Logs for Badoma

02-Jan-19
300metres to go- YES!! The little detour was rewarded with a quick find and another smiley on the map. A few minutes later we were back at the car at last. What a great day!

It took all our attention to motivate the geokid to cross the alpine section of the crossing - so it was not until here that we could focus on looking for caches again. This one was a "one glance one find" - we took our time logging and resting anyways.

Taking on the crossing with the geokid we didn't make it to the start too early - so it was already 10:15 when we made our first find here and used the search for an early lunch break. Cords are really quite a bit off, we were about to give up when the "one last look" revealed the hiding spot...

My number 500!!! The geokid didn't enjoy going up and geo-mom decided she wasn't allowed the search as long as she acted like this- so I made this find alone. Thanks go out to cache - owners all over the world that made me explore 500 unique places! (log too wet to write on, photo log instead)

Finally, I was able to achieve my second find in Napier! Fortunately the container was big enough to host at least one of the two TBs I wanted to leave on the North Island - now it's just one more home I need to find!

After 3 unlucky attempts of other caches, this was finally my first find in Napier. Smaller than expected from the description and stats.

22-Dec-18
Found after a longer search than we had expected - got my knee covered in tree sap before finally making the find!

19-Dec-18
Found after a longer wait for muggles to leave. After having been unlucky with Fox Glacier the day before we were glad to have made it close to Franz-Josef-Glacier at least. Liked the hiding spot a lot- used the hint to verify our suspicion. TFTC

The massive log- even though completely overgrown and half rotten by now - is a truly impressive sight that would have been overlooked without the cache placed here. For the great placement it deserves a FP and many thanks to the owner!

The coordinates kept jumping around for some time, but we managed to spot it after walking around the house twice. The interesting facts provided on the site and along the entire walk deserve a favourite point.

When we arrived at the GZ, we could already see the cache from afar - so we gave it a little more camou to prevent it from being muggled. Very enjoyable walk and a nice glimpse of what being a miner in the area could have felt like. Thank you so much for bringing us here!

Found quickly once our eyes had adapted to the little amount of light that makes it down here. Wondering what the store might have looked like....

17-Dec-18
Stopped here on our way to Gillespie beach to take a few pictures, stretch our legs and try to find the GC. The little one found it quickly and loved the TB so much that we had to pick it up. Thanks for making us stop here!

14-Dec-18
The third attempt to find the track down to the waterfalls was the correct one - enjoyed this quite beautiful spot hidden away from everything and tried going for a swim... But too cold. Thanks for taking us here!

It was our third day in the area- after hiking up to Lake Marian and going for a cruise in Milford Sound. The weather was the best we had so far, so we didn't hesitate to pack our things and hike up to the Key Summit. Geo kid did a great job and the find was hers, too... TFTC!

13-Dec-18
After returning from Milford Sound we thought we would be trapped in the rain for the rest of the day- Until suddenly it cleared up and we could go for a little walk on the Lake Gunn Nature Trail. What an amazing forest with stunningly impressive trees! Even the little one was fascinated by all the interesting information plaques. The cache itself was found within a few moments after having figured out that the map was just misleading in this case...

12-Dec-18
Visiting with my friend from Australia and her daughter... A tough one to find for the little one so after we had spotted it we had to help her find it by taking her up our shoulders...

We made our way from Queenstown to the Fjordland National Park in the morning and undertook the hike up to Lake Marian in the afternoon- The little one got challenged pretty hard that day and the geocache was meant as a little treat at the end of the hike- signal was jumping and it was geo-mom who had the correct idea before having to read the hint.

07-Dec-18
And another find on the way home! A friend of mine that had been a muggle until today spotted it after less than a minute's search. Very talented...

Found quickly after reading the hint (my GPS was off by about 20m which is quite significant in this busy location...). Nice hide, enjoyed the stroll! (forgot my pen...)

Found on a short stroll after dinner with two old and two new friends. The hint and the previous logs proved helpful!

