Logs for AZTech

19-Aug-18
On a mission to round up some new states, and find the first cache placed in them, as well as filling in my last remaining Jasmer grid and collecting Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids along the way. Had a great weekend putting 1753 miles on the rental, driving from Memphis to Charlotte. Second of three First Caches Placed planned for today and another quick find to keep me on schedule. Surprised this had managed to stay around, but appreciate those who have helped to keep it alive for us to seek. XNSL - TFTC!

This cache was at the top of the to-do list for the trip, as it is one of two along my weekend route that fills in the final spot on my Jasmer grid. Feels great to finally have it completed after all these years of caching! Also love that this cache was the first placed in Arkansas as that now gives me over a dozen such finds. Thanks for keeping this active for so long. I'm thinking Buttercup has something to do with that, lol. XNSL - TFTC!

07-Sep-12
Dipping a bunch of trackables I brought back from New England to update their mileage before releasing them on their way back in Arizona...

Found during a trip focusing on non-traditional caches and filling in missing Utah DGP regions and Jasmer grids. Had a great time going after this cache, which filled in another Oldest State Cache on my map as well as the August, 2000 Jasmer grid. Weather was great and had no problems finding the cache which is in great shape. Was very surprised to find that another cacher from AZ had been here just a few days earlier, obviously with the same goal as me! Thanks for keeping this piece of geohistory alive and in great shape for us all to enjoy. Onwards to Wah Wah Stash! Wink XNSL - TFC #15356

Needed a nice quick PnG today to bruise my sore ego after a close DNF call at my previous stop. Wink XNSL - TFC #11349

21-Sep-11
Container is rusted shut and in need of replacement. Coords also need updating, as several finders have reported them to be 30-40' off.

Coords are ~40' off and the cache is in a poor spot IMHO. Not surprisingly, the container is rusted shut and in need of repair. Signed logsheet someone placed on top of the cache in a torn plastic baggie. CO needs to replace the entire cache as soon as possible. XNSL - TFC #11298

08-Sep-11
Quick find on a short detour from the interstate. Interesting hide. XNSL - TFC #11234

29-Aug-11
Since an out-of-state caching trip was unexpectedly cut short, my wife felt sorry for me and offered to chauffeur me around Coolidge today and grab some caches. Of course I took her up on the offer! Big Grin

Final find of a fun caching morning before heading back home. XNSL - TFC #11186

Quick find as we stopped for a bathroom break. XNSL - TFC #10047

21-Apr-07
Found while in the company of Team2002, Sport Trac/k and Whaat! following the 2007 CITO #1 event. Previous oldest AZ find was placed in Jan of 2001, so this beats it by quite a bit. Neat to see the original logbook in this piece of geocaching history. Took the Whazzat TB and left a Masters of Cache geocoin, SL - TFTC!

Attended this one remotely while on the way into work this morning ('cause Pablo said I could!). (Thought the commute seemed a bit longer than usual this morning! Big Grin)Makes me look forward to an event cache I'll be attending (in person) in a couple weeks. Thanks for sharing the audio with the Podcacher podcast!

27-Dec-05
On our way back from a caching run down south, a DPS officer pulled me over for speeding on westbound Interstate 10, just 2 miles from my exit! The last find before our little 'incident' was Forgotten Corral (GCM7FP) and this was the end of an otherwise good day of caching. Most I've paid for a 'smiley' yet! Twisted TFTC!

Pass by this location all the time, so thought it was about time to submit it for this cache. Location is the Desert Fox Paintball Field (link) off of South Houghton Road in Tucson, AZ, where they hold regular open games. Not a paintballer myself, though I'd definitely like to try it out, so just settled for a photo showing the entrance sign and some of the playing field. TFTC!

This SuperFund site is near Tucson International Airport. Wasn't able to get any closer because of the tight security (see photo), but this is the west entrance off of Old Nogales Highway. As a kid, I lived just a few miles from this site, but it wasn't clear if the groundwater in our area was affected by the TCE plume that was discovered. Still wonder if any contamination was present or not... TFTC!

I really enjoyed how you tied all of this together. At least now I will be able to recognize one constellation! Thanks for a fun puzzle.
