Logs for penguinbob

26-Jul-20
No longer in the area to maintain and it appears to have disappeared.

12-Jun-11
It's about time I archived this cache as the previous log suggests.

07-Nov-10
I think wp 2 is gone. Will check next time I'm in town.

19-Apr-09
Checked on the cache today - everything is still where it should be.

05-Dec-08
It's been a while but I've finally acquired a container that will solve the problems of water. Should be able to get it back out there within a week or two.

10-Jul-08
Checked up on the cache before the invasion. Everything is present and accounted for.

13-Apr-08
Filled it up with TBs and found a new home for the final cache. If you have already done the waypoints, please note the revised instructions.

05-Mar-08
Drying it out again.

01-Mar-08
Dropped by to say hi, do a bug swap and I also signed the moving cache that was there.

Fantastic event cache - perhaps I'll stay longer next year.

26-Feb-08
Have to move this cache to a new spot - it's been a wee bit inaccessable lately. Putting this coin in before I do.

21-Dec-07
Walk along the beach to find this one. The mozzies went nuts on me as soon as I walked into the dunes though. TNLNSL. TFTC!

20-Dec-07
The street listed is not the best one to access the cache from. I accidentally found the other street and found myself much closer to GZ. Took Geocoin. TFTC!

What an interesting location. Found the cache after a little look around. The cicadas were deafening. TNLNSL and Thanks!

11-Dec-07
Back out, good as new.

07-Dec-07
Came by to check on the cache after yesterday's rain and drop off some travel bugs. Cache was completely waterlogged (I think it may have actually been submerged) so I'm going to give it some TLC and get it back out over the weekend sometime.

26-Nov-07
Got back to the country and I've found out that the access from mount kembla to the final cache has been cut off. You can still reach the final but it's a roundabout drive.

I'm taking this offline till I can move it to a new location.

04-Aug-07
Thanks to Odee McPodie for some TLC on the cache!

06-Jul-07
Taking it offline till I can get someone out there to take a look.

15-May-07
My friend who was with me made the find as we came up on the cache. Rehid it so that you couldn't see it as easily. TFTC!

Came by with a friend and called another on the off chance that they'd be at their computer. They were and we got a happy snap. My first webcam cache and my 90th find. Thanks for the Photo!

28-Dec-06
In the middle of a long walk around Bangkok I stopped by on this cache. Ran into Gerboa and Furzymouse and had a wonderful chat about caching and other things.

Took a whole bunch of travel bugs and left Brains the Scientist. Hopefully someone can take him to see some elephants.

12-Dec-06
Nabbed it on the way home from Sydney. Didn't take too long to make the find so I admired the view for a while. TNLN and Thanks

11-Dec-06
After a couple of visits that have been foiled by bad coords, a muggle picnic and lack of time I finally returned and found it. TNLN

Thanks for the hunt!

07-Dec-06
On a sunny thursday afternoon I walked up to GZ trying not to attract attention. I spotted the hide almost straight away and went in for the grab. TFTC

Took me a little while to find the location and a while to get it out in amoungst pretending to be on my phone to fool muggles. It's at times like this I wish I was a smoker, lol! Didn't leave a photo (my printer is being somewhat unruly) but hopefully I'll be back. TFTH

05-Dec-06
Worked out the co-ords at home and went in for the kill. Found the cache almost as soon as I got to GZ after a lovely little walk through the bush. TNLN - Another clever hide Rats, Thanks!

Had a little trouble finding how to get into the reserve but I eventually got in and found the cache straight away. TNLN and thanks for the hunt!

3 out of 3! Collected all the info without much trouble (although the widget led me into someones backyard at one point, woops!) and went to GZ. I almost ran out of time before I had to go to the dentist but then spotted the cache. I removed a non-geokiddy-friendly swap (some penknives - someone obviously hasn't read the terms and conditions) and will return in the future with something more appropriate (I didn't have swaps on me).

Thanks for the hunt, it was great to get out and about!

03-Dec-06
After a few visits and a couple of hints I finally came back to nab the cache. Very sneaky hide Rats. TNLN.

