Logs for caffiend42

30-Aug-08
Sorry about the delay. Finally got to check it today and nope, looks like the fencing has been replaced and the cache has gone tatas. Will replace ASAP.

16-May-08
Nice easy find, and a lovely walk through with the dogs. Took little waterproof case (for use as another cache somewhere Wink) and left the Rascal TB.

Had to find the bugger again as I dropped my keys there [:(!] Took much longer to get to GZ as I didn't bother to switch the GPS back on [:o)]

A no go for me, despite the choice of two GZ's, depending on what the GPS thought. If it's where I thought it was the first time, it may have been muggled, as there was an all too fresh stash of pornos, and an old bong!

And if it was near the other place, well, it eluded me, despite the photo hint. I'm still a gumby cacher it seems.

I'll go back with another set of eyes.

Told you it was FFS Red Face

Thanks, UMP.

05-May-08
Errr...something screwy happened Red Face I suspect FFS (Fat Finger Syndrome). It's definitely NOT where Google Earth says it is! It's only spitting distance from the junction of Buff Ck Rd and Lee Pt Rd. I'll rejig the coords ASAP - thanks for the heads up, and apologies to all.

A choice little spot, nicely guarded by the ubiquitous green ants. There IS actually room for swaps - a US dime was already there, and there was still room to add a kangaroo hat pin. Note to the next person - don't stab yourself Wink

Came here about a week ago and was looking about 5m away, so consequently had no luck. This time, I came with the new Colorado, got to within 2m, was about to do a circumnavigation and voila! There it was staring at me. Looks like a rock was dislodged so it was sitting there looking all nude.

Nicely covered up now, complete with an aussie mozzie catcher in place of the Coleman keyring. Nice hide, thanks.

26-Apr-08
The last of 3 caches today, found at 18.20. Somehow, I don't think it's going to flood easily!

I managed to sneak up at exactly the right spot - when I lefted my head, there it was at eye level Cool I like those!

Left a bottle opener that may very well come in handy after finding, and took the labbie TB, as it was mistaken in the half light for a beagle hehehe

TFTC, it's a good 'un.

Found it easily on the way to Whoop Whoop with 2 geonewbies and one geokiddie. Lovely views, and took a few photos that strangely enough look very similar to what's already been published Wink

Took koala keyring (coz otherwise the geokiddie cried) and the tupperware keyring, and left Nate's Nameless Bug. Great location, and first of three for the day (Whoop Whoop and Rockin' Robin).

What a day! Greak trek out there, nice and slowly, with some caching newbies who coincidentally are 4wding newbies. We took along a picnic and togs and sat in a little pond with fishies nibbling our toes.

The cache is in good nick, we admired the gold and the arrow heads, and left the Mouse that Never Gets Lost TB, hopefully to encourage people to make the trek, coz it's a bewdy.

One down side was on the way back out we were challenged by someone stating we were on private property and therefore trespassing. However, with no signage or fencing, and evidence of a pretty well used track, I don't know how much credence one should take. Suffice to say, we'll be back to camp at the end of the track Wink

Great cache, great day Cool

23-Apr-08
Back to Basics seems to be a no go. GZ has flotsam and jetsam even past where the sign is, and there's at least a metre's worth of sand erosion as well. The few trees about have well exposed root systems, assuming that's about where the cache was. We had a good ferret around, but no luck, even with 12 of 12 satellites available. Sad Now don't go there and prove us wrong! Red Face

It was a lovely walk up the beach with the beaglies though on our usual route, just a bit further than usual Smile

18-Apr-08
Nice spot - would have been nicer if people didn't use the area as their toilet [:(!]

GPS took me to within 7 metres, then used the hint.

TFTC. Took the mousie TB (minus one ear) (and the blue car by accident as it was entangled in the TB chain Red Face) and left a classic piece of Australiana - the Aussie coin purse Wink

16-Apr-08
Found this easily, we just pretended we weren't being watched. Caff#2 went to the wrong side of the road hehehe! As luck would have it, another cacher found it the same day - just hasn't logged the find yet.

TNLNSL, TFTC. Will remember this place if/when I have a stash of bugs Wink

Dropped off a Unite for Diabetes travel bug on its maiden voyage for the FTF.

A nice easy find - this one has been found twice in one day. Two from two today, and my first cache placed less than a couple of km away as the crow flies.

Took Nate's Nameless Bug without realising it will get a head spin from being picked up so quickly, left a golf ball, which is just pretending to be a geocoin Wink

12-Apr-08
Didn't find it, but didn't try very hard - inappropriate shoes and the prickles stopped us about 30m out. Another trek in may have been easier. Can't believe no one has been here since last year, then two cachers cross paths! Will give it another go another time.

