Logs for ROSSx4
24-Oct-12
Sadly upon checking our first cache ever planted "LiamBoyStash" it appears that something or someone has decided that it's existence was not to be any longer. Thanks for some memorable times, comments and fun. We will be back somewhere in the same vacinity. TFTC Liam Boy. Rossx4

Unfortunately a DNF. Reached the shaft, and heading up to top of hill as we suspected GZ would be there. GPS had us heading STH back down hill into the gully. Reading the hints we thought we would be on the money. 45 minutes later and one very worried and distraught geokid (thought daddy got lost in the gully) no cache. Next Time. [?]
Unfortunately another DNF. printed out the picture and used it to orientate oneself once at GZ. Checked bother banks left and right as well as underneath and around rocks shown in picture. Good walk though and magic surroundings. Maybe recent rains have wash away cache or maybe it's been muggled. probably worth a maintenance check. [?]
26-Jun-12
Together with another geofamily and geokids travelling with us on holidays, we decided to set out on this walk even though it was drizzling slightly. Got to GZ with no troubles and a nice quick and easy find. Got within 7mtr accuracy with GPS and picked the spot by visual markers that looked slightly out of place !!!! with surrounding terrain. Another classic hide by you. How do you think up these ingenious ways to create a cache. Geofamily spent about 15 minutes trying to find this and like many previous cachers, were feeling in locations where one would wonder if "bities" were going to strike. TFTC.[^]
30-Jun-10
With fellow cachers "The Sprakers", we did this one on our way out to Carnarvon Gorge, Takarraka Bush resort. TFTC.

Nice easy find. Another cache couple arrived whilst we were there. We offerred them the opportunity to use the cache for the next way point. We can easily come back another time soon and use it to get the next clue. Looks like fun.
A note for the owner: Be aware that bush fires clear this area very often and I would think that the cache would perish.and may pay to do a maintenance check after the next one. TFTC

Nice easy find not far from home. Geokids left some items but took nothing. TFTC

Second cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. This little beauty requires some care and attention as the contents are extremely wet from recent rain. We, together with The Sprakers couldn't do a jog entry as the log was soaked.TFTC

Tenth cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. Pretty hot by this stage. Took opportunity for a rest break and cool drink. TFTC
Fifth cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. The geokids loved this one. A little concerned that mowing contractors may disturb if weed wacking close by. TFTC
Nineth cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. The geokids loved this one. TFTC
Eleventh cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. The geokids loved this one. Murphy's Law prevailed with this one being our last, not far fro home. Took about 20 minutes to discover this one. Almost gave up. Geo kids enjoyed the swaps and replenished the treasure as usual. TFTC
Sixth cache today, on a morning cache trek with The Sprakers. The geokids loved this one after several load screams as father Spraker cacher removed the gate keeper. Father RossX4 cacher had to donate to the swearing jar after this one.TFTC

Great spot. Although we felt as though we were intruding somewhat. Nevertheless, no muggles were present nor noticed our presence. TNLN TFTC. ROSSx4
Nice cache. Walked past initially. Geo husband disregarded geowife's suggestion that this was the spot. After realising we had passed the spot, geohusband had to return to where geowife rightfully suggested GZ was. ROSSx4 TNLN TFTC.

Definately a hard one to find. GZ still covered in water but think we were in the right vacinity. No luck with this one today. ROSSx4.
With geokids and geowife, we located the cache relatively quickly. Geohusband had man eyes on and didn't see it at first although I'd just looked right at it. Geowife came to the rescue again. TFTC ROSSx4

Hi BROJO. It was great that you noted the starting point as Scorparia Drive. We first entered to coords into the navigator and it took us to Birchwood Drive Brookwater. Ended up walking part of the golf buggy track until we realised we were actually at the 15th hole. Realising we we in the wrong place we returned to the car and referenced the old faithfull UBD. Plugged the name Scorparia into navigator and we were off on the right track. On return to home whilst logging the find, I decided to check the New Driving Directions tab on the geocache site for this cache. Strange, because it also takes you too Birchwood Drive, not Scorparia. I thought you might be interested in this information. ROSSx4
Great cache. Took geokids for walk during school holidays. Although it had not rained for several days, I can see what you mean by it not being advisable after significant rainfall. Took "Little Green Frog TB" and will place into our cache called "Liam Boy Stash" later this afternoon. Recorded other two TB's as a find but left in place. TFTC.
Great cache. Took geokids for walk during school holidays. Did this one on our way back from BROJO cache. The Geowife found the micro after a short look around using your instructions. Unbelievable. We were amazed with this one. Very ingenious. I'd be interested in knowing how this was made or where you purchased it from as we would like to place a few like it, ourselves. Drop me a line sometime if you don't mind sharing your secret. ROSSx4 TFTC

We also tried locating this on the 24th to no avail. Suspect that burn off around tree bases has also burnt off the cache. Thought this would be an easy one as we were camped at Sharp Park.

Nice easy find with the geokids in tow. Camping at nearby Sharp Park and spent a few hours caching. TFTC
Walked through the tunnel and a short way along the track. Felt as though we were heading in the right direction according the GPS. Had geofamily in tow and after some recent encounters with brown snakes down the road at Sharp Park, felt it was wise not to continue as one geokid was crawling up my back with fear. Can you confirm if we were on course. If so, we may try again when out there next (outside of brown snake breading season). Thanks anyway

Great cache and great historical location. Found this after a visit to the Dinosour tour. On our way home from the outback trip with fellow cachers the Sprakers. TFTC.

Had difficulty finding the cache until the nice lady from across the road came over and explained to us that she was minding the cache on behalf of the owner as the previous one had been muggled and stolen. TFTC.

This is truely a magical place. A trip worth the time and effort involved in getting there. Travveling companion cachers Sprakers also with us. TFTC

Found this on our way home from Birdsville. Travelling companions were the Sprakers. TFTC
09-Jul-08
Found it the day after watching the last state of origin at the Birdsville hotel. On our way home now. TFTC.

Well, what a great day. We are the ROSSx4 and we travelled over with the Sprakers on our bikes. Thanks Jabes7 for organising this event. It was great to meet fellow cachers. From our meeting place at Karragarra we travelled over to Russell Is. We all exhausted ourselves riding around on the bikes on Russell, so much so that we didn't have the energy to hunt on Lamb or McCleay. Probably another day for the other islands.
