COVID caching find.

27-Apr-20
Another great find by my eagle eyed teammate.

26-Apr-20
My teammate found it while I was busy checking out the sparrows!

Thought we would try and find the next cache in this Oxley series. Pulled up on my bike and loaded the GPX file, only one metre away, got to be happy with that. Signed the log, though notice the log book is a bit damp at the moment. Two down, 14 more to go... D&C

Helps if you double check the coordinates you enter into your GPS. Solved the puzzle and got the right answer, but then plugged in the wrong numbers. After looking around for a while, thinking this can't be right, realised my error. Correct numbers and it all became clear, the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for the puzzle. D&C

Nice quick easy find on our way home from an afternoon of cycling and caching. This marks a small but nonetheless still satisfying milestone (20 caches) for us. D&C

Third and final cache for the day, thought we would drop off Micropup's GEOGUITAR Geocoin, move it downstream, a little closer to town and the airport. Haven't walked this track for a number of years, but it is looking really good, some wonderful rehabilitation work has been done here. D&C

A very enjoyable multi-cache, we managed to find the message in a bottle and then made our way to GZ. Great views and a great location. I found myself once again wishing I had bought more appropriate footwear. D&C

Nice quick easy find, retrieving the cache was simple enough though replacing the cache undetected wasn't as easy due to muggles. An interesting array of ducks to be seen at this location. D&C

18-Apr-09
Nice little park tucked out of the way. Stopped by quickly and had a bite to eat while we signed the log. TFTC. D&C

After calculating 125 different tolling options, the cheapest option gave us coordinates that were quite familiar, I travel past this cache on my way to work most days, never realised that a cache was so close by. D&C

13-Apr-09
Having quite a good run today, caching in the rain, no muggles to be seen, this is our third for the day. TFTC. D&C

This cache is proving popular, second find today despite the rain. Had a good feeling about this cache on approach, initial suspicions on the hide proved correct. Got our caching mojo back after logging a DNF yesterday. Dropped in a purple caterpillar toy and took Micropup's GEOGUITAR Geocoin, will move this on to another cache soon. D&C

12-Apr-09
We had a very enjoyable time performing the activities in this Whereigo Cartridge right up until the point where we started looking for the cache at Ground Zero. Searched for 30 minutes but had no joy in the long grass, ran out of daylight so we will have to try again at a later date. D&C

11-Apr-09
Forgot to download the GPX file to the GPS unit, but still managed to locate this cache based upon the image provided here. Received a couple of beeps from a passing motorist, perhaps a fellow geocacher... TFTC. D&C

Went to visit mum for easter and decided to have a crack at this geocache on the way. Worked our way through the clues, but our sums didn't produce a sensible result so went back and started over. Second time round we got a better result and headed for GZ. After searching around for a while we finally hit the jackpot, this has to be our most satisfying cache find to date given the size and hide. D&C.

Relatively quick find by my wife, who spotted it from a safe distance, meanwhile I was nearly in the river having jumped over the edge in the wrong spot. Lost my pen earlier back at "there's MUD in my pocket!" so we scratched an entry into the log with the pencil. Cache and log book a bit damp after recent rain. D&C.

The name of the cache is certainly appropriate, I slipped and fell, got mud all over my backside and lost my pen, thankfully there was a pencil in the cache so I could sign the log. I would recommend taking a pair of gumboots. Actually a canoe would be handy, save you having to navigate through the long grass and worrying about snakes. Carried out as many plastic drink containers as I could handle but barely made a dent in the refuse pile. I think this cache could use some maintenance, there was water inside the container and the logbook was quite damp even inside the zip-lock bag. D&C.

Stopped here on our way up the coast. Nice quick easy find, thanks very much for the cache. Also paid our respects to Uncle John who was laid to rest nearby. RIP Uncle John. D&C.

In fading light we reached WP1. We figured we could at least solve part of the puzzle. Went to record the highest mountain only to discover that two information panels have been removed, presumably for maintenance... We will have to check back another time. D&C

Very happy chappy, second find for the day. After visiting Dad on the coast we headed for Maleny to find this cache, nice afternoon walk near Lake Baroon, cache well hidden, requiring a little patience (there appeared to be numerous possibilities close to GZ). Eventually struck gold though and headed for home.

22-Mar-09
Perhaps a micro cache with a two star difficulty rating was a little too ambitious for only our fourth outing. Worked our way through the questions and came up with answers that looked reasonable, but found the GZ was a bitumen driveway, we might need to recheck our calculations. Had a poke around in the long grass nearby (wore a pair of gumboots, which I brought along after reading the last log about snake bites) but came up empty handed. D&C.

We needed a contingency plan after having no luck with Pioneer Legends #1. Relatively quick and easy find. Thanks very much for the cache, it meant we didn't have to make the drive back to Brisbane empty handed. D&C

15-Mar-09
Learnt a good lesson today, it's wise to check the track map before setting off, distances can be deceiving. Persistence paid off though, despite our inappropriate footwear. The track was quite muddy and slippery at certain points but we reached the lookout and managed to locate the geocache, Dropped off the Phantom Logger - Super Cacher Geocoin, (thought we would get it out of Brisbane and keep it moving in a southerly direction) and a pen as the one in the cache wasn't working. D&C

08-Mar-09
Went down to the netball courts yesterday afternoon and wrote down the numbers of the four different goal posts that were automatically downloaded to the GPS unit as additional waypoints with the geocache. Quickly solved the puzzle this morning and checked the location on Google maps, looked promising so we went and found it this afternoon. Dropped in a small yellow toy car and picked up the Phantom Logger - Super Cacher Geocoin. D&C.

Second time is a charm. We visited yesterday briefly but I began to doubt myself and puzzle solution, back again today with a little more patience, we managed to find it. Our very first geocache! D&C.
