On a tandem bicycle tour of Tasmania and SE Australia. This is the only geocache I found along the way. Vort.

Today. Leap Day. 29 February 2020. It's been 5 years since I was on this spot. Had a great time finding it again with 3 Williams Kidz. Vort.

All right I had done some research on this one To avoid bushwhacking. From parking at N42° 40.400 W077 20.255, I was able to get to the cache in eight minutes. Total round-trip 19 minutes. The trail is good, but steep in spots. For reference, I am 66. FAV of course. Vort

I had no idea the bridge was going to be out, so I had to do some thinking before grabbing this one. D/T rating should be changed, even if temporarily. I walked to the "bridge" then back to the car to get a zip lock, then back to the "bridge." I had no clue how deep the water would be, but ended up only getting wet up to my belt buckle. The rocks look pretty sharp, so I just wore my hiking boots. Really fun and memorable for my 30th state oldest. Vort.

One of the toughest bushwhacks to the cache site I have done in a while. Bled like a bad dog from climbing over fallen logs. I will post the coordinates to the trailhead soon. Vort.

Very cool. I tried to come in via a route I figured out on Google Earth. ...Road Closed. When I let the GPS take me there, it worked out well. Super cool this old. Cache is in great shape. FAV. Vort

Like a lot of others, I have had this one on my list for a long time. I grew up in Florida, am a Gator, but had never been to Naples. Now, on retirement, we had the chance to tour the SE US by RV. Why not take a route that takes us by some of the first caches. Christmas Cache is out of the way to be sure, but a classic. I was concerned, when yesterday I passed the trail head and saw a lot of water. The good news is as soon as I got beyond the gate for the trail, it opened up and was mostly dry. There were a few mud spots, but very easily rideable on a mountain bike. I see no need to be worried about wildlife. I have 1000+ miles on my feet in Colorado and have never seen a Mountain Lion, so I understood the remote possibility of seeing a Florida Panther, but had my camera ready just in case (they are in range of the cache). Gators? There is only one place where the trail passes close to a pond that could hold a gator. I looked and did not see one. I did come across two piles of Black Bear scat (see photo). When I went back to the Ranger station to let them know I was safe, they told me a bear had been seen on the trail the day prior. Thanks. However, from my experience in Colorado, I knew a bear would run from me faster than I could get near it. That left squirrels, a lot of Palm Warblers, the odd Mourning Dove, some White Ibis flying over, and a few Turkey vultures soaring overhead. The final 500 feet is underwater, but it's only 6 inches deep and not too muddy. So take some old shoes and plan for it. Snakes? Yes, they are out there, but I lived in Florida for 10 years and have only seen a handful of snakes so the probabilities are low. In the end, a great cache. Thanks to Lorriebird for keeping it active. Loved it. FAV. Vort
* A note on bugs. The mosquitos are brutal. Normally by now Florida has had a front passage to knock the beasts down. I wore long pants and a long sleeve T-shirt. I put DEET on my face and hands. I was glad I did. In cooler weather, you won't have that kind of problem.

I am visiting the area to spend Christmas with the family. It was my grandson's birthday, so I killed two birds with one stone by renting a pontoon boat and spending sometime learning how hypothermia works on a Georgia Lake. Thanks to all for placing and maintaining caches on these islands. Vort from Colorado.

Super cool. Driving to Atlanta from Colorado I planned the route through Mountain Home to get this cache. Loved it. Thanks for maintaining this super one. FAV

I was in the Phoenix area buying a car to drive back to Colorado. My #1 purpose for my spare time was to log THIS cache. Super job keeping it up. I got the correct pass for my vehicle and danced around a zillion cacti of a zillion different types. It was too hot to worry much about snakes, but I did manage to flush a beautiful pair of Lesser Nighthawks. The buff wing bar on the female was prominent. Thanks for keeping this up. It was a super time. I left all my trackables. Vort.
I loved this history lesson ... in 2011, with a couple of buds, I found 800+ caches in 1 day on Route 66 (California). Vort.

This was a super fun virtual. Having lived in the DC area three times, I have seen this spot. This cache made me look closer. Nice one. Vort.

I am actually surrounded by Canadians where I work at NORAD - USNORTHCOM in Colorado Springs. Nice one, but security kept me from getting too close. Vort.

Very nicely done. The puzzle was great and the container was the best I saw in AUS during my short stay. Vort.
We rented a car in Sydney with one express purpose to go log this cache. It was amazing to find a flock of Larakeets perched over the area and VERY angry that I was in their space. I dipped two travel bugs for the visit. Very nice spot. Thanks. Vort.
Had a few days in Australia on a trip from the states. Vort. What a great swim complex!!
With the very straightforward instructions this one was a snap. Just a short walk from the car, even if I did manage to run into a couple of creepy spider webs. I got some multipathing near the GZ, but my coords were exactly on target when I arrived. Thanks for keeping this old one in business. Vort.
This is a great EC and a super geology lesson. During 3 days in Sydney we managed to drive the bridge twice and walk half of it once. It is amazing. Vort.

Had a few days in Sydney. Visiting from the States. Nice one. Vort. This one is really not a 1/1 since it cannot be retrieved from a wheelchair.

Log is too wet to sign ... simply soaking in water. A 1/1 cache is accessible by wheelchair. This cache is at least 2.5/2.5 due to the terrain and the choice of 3 tracks to get to it. Vort.

Very nicely done. Found this one while on a tandem cycling tour of New Zealand. Thanks very much. Vort
Tried to find this one while on a tandem cycling tour of New Zealand. But it was nowhere to be found. I looked extensively under the wooden platforms. Vort

This is one of the most interesting ECs I have found. I did this one while on a cycling tour of New Zealand. We also toured the village below and had lunch at the cafe which boasts the best scones I have ever eaten. Vort

Great cache in an amazing location. I took a TB to move to the States. Vort.
We had a local boy to help, but could not see exactly where to start. In cycling shoes it was a no go. Vort.
