We have decided to archive this cache as the listed co-ordinates are no longer suitable for a cache. The track here is being reconstructed, but is taking a very long time. So we will open this space for another cacher to use if they wish.

I have checked here again, but the loop track is still closed and looks like it might be for a little while yet whilst they do the upgrading work. I will replace the cache to a better location once the track has been reopened.

There is major track work happening here after the recent heavy rains so we have removed the cache for now so it doesn't get buried.

Replaced the cache today with a new dry one in the original hiding place. Could not actually find the previous cache so if you come across it (1 litre sistema) on your hunt then let me know where it is and I'll pop up and collect it. All ready now for the next smilee.

Quick find on our way out from Mitre Flats Hut on our 3 day tramp. Started at Holdsworth on Friday staying at Atiwhakatu and then across to Mitre Flats yesterday. TFTC

We took a little while to find it but it was fun. We were camping nearby.
Didn't take too long to find after we walked from where we were camping. Left the Girl Guides of Canada 100 Years Geocoin. Hope someone picks it up soon to move it on. Introduced quite a few more to geocaching today. TFTC

On our way out from Haurangi Hut on our Duke of Ed tramp so decided to do some geocaching on the way. Surprised to find others at the cache when we got there. Quick find in the rain. TFTC

Got a real surprise walking through the tunnel to the cache. We didn't have our torches on as it was only a short tunnel but heard a noise coming towards us. We knew it couldn't be a train but were surprised to see a vehicle so everyone scurried to the side. Took a little while searching for the cache but found it in the end. TFTC
Found at the start of our walk of the Incline. Got a bit too enthusiastic for the walk and overshot it so had to come back.
