Logs for hutchtables

12-Oct-17
I've archived this cache as the container appears to have gone missing. Additionally, the access in and out of the location where the cache was originally hidden is now very difficult and potentially dangerous.

Hi Cachers. I have had to move from Newcastle for work and am unable to maintain this cache anymore. I would rather not have to remove the cache because it is such a fantastic spot so I'm looking for someone to take it over if possible. Please contact me if you can help.

Cheers

@ cccritter7 - Sorry but no not accessible by bike.

Sorry TeamSenz but I don't think you found it. If you read the Note in the cache description it says how there is a muggle who uses the same place who has a log book in a ziplock bag. The cahce is well hidden and many others have also been right on top of it but not discovered it and then reported the cache as gone. I was only there a few days ago and the cache was there. Maybe you want to go back and have another look.

Went and dried the cache out today. Thanks to Grahame Cookies for notifying the maintenance requirement and for putting in a new log book.

Based on the previous log I went and checked the cache today and it is just fine, although it does need restocking. The problem is that some people aren't actually finding the cache. There is a muggle who goes to this area and he has a little notebook in a plastic bag that is in plain sight for people to see. Some cachers are mistaking this for muggles having found the cache. This cache is near the scout camp and there are a couple of entries in the log from muggles who have been at the scout camp but they have not trashed the cache and have returned it to it's hiding place. I am going to update the cache details to mention the other notebook but those of you who went and thought that it had been muggled, best you go back and try and find it again.

On advice from RAMJET136 that the cache may have been muggled the Geoboy, sorry Geoteen now, and I went to check the cache. Whilst the logbook had been removed from the container and put in another part of the hide the container and contents were actually still in their hidey hole, albeit without the container lid. The Geoteen located the lid a short distance away and we subsequently retreived it, cleaned it and put it back on the container after we had put the logbook back inside. Thanks for the email RAMJET136.

Happy Caching everyone

Boy Hutchtable did the cache for his birthday today so he retrieved all the contents. He put in a rain drop, frog, glow sticks, a geocoin and a bug.

A great site and a wonderful part of our Australian history. We had no trouble following the directions and after a small amount of looking found the cache.

T - TB
L - 1952 Penny and small frog

The inhabitants of Grotte Bleue are alive and well. On our arrival and approach with bowed heads the leader did speak to us and commanded us to bathe him and his people. With great reverance and care we complied and then withdrew, leaving a blue pen as an offering.

A great hide. We found the bridge easily enough but after 15 minutes of searching we had to decrypt the hint. Once we did that we were on it in a flash.
The contents were rather wet. We dried everything that could be dried, removed all the cardboard packging and placed everything except the log book in a snap lock bag. We didn't have a spare notebook wth us so the damp one had to stay.
Took the Geocoin
Left a flashing light bracelet

Hutchtable kids took some newbies here on their first cache yesterday. Took nothing, dropped a penny and world youth day travel bug (sorry, had forgotten that we had this bug so it has been stationary or quite some time).

Well sorry to say Nick but you were wrong, the cache is still there so I guess you have another DNF. It sounds from your description as if you were at the right location. The storm seems to have dislodged the cache and it was on the ground not tucked away in it's crevice but is definitely still there. The undergrowth and foliage has increased since it was placed so I am going to amend the terrain rating and add another hint.

We were hoping for an FTF on this and were lucky enough to get it. Unlike others we had great signal and accuracy and personally I thought the clues were spot on. Apart from lots of muggles being around, due to it this being the first nice day in a while, we found it fairly easily.

Took the TB
Left Bikedog Geocoin and 1964 penny

We have been to this area before but because of all the rain the waterfalls were running really well so it was really good. Plus there were no mozzies.

Great cache with excellent treasure.

Easy enough to find. Enjoyed the view and the fossils.
Like all the last cachers to find we were unable to sign the log as it is cactus.

Took a while to find this one. Due to the cliffs the gps kept telling us to go in different directions but wonder geo girl saved us from a no find.
The log book is wet as the container has a hole and the lid won't seal either.
The spot is fantastic and we really enjoyed the bridge and rocks.

Yes Strawberry Muffin we did find it although it eluded us for a while. I wondered why you were laughing when we saw you but once I read the log I figured out it was you guys.

Found this one late afternoon today, was our second for the day. The most fantastic area we have been caching. The geowife loved the area but was very concerned about everyone falling off the edge, especially the geokids.
The actual cache is not easy to find but fortunatly we have geoboy wonder. The cache container could do with replacing as it has a few holes but everything inside was dry. The pen is intermittent so we left a pencil.
Yes Deltora Dragons BikeDog was there and we grabbed it. We left a pin from the Australian Bomb Data Centre and also a little Wallace that came with us from a cache in Newcastle.
Great cache, dog.

Great part of the country to go caching. This was our first find of our holiday. Wasn't to difficult to find but almost got sprung by Muggles getting back onto the track.
Took a coin and left a small squishy.

Well this was our first FTF and it was a fantastic location. The grass trees are magnificent as are the rocks. We came in from the Bangalow picnic area end and left via the Gap Creek end and included a walk to Gap Creek Falls as well.
If you have ever spent much time in the bush the hide is fairly obvious as the covering doesn't quite match the surrounding material. The cache is in good condition but there was lots of leeches in the area.
We took nothing and left a trumpet pin.
Thanks

Thanks Rat for a great day out. The cache itself was easy to find but it is a great area to explore.
Cache is in good condition and no sign of the wasps that a few people had talked about in the log.
Took the floating whistle compass combo and left a 40ch UHF radio wrist watch with charger and instructions. I hope the next gadget freak who goes there enjoys it.

Well it took us two goes but we got it today at 1630 after having done the Bushrangers Cave earlier in the afternoon. We had tried the previous afternoon after having done the Lillypond without success and the tin lids didn't want to let it beat them. Today one found the first part and the other the second so both were very happy. We removed the pen because it had given up the ghost and replaced it with a small (micro) pencil. Also put a stapler in. Maybe someone else would like to put the staples in it.

We are a bit addicted and may have infected some others with the bug as well. We are off again tomorrow for another cache.

Good fun. Saw the dam which was full of water. We found the cache which was a little scary because there were 2 small bats in the cave. We took the rocket balloons and put in a wire puzzle in the shape of an echidna. (There is a way of getting the wire and hoop off the echidna without cutting, or stretching the wire etc).

We didn't find the railway tunnel but we did see another cave that we want to go back and explore sometime so will have another look for it then.

Great cache.

Our very first time at a great fun sport so we chose a cache close to home. We walk near the lilly pond often but it didn't make it any less exciting. The kids loved it and boy hutchable found the cache. Took Wallace and left a frog (no not a real one).

Thanks for a fun first cache.

We are ready for another one tomorrow.
