22-Dec-08
Note to Boomba...
Nobody died on this corner!! It is a memorial to a vision of an angel seen at the Falls in the 1930's If you read the info with the cache listing you would be aware of this. The Maori Iwi that look after the memorial do not have a problem with the cache. The water from the falls are supposed to have healing powers and sprinkling a little of the water on your car will ensure a safe journey. So they say.... We always stop for this ritual.
Hope this gives you a better understanding. The cache should not be in the flowers but north on the falls and south of the geodatum marker.

I'm sorry but we have had 2 caches intentionaly muggled in the last month by a local nutter, so we feel a temp disable for month or so and after she has been back a couple of times will lose interest in it (we hope), and we will enable it..

Tramping in the area and remembered there was a cache here, so with the help of a couple of fellow trampers searched the obvious places and bingo, found it. Cache in good condition although a little damp so put it in a large ziplock bg for added protection.

We paid a visit today after Butterfy lady and Evil C failed to find the cache. Yes it is there and within half a metre of the GPS reading and under a hydrangea bush. Have made it easier by giving a real specific spoiler for those having a problem...

Nice cache... and I think when looking around it might fit one of the clues to Towering over Taumarunui, will check it out later
Took 0 Left a dinasaur
Thanks Sparrowhawk

Well... we had done all the paper work and ended up with three possible locations, but had not done the leg work.
Thought we would seek out the new " Shot over Taumarunui" and lo and behold on looking around there possibly was the answer to one of the clues. Returned home to check out the map and YES this had to be it.. and yes it was. Not sure we would do another like this although it was a challenge. Think we are more of the go, locate and find geocachers.
Took the hanccuffs
Left a pencil sharpener and a dinasaur

Thanks Clive

All sorted... After MiepMiep...Zzzoofff's and EvilC's "no find" we checked and it wasn't where it should have been so we replaced it with a new cache. Then after Zorgon's "double find", we have now removed the new cache and topped up the old cache with new goodies...

In the area for some caving, so popped down to log the cache. Easy find if you ignore the farm "no entry" signs. This is start of the great syphon off of the Whanganui river catchment from the 1960's to the great "electric power God"
Took nothing left a wee fish.
Thanks Clive