After a long time without any finds I found this one on the first morning being back to Australia. Nice hide, even though the lock is useless atm

17-Sep-18
On the second day of hiking, Cape Huay should be our last stop before returning back to Fortescue Bay. After having been on top of the Blade the day before this was a very different but not less impressive view. Container was found quickly after the GPS had settled, resting muggles didn't take notice. What a great end point to our trip to Tassie!

15-Sep-18
Found on our way out of the park- we had to be quick as rain was forecasted, so we had to keep going after the log was signed. Wondering what the waterfall lounge might have looked like during the rain.

14-Sep-18
What an amazing view from the top! We had already enjoyed the climb up for it's challenging boulder-scrambling, but the panoramic from the summit simply exceeded all our expectations!

Quick stop on our hike over to the campsite on the other end of wineglass Bay. Enjoyed the sundown and the sounds of the sea a lot!

12-Sep-18
Found in the morning of my arrival to Launceston together with two new geocachers for whom it was the first find. GPS was a bit tricky at first, but once it had settled it was an easy find! Smile

Quick find on the way to the guest house. Busy place but thanks to the first idea being correct we didn't have any problems with muggle activity.

On our way to the guest house we had some time to kill as check-in wasn't possible for another two hours. So we made this one our second find of the day. Found quickly, but very nice hiding. TFTC!

09-Sep-18
Took us longer than expected to find... The hint got us a bit confused, we should have just kept looking around instead. Any ways- enjoyed the views on the way up!

08-Sep-18
A quick find before we headed down the giant stairway towards Mt. Solitary. Weather was horrible, so glad the rain stopped in the afternoon.

Found on the way up to the top of Mt. Solitary. Darkness caught us shortly after we made this find so we had to set up the tent in the middle of the path. Was a great experience still, TFTC. Favourite point deserved!

07-Sep-18
First day in the blue mountains area and we headed to Echo Point for the sunrise. Walked over to Gordon Falls before the afternoon thunderstorm started. Took some time to find this one because of our GPS signal jumping around.

Again we walked past at first, but then turned around to find it. Quick find, nice view!

Our last cache on this hike, as the clouds started to roll in and were looking as if rain was to expected soon. Again- great views!

Walked past the cache in between without even noticing... Here our GPS was a hit off again and it took us much longer to find it then one would expect... Photo log as we couldn't find space on the logbook.

27-Aug-18
Didn't expect to be very lucky after reading the previous logs- but it turned out to be a very quick find for me! Coordinates+ hint were very accurate for me, nice hiding spot + "camouflage" though! Thanks for taking me here! (had to photo - log it as I forgot my pen in the car...)

Having had to kill some time I decided to head for this cache. And what a good idea it was! Loved the insight into Australian history and whenever I have a 10$ dollar note in my hand now I'll think of today!

After a check of the previous logs I was quite tempted to think "Isn't the terrain rating a bit high?"- but then we started hiking up an found out what "unmaintained trail" really meant! So after the longest 700m of our lives we can agree: Terrain rating is about correct. After we had admired the views, we were glad to have found the container quickly. TFTC!

25-Aug-18
Our first tree climb for the day- spotted quickly and after some planning the climb itself wasn't too hard!

Found a few metres lower than it was supposed to. The construction keeping the container in place is broken and we couldn't repair it- Left it where we found it as otherwise the lightest wind could bring it down to the ground again. Maintenance required!

My favourite climb along Ennis Rd.! Pretty high up, but fighting my shaky knees was really worth it!

A quick stop on the way to some other caches. Found quickly, but quite enjoyed the search, TFTC!

Another very pretty letter box. Geokid loved it so much that we have to reward it with a fp. Thanks for the fun! Spent some time looking around until finally we realized how easy it was!

Found on the way to Mt. Pilot after some 5 minutes of looking around. Really liked the hiding spot and had lunch nearby. Logbook too wet to sign, photo logged.

Found rather quickly, even though in a good hiding spot! Spent our lunchbreak at GZ admiring the view. Really worth hiking up!

The geokid went for this one straight away and found it quickly. She loved swapping some items and we made sure she didn't hurt herself on the nearby fence. The short distance to this fence is our only point of criticism, apart from that a great cache with kids!

Tried for more than half an hour, read the hint and the info plaque carefully but still couldn't find it. Too bad :/
