First day of three weeks in Asia. Decided to go for this one on a 2.5 hour layover. Our flight was delayed but I decided to go for it anyhow much to the distress of my wife who sensibly remained at the airport.
My research paid off and I got through Immigration to to the cache in less than 20 minutes. Easy find (both caches) and back to the airport praying for short check-in lines. The geocaching gods complied and I was reunited with Vicki in under an hour total from wheels down.
Great location but you can't help but feel exposed but just decided to get in and get out quickly.
Thanks for a fun layover.

Fun last find of the night. Hope to get the rest of the series tomorrow.
Found this one but will just write a note here and will change to a found log when I return home and can upload the photo. Thanks for the cache.

Another GeoWomyn masterpiece. We got really lucky on our parking and make the quick trek to the final. Thanks.

What a surprisingly cool area this was. Enjoyed the walk and after the GPS calmed down, the find was quick.
I don't know how we missed the first stage so many times, but eventually Lee made the grab.
Lee's GPSr was pointing in the wrong direction, but I just followed the arrow to the cache.

Did this one after dark. As we approached there was a huge snake on the sidewalk and as I hit him with the flashlight beam he scooted out of our way.
CoordinatesFrom: TeamAlamo, Gary & Vicky
I've had these coordinates for over a year and finally made it here to grab it! A tough find.

Retiredprof and 2Dee2Dee helped me with the first part of this one and I helped them with this one! Didn't quite nail this one using authorized methods.
If there's anything I learned in 20 years in the computer game business, it's how to use a decompiler. Hit the area with retiredprof and 2Dee2Dee who had already found this one... so that helped a bit!

Target # 42 - Did he do it?!
I had this sign printed up just in case we came across a cemetery and today, while searching for another cache, we found ourselves in the right spot.
If the cache location fits, you must log it!

This is probably the world's largest collection of Liberty Bell replicas! It's actually a huge set of Liberty Bell wind chimes at a shopping center in the San Fernando Valley. The nearby plaque says that they are exact reproductions in size, lettering and all cracks and chips as the original.

The Spa Valley Railway in the previous post led me to the PARIS Salon and SPA in San Rafael, California (N37 58.380 W 122 31.582).
While relaxing at the PARIS Spa I was reminded of my love for the pastry we used to enjoy when we lived in FRANCE and I walked over to the La Fayette FRENCH Pastry Shop (N37 58.328 W122 31.925) just a few blocks away.
The French pastries got me thinking of FRENCH fries which led to a craving for McDonald's FRENCH fries and the many HAPPY Meals my kids used to eat. Last stop, HAPPY Nails (N37 58.370 W122 31.447) for a manicure!
Now I'm relaxed, my hunger cured and my nails trimmed -- time to log a locationless cache!

The Santa Rose Rural Cemetary is the final resting place of about 150 Civil War veterans including fifteen Confederates. The only one mentioned on the sef-guided tour map was John G. Pressley who had already been logged here, so I decided to wander around and see if I could find the distinctive "pointed" headstones. After about fifteen minutes I came across two, father and son, right next to each other.
For this one, I am claiming the father, Captain Robert P. Smith Sr. of Company F of the 27th South Carolina Infantry. He was born January 6, 1814 and died May 29, 1887.
I'll do a bit of research to see if I can learn anything more about him and post it here!

I've been wanting to do this one for a long time but didn't know how to start the search and then I found findagrave.com. Looked at "famous" burials in the San Francisco National Cemetary and found several Civil War Generals interred there.
This is the grave of Charles Robinson Thompson. I couldn't find much more data other than that on findagrave.com:
Birth: Feb. 24, 1840
Death: Oct. 3, 1894
Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General
San Francisco National Cemetery
San Francisco
San Francisco County
California, USA
Plot: OFF 4, 5

Here's a lousy picture from my camera phone! The best Disney story of this trip is that while preparing for the trip I found some 13-year old MK tickets. I brought them to guest relations and was able to trade them for $711 worth of Park Hopper tickets. Don't throw away your old tickets!!!

I totally lucked upon this one on a Sunday afternoon stroll around campus.
This is Trading Post 11 of the NYSE. It is currently located in the 'Exchange Room' just off the Espresso Cafe Roma at the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.
The nearby sign explains...
"Post 11 is one of 17 horseshoe post installed between 1929 and 1932. Each post has an outside perimeter of 26 1/2 feet, occupies almost 100 square feet of space, and stands 7 feet high. The posts are solidly crafted with brass frames, oak counters, and leather-covered seats and counter-tops. The smooth lines of the brass, with slightly flairing footrails, hint at Art Deco fashion, while the pigeon-holed interior oak cabinets harken back to the turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts style."
Famous stocks assigned to this post included Coca Cola and IBM.