Was at the right spot, only my memory told me GZ was 10m to the right of the pole. Red Face Good excuse to come back with more southerners for another attempt.

Can't believe one of the 4 of us without the GPS ended up finding it! Took multi-tool, left bobble-headed koala. TFTC, nice to meet you, Ex Wink

Lovely spot - no one on this side of the car park as work being done on the boardwalk. Undergrowth was 6 foot high, but an easy find once at the spot. Second of 4 attempts today.

TNLNSL, TFTC, cheers

Outstanding! And just when I'd nearly given up. Saw it fairly quickly - I even held it in my hands briefly, but not the right way Wink Put it back in its spot and kept looking. Went out and back in different directions to make sure I was in the right spot. Just about to give up, give the thingy another looksee and woddayaknow! Success! And only a few green ant bites. 2 out of 3 ain't bad for a couple of hours playtime. TFT(Sneaky)C Cool

Second to find @ 17.30, nice hide Cool

Handy hint: don't go at dusk, or risk sandflies, mozzies and green ants galore. Tricky sat fix under the trees - I I got the right place, but I was getting too bitten Red Face Third time lucky, maybe Wink

01-Apr-08
Will need another set of eyes for this one. Heat of the day and a few junior muggles prevented a red hot pry. So damn frustrating - I got to within a metre (or so the GPS says) Twisted Either that, or it was a very well planned April Fools Day joke Wink

24-Mar-08
Found quite easily, despite being the first cache in well over 12 months. Fogg Dam is as peaceful as ever, great excuse to go for another visit.

TNLN, TFTC!

Box seems in good nick, but it was full of water and mould and the log book is ruined unfortunately.

29-Sep-06
Can't believe I got this one absolutely immediately! Didn't even have to stop and reorient - it was meant to be. Took skunky thingy, left keyring thiny. TFTC. Good spot - hope it doesn't get burnt out one dry.

Nup, no luck on this one. The hint didn't help me either. Think I've converted my coords wrong as the location seems too close for comfort to a major road. I'll give a burl another time with two heads.

Dammit! Two no finds, and someone else who found it easy ROFL! I think the tree cover is affecting how close I'm getting - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

50% success rate today - 2 from 4. Nor porbs finding, just shielding my wierd behaviour from muggles and their pooches. Took keyring, left a box of matches. Ta muchly!

22-Sep-06
My first FTF! Very Happy And all by myself - I have earned a beer for a good start to a weekend.

I'd just about given up when I approached from a new angle. Nice hide, thanks!

Took dice, left whistle with lanyard.

Will have to come back - obviously two heads and two noses are better than one! I must have been standing on it too. Met another geocacher - Geobusters? Told me I was close - I should have asked for more hints!

One of two no finds in the one afternoon. Bugga! Had a few strange looks from geomuggles walking past, so didn't hang about. And I was so close too Sad I could almost be in double figures by now!

16-Sep-06
Hmmm. Tricky one. No luck on this, despite half an hour of looking. Are we doofus's, is the hide exceptional or has the cache been compromised? Very slippery gravel underfoot, especially with the beaglies trying to chase lizards!

10-Sep-06
Stopped by en route to Old M'clapton's Got A Farm. I was with Sqeek way back in 2002 and couldn't find it then either.

We took the path from the car park, following the car tracks so the dogs could come too. Nice hiding spot - took the golf ball for next weekend's game of flog (golf for gumbies) and attempt to find Hole in One! Left thumb thongs for someone to relax with ;-D

Walked back via the beach seeing there was a nice breeze, depsite being int he middle of the day.

Found this one with no probs. Left Red Eye Express travel bug and mozzie trap Very Happy to be an incentive to get out this way Wink. Didn't go via Berry Good as we had the dogs sleeping on the back seat along for the ride. We'll go back for that on the bike and earn a swim.

03-Sep-06
Our second cache of three found in one arvo. Fortuitously we chose two that just so happened to be within an easy walk of each other. We're no longer geocaching virgins! Smile

Took a doggy eraser, left a Peruvian clay whistle. A lovely little walk with our beaglies Very Happy

Our first geocache! Looks like there are now two beagle teams Very Happy

A lovely walk that we never knew existed, and the first cache of three found in one afternoon. Took superball, left beagle. I think we're hooked!

Found this one just before 7pm - almost dark - and the completion of a successful afternoon caching. We're now hooked!

Took the froggy travel bug, and in our excitement forgot to leave something behind. Big oops, sorry! We'll try to get back and leave something when next we go to Palmy.