Cheers

29-Nov-06
I first went in through the golf club, saw that I would have to swim to get to it then went back out and around towards the playground. It was very dissapointing to see that the entire "island" is fenced off for construction (of a substation I believe) and you'd need some wirecutters to get in.

I would reccommend taking this cache offline till the construction ends, unless there is another way to get in.

Came by for a look on an afternoon out caching. Found it in next to no time at all. Area is a bit smelly though.

Out here on a windy afternoon caching. There was something whistling in the wind nearby which made the whole experience a little eerie. Found the cache after a little poking around. TNLN and thanks for the hunt!

14-Nov-06
A Geocoin for the FTF.

27-Oct-06
Went and resurveyed the coords today. My new position averaged between the original and three today was only out by 6m the accuracy of my GPS. Will return a few more times before deciding whether to update the coords by I would suggest the powerlines are getting in the way.

26-Oct-06
Found it with not too much trouble at all.

Got suprised by a couple of muggles and had a bit a chinwag but it was great to come out here and have a bit of a look around. I haven't been to Hill 60 in ages. TNLN

Thanks for the Cache

15-Oct-06
Have trained here a couple of times with SES. Good Hide.

Perhaps this cache should be named Lantana canmara as that made the bigger impression on my hike up the escarpment. Couldn't find the trail at the marked coordinates so I ended up bushbashing my way up the ridge, finding a few goat tracks here and there. Didn't see a single pink ribbon. Got to GZ where, starting with the two most impressive Red Cedars, I scoured the area for an hour and a half looking up down and all around. I checked all the red cedar trees and any that could be mistaken as such, buttresses and rock cracks around them and a number of stumps and other possible hidy holes but turned up zilch. Searched around GZ a bit to try and find the trail down and ended up following goat tracks and bushbashing my way down. Ended up coming out in someones backyard very wet, very dirty and with nothing to show for it. Could the cache owner confirm that they did enter the coordinates and datum correctly for both the cache and the track head?

On the bright side I did see a bush turkey that was hanging around GZ.

07-Oct-06
Great cache cheekyfrogs. Ducked in during a break from the muggles and came out only to be greeted by Odee McPodie's gang.
Took Geocoin, left PTerry TB.

TFTC

Found this one with no problems, in the first spot I looked too. TNLN

Thanks cheekyfrogs

25-Sep-06
Had a lovely little walk through Kiama on a beautiful day. Found all the WP's okay but WP9 was about 40m off. Correct coordinates are S34 40.087 E150 51.230.

Got to GZ after a few wrong turns and dead end streets. My GPS was going heywire and I was about to go mess with some stinging nettles when I spotted the cache. Had to sit tight for a while due to muggle trouble but I got it in the end. TNLN

Thanks for the wonderful ride.

17-Sep-06
Dropping off a TB

15-Sep-06
Came by here in the late afternoon but was thwarted by a bunch of pint sized muggles admiring the ducks. Gave up and moved onto the next one.

Didn't take too long to find it. I had been planning on dropping off Mr Burns for a visit but didn't realise that it was a micro till I got there.

TFTC

I really like these short multi's. Found it nice and quick while managing to avoid some lovebird muggles on a nearby bench. Left Mr Burns and Signal Geocoin, took the swimming TB and a measuring spoon to make room.

TFTF

Took me a little while and a bit of a soaking (they were testing the sprinklers) before I found it, a lovely little area to wander through and a nice place for an out of towner such as myself to visit. Left Fuzzy Wuzzy TB, took a nerf dart to make room.

TFTC

After a little searching I found it while hiding from a muggle. Funny how things happen like that. Left Rats Geocoin, took nothing.

05-Sep-06
Had a bit of a poke around for possible hiding spots and found it in the first one I looked in. Couldn't believe my luck. I then went off and did a quick and dirty job of using triangulation to guess the height of the stack. Came out with about 130 metres although I'm probably out by a lot.

Thanks Rats.

31-Aug-06
Ran out of time to get this one when I came for Radioactive. Decided to return and was pleasently suprised. Took the TB, left some balloons.

30-Aug-06
Finally on my fourth visit (and with a few small hints) I find it. What a devious hide Odee, you had me stumped for a long time.
