadly he was the only one I have heard of. (Can you tell I don't read much?) I'll nominate Centennial because I think my Dad owned it and they made a TV series based on it...that means it has to be good, right?
