Logs for gerry hattrick

30-Oct-13
The cache is hidden only if you are coming from the nearest walking path. Maybe CO could have a look. I hid it a little more but not much.
This is a lovely spot but driving past on Canterbury Road I never guessed the extent of the reserve. TFTC

17-Sep-13
As the description says, not top hard to find, but finding it and staying dry proved to be more of a challenge. I came in over the grass and kept my feet dry by sticking to the mown bits. GZ was more of a challenge but soon had log in hand and signed. TFTC

15-Sep-13
The cache eluded me for a minute or three but eventually it was in hand and signed. TFTC

My GPSr led me astray (that's what they all say) and it was only when I tuned around that I noticed the cache glinting in the sun. (Okay it was only when I turned around for the 23rd time, but I swear the glinting part is legit.) TFTC

I came here a couple of months ago but the battery on the GPSr was low and I had to go. Then it was cold wet and muddy. Today is warm(er) dry and the wildflowers are out. Great spot and clever hide. TFTC

12-Sep-13
A lovely walk in the suburbs. A beautifully clear and sunny afternoon. Much too nice to be shut up inside. TFTC

10-Sep-13
It was great to meet Happy Chappies but I only picked him as one of the locals with a strange errand that took him past me multiple times until he introduced himself.
We searched all over and HC eventually found the cache in a most ingenious place. Signed and replaced the log.
Thanks for the cache K_Wolf.

17-Aug-13
I've shopped at the Glen for years (alright, decades) and never knew you could get to that spot. A wonderful place for a cache but today it was a bit windy and only with great care was the log not lost in Glen Waverley. A favourite from me. TFTC

15-Aug-13
Very muggle prone. Well camouflaged so took a bit to find. TFTC

12-Aug-13
Gave up trying to guess the location from the name and all the double negatives in the clues. As others have done trusted the GPSr. TFTC

02-Aug-13
Very unexpected spot. Raining unfortunately so not at its best. TFTC

01-Aug-13
The cache is not an easy find but it is there. I have had this one on my To Do list for some months and was finally in the area to cross it off. TFTC

31-Jul-13
Nicely hidden. Had to look twice to find cache. TFTC

11-Jul-13
This was one of those caches that, once you find it, you wonder why it took you so long. TFTC

This was one of those caches that, once you find it, you wonder why it took you so long. TFTC

10-Jul-13
Wonderful camouflage! Would have found it sooner but my GPSr took me through the scrub and wouldn't settle on a spot. Eventually let my imagination take over and tried a few other spots and eventually found it. TFTC but no fav for me, at least 'til the scratches heal.

09-Jul-13
Well ... it's a cache (as the description says). A fairly easy find except that the phone/GPSr rang as I was getting close and everything was on hold while the salesperson gave their spiel. TFTC

05-Jul-13
A lovely peaceful spot ... and so close to major road. Unfortunately I can see the damage to the bush surrounding the cache and I can wish there was some way to use the spot without leaving a trace. Still that's my hang-up. TFTC and thanks to Mrs and Mr Hooke for leaving the reserve to the public.

03-Jun-13
Yes, a most unexpected spot. And a most unexpected camouflage for the cache. A favourite for me. TFTC

02-Jun-13
Yes, the cache title is very appropriate. TFTC

Quite a bit of looking in the wrong place but did find it. TFTC

Nice bit of sculpted garden setting in the office park. The engineer in me asks though where all this flowing water comes from and goes to - is there a big pump involved? TFTC

Great little spot but a bit wet. For a wetlands it is remarkably open. Maybe with another decade or so of growth some of the young eucalypts will fill in some of the space. TFTC

01-Jun-13
Only found the "congratulations you found it" sheet which has become the log with an ad-hoc log on the back. Some recent finds are not on this log. Could there be two? In any case the cache needs work or to be archived.

29-May-13
Despite all the cars zooming along the cache is in a nice secluded spot. Tank47 has obviously put some thought and care into hiding the cache. Thanks

A grey old day and lots of noise. A place more industrial than bush. Still a fairly easy find. TFTC

28-May-13
Log is full.

A very busy cache so close to Springvale Rd. An easy find but difficult to extract the cache without being noticeable. TFTC

27-May-13
After the ducks and other water fowl gave up looking at me for a feed I was able to enjoy this pleasant little spot. A quiet look round and the cache is found. TFTC

24-May-13
Eventually found the cache. It seems gravity has taken a hand and I could not extract the cache without breaking the surrounds a little. So first clue to searchers is to look for signs of disturbance. Second clue is to stay on the paths to the cache and not head cross-country like I did and get wet feet. Still a nice wild spot if you ignore the traffic noise. TFTC

22-May-13
It was a cold but dry day and a bit noisy with the start of the evening peak zooming past on Eastlink. But an easy find. Saw none of the TBs supposed to be in the cache. TFTC

15-May-13
Following the new hints I was having a poke around and the cache fell on me. Signed the log and carefully put it back. Good to have finally crossed this one off. TFTC

01-May-13
Nice peaceful little spot. So what if the houses all look alike (there are subtle differences). Left TB. TFTC

23-Apr-13
I've driven past here many times but this is the first time I have pulled in. Very impressive but very deserted during the day mid-week. Good clues and straight forward find. Pity the blackberry eradication hasn't been more thorough. TFTC

22-Apr-13
Love the ducks wandering around. Brought TB "Peace for the World" for a visit. Did need a little help to locate cache. TFTC

I parked by the bowls club and has a lovely walk along the bush paths to GZ. But, as is often the case, it started to rain as I returned. TFTC

Too easy! I just came from another team_coxy cache where it was hidden the same way.

21-Apr-13
I thought I knew this park until I had to find all the clues. TFTC

19-Apr-13
The cache is in a great spot the I would never have found otherwise. Thanks. The note in the first waypoint has delaminated but is still easily readable.

16-Apr-13
Walked past twice before seeing cache. This seems to be one of the most genuine bush spots within Melbourne. Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC

If people had looked out of their car they would have seen an idiot trying to walk on water. But I did find it. TFTC

15-Apr-13
Couldn't read license number of water meter as too much condensation and light poor. Found log anyway as my minuscule knowledge of plants overlapped with the hint. TFTC

14-Apr-13
Very nice. It did bug me. I tried first time in the middle of lunchtime on a weekday and couldn't get away from the office muggles. Now it's a wet Sunday and no one around. TFTC

11-Apr-13
Dropped off TB "Rudolph the Reindeer". Nice spot but quite busy. TFTC

10-Apr-13
Lovely little spot. Must be great for the Scouts to work outside. Quite a few muggles but the card players were out of sight round the corner so retrieved the cache. SL TFTC

Cache has water in it. Log is wet and needs a good pen to write in it.

Nice spot if a little inaccessible. Cache has water in the bottom. Drained cache but log is wet. Managed to sign log thanks to miracle pen. Will request maintenance. TFTC

09-Apr-13
Lovely little spot - very green but also a bit wet underfoot with runoff from up the hill. TFTC TNLN SL

05-Apr-13
Had a little sit. Looked at what the GPS was saying. Had a little think. Had a little look. And bingo. TFTC

Found it without too much difficulty but like one of the previous loggers I had some GPS inaccuracy. I put the GPS next to the cache and the GPS said the cache was 8 metres Away. Great spot. TFTC
